@OrcishSlacker G1 And G2 actually werent bad at all. G3 and G3.5 were all about tea parties. EVERY. EPISODE. Everything was good with G1 & G2. G4 is awesome also. But the g3s were horrid. I never watched the show as a kid. I only played with the toys because i had no idea what channel it was on. So i had no idea how repetitive it was.

That's exactly why I try and tell others to cut the previous generation bashing. The awfulness of G3 seems to be what most get exposed to, sadly, so it's kind of understandable. At least it's a good reference point to how good G4 is.

Consider the moral of 'Look Before You Sleep', Friendship is Magic season 1 episode 08, which was that two people who may seem to have little in common can still be friends, especially if they embrace each others differences. So don't hate on people who like G3 even if you don't, and I don't. If they can see something in it you've missed, good for them.

Though i like the FIS pinkie pie the best. The older shows will always be best in my opinion. I liked the stories much better, especially the original. @nandabun OF COURSE it's better. Better than what, the same one pony 50x? The G1-G3 ponies look and act exactly the same (except for the adults and the "newborn twins"). Watch it in black and white and there's no way to tell who's who (besides cutie marks). Simply saying "I'm so stuck up" or "I'm so clumsy" does NOT count as personality. It's one thing that Hasbro saved money by using one mold and different colors to make different ponies, but that's no excuse for homogeneous characters.

@jordinyc the G1's at least had a whole load of poses, although not nearly as many as ponies i will admit, but the G1's did have personalities. it was a little more subtle then FiM - to which the toys infamously look similer - but the G1's did have genuine, imperfect personalities. the G3 cartoons i concider an insult to feminism, but the toys were great :)
