  • The precursor to Daytona USA. Man, Sega had such vision back then.

  • THIS GAME IS SO RAD

  • great run. i have you as the best racer on youtube so far.

do you have laptimes for the other two courses?

    later

    -1

  • I have been to that place for the brickyard 500 once.

  • I Wished That It Were On The 32x Or The Sega Saturn :(

  • i dotn know about you guys but i love these games so much more than those modern day racing simulators. so much simpler. just get in and drive.

  • oh man. everytime at the lake tahoe harrah's casino. this in 8 players and daytona usa lined up together. it was heaven

  • no accident :/

  • Excellent vid, thanks... the beginning had me wondering, though. I certainly didn't remember it being *that* easy to pass the back markers. I mean, yeah, it was relatively easy, then you'd get to the top 4-5 and stall out.

Maybe my memory's just shot, though. That's also possible. hahah Thanks for posting... I only remember winning finishing first twice in this game, and was quite bummed out when I never got a free game for my efforts. :(

  • My lap record is a 35.214 I have a vid of it on me racing on my page

  • Wait a sec!

How did you make all the turns without using the breaks?

I always try that but it seems impossible.

  • @Albino2005

It's not impossible. Just use a good joystick, like a Playstation 2 clone with analog sticks configuration and you're done.

  • @eriklima2 But what about the arcade vesion? With the wheel I could never make it.

  • @Albino2005

Well, The original Arcade version has a steering wheel that is near what a Logitech G25 or G27 is capable. That wheel is comfortable and a little more sensitive and with quick response than a lot of cheaper wheels for US$ 70,00 in stores.

  • Looks like the FOV is wide

  • Oh shit i forgot about this game! Was this ever released on a home console? I'd like to get it if it was!

  • @TheUnbiasedGamer - Sadly, Indy 500 never got a home port. The only way to play this game is to emulate it in ElSemi's Model 2 Emulator. However, the emulation isn't perfect. Either that, or the ROM that's been dumped is slightly different from the one I've seen in all Indy 500 cabinets I've played. Some things are different on the cabinets I've played, such as the rolling start, which starts further back and with your car in 6th gear. Also, the name entry screen is introduced differently.

  • @Ace9921 Oh that sucks. My computer sucks at using the m2 emulator.

  • Cool! My record time - 2:30'223.

  • You totally deserve that swig of milk!

  • My local Gameworks has 8 of the "moving seat" versions all together, and it's a blast! I never see any of the tracks besides Indy 500 because everyone votes for Indy 500 every time!

  • Enter your name - 2nd "COME ON" lol

  • "Highland and Bayside are ficticious and have no affiliation with the Indy 500"

Of course we all knew they were based on Laguna Seca and Long Beach.

  • What time you in Indy 500? my record time is 2'29, 163, playing on normal difficulty. The fastest lap was 36'207. I think of you.

A hug, directly from Pernambuco - Brazil.

  • Where did you get the rom? In my version the car is red/blue

  • You can alter your car's paint job by doing this:

-Press F2 to enter the Test Menu

-Go to "Game Assignments" by pressing F1 until the cursor reaches there, then press F2

-Change your car's color/number by changing "Cabinet ID" to any value between 1(default) and 8(I set mine to 2). Use F1 to move the cursor and press F2 to change the ID of your "machine"

  • Thank you.

  • 1:13 lol yo, u drunk?

  • drafting allows you to pick-up speed and draws you closer to first place, we call it: Slipstream

  • its impossible. The one at campsite was rigged so the timers was 2x faster

  • Great game!I played a lot in the arcade - till bankrupt!

  • Same here. 2 of my local arcades had this game, but one went out of business and the other replaced it with Cruis'n' Exocita(LAME!).

  • Cruis'n' Exotica*

  • @Ace9921 That's a crime!

Replace something Sega with that pile of garbage? WRONG!

  • It's a funny coincidence - in that arcade, there was another game next to the Indy500 machine and that was Cruis'n World! :)

    I liked both though.

  • I think I know Y u were 2nd 4 the high scores, remember when u almost got Rear-Ended? That's probably why :P

  • nice!
