you can use limewire on ipod and not zune, so ipod wins, mmmm..... free-limewire

I have had a zune 80gb for about 2 years now and it's getting on my nerves... with itunes, is it still $0.99 a song or is there a monthly payment to where you can download as much as you want, like with the zune?

I dont want to pay 99 cent a song and I have about 8000 songs on my zune.

Use torrents, some have comments which gives you some insight on weather they have viruses or not, also some have better file descriptions and names... I used to use p2p but for organization's sake use torrents otherwise p2p is fine.

to be honest i'm not scared of viruses when downloading a file that has over 2000 seeds and 4000 peers, cuz if it had a virus it would not have that many seeds :D, , and ye, it is always useful to read comments ,i always sort the results by "Seeds" or comments :D

theres been a lot of hype about lag on the UIs of early classics......is that still the case, or has it been improved with firmware updates? I need a new ipod and I really want to go with the classic, but if the lag is bad I'd rather go with the nano

Indeed, but the 1st gen ipod touch box was really cool sorta like the iphones which they shoulda stayed with. The nano and shuffle boxes are nice for that kind of small ipod but for the itouch it deserves a bit more class =)

The classic, since it has a mechanical hard drive, will be prone to skipping on songs and videos if you are doing a lot of physical movement. It will fit into your pocket, but you'll probably have some problems with it since you use it while playing basketball. Also, if it falls onto concrete, don't be surprised if it dies.

I am a first year college basketball player, I work out, and run alot. I was hoping you can answer my question if this iPod Classic (160GB) will fall OR even fit in my basketball shorts' pockets for working out.

In the past I've had an iPod Nano (2nd Generation) which fitted well in my pocket for running, OR even playing basketball with the rest of the team. It was un-noticeable, weightless, and NEVER fell out.

How will the classic compare?

If you work out a lot and do a lot of physical movement, then I recommend you get either the iPod touch 32GB or the iPod nano 16GB. The nano is the more scratch resistant of the two, and it can withstand physical movement and shock since it has no moving parts. It's also a lot more portable than the touch and classic. The touch is more fragile than the nano, but less fragile than the Classic. The touch and classic are much less portable since they're a lot bigger.

You wouldn't want the ZuneHD. I went from the iPod Classic 80GB to the Zune 120GB and it was the worst mistake ever. The music store is crap and the device had battery problems. Plus there are numerous other problems with the Zune program itself. Good thing you stuck with the iPod.. plan to pick this up myself once I get money.

man i'm deciding right now between the 160 classic or the 64 touch. But what turns me off about the classic is that most hard drive based ipods breakdown after a period of time. I've had bad experiences with the early 20gb ipod involving hardware failures...

but then again, it does have more storage capacity, battery and costs about 150 bucks less...damn!! idk anymore

I was in the same situation. 64gb for $400 or 160gb for $250...

My iPod video has never failed me though so I was confident the hard drive wouldn't break. I'm sure Apple improved the iPods since the 20gb days.
