Im sorry to disagree with almost all of you first of all.. I don't believe Travis Warren (new lead singer) is trying to replace or out-do Shannon.. Secondly I don't think they are trying to package this new band off as Blind Melon to try and ride the coattails of their former success. I think the original members of the band and Travis keep the name in memory of Shannon to praise him. I feel Shannon wouldn't have wanted the name to die with him. But that's just my take on that..

fingerkalis, keeping the same name lets fans know that they will be performing a number of the same songs in a similar style. They've had side projects (Unified Theory, etc.) but, since the names haven't been Blind Melon I've known that they are not the same band.

It's not simply convenient; it's logical to keep the name.

Shannon was awesome in the 3 1/2 years blind melon was together they achieved so many goals like going triple platinum with no rain.Also No Rain was #1 on the us mainstream rock and roll chart's they played at Woodstock 94.They also played at lalapalooza back in the 90's.Rolling Stone interviewed them.A fucking great band I think blind melon was one of the greatest band of the 90's.

Great song. Glad they're doing ok with the new vocalist cause this is a great band to be lost. Course it is always hard to replace a fantastic vocalist, but the other guys on the band had their share on the great music of Blind Melon, so cool we still have them around.
