And the only Alan Spaulding I will ever love is Ron Raines. I don't remember the woman either The black haired woman Dianne

  • In This Clip, From 0:00 To 0:18, It Was "The Guiding Light" Break Video Bumper From May 28, 1980.

  • Poor Diane. Her love for Alan drove her so far over the edge.

  • The conversation between Alan & Amanda has many layers. Neither of them know it, but she is his daughter, and she inherited her business sense from the Spauldings. And she inherited her musical talent from her biological mother, Jane Marie Stafford (then known as Jennifer Richards). Douglas Marland always wrote such interesting dialogue!

  • Although the stories at this time, involving Alan, Amanda & Lucille were started under the Dobsons.

Douglas was indeed a superb writer. Later (around 1997) they made Amanda Alan's half-sister.

  • @GillesBetrand Yes, it was a terrible mistake to make Amanda Brandon's daughter, rather than Alan's. First, it trashed a great classic storyline, and second, it added nothing memorable to the GL tapestry.
