Klaus is rooted in the surrealistic European tradition, and regardless of his huge talent, there was never a space in the American entertainment psyche on a major level for such a bizarre apparition. He was actually more absorbable, in a cultural context, to the glam-rock audiences of 1974 than he is today. Personally, I think he's a fantastic artist, and thanks to all of you who post!
