Zeus' original thunderbolts were given to him by the Hekatonkheires and Gigantes, so the argument could easily be made that that's how he was throwing them still.... particularly seeing as this story is primarily based on the Gigantomachy, but for whatever reason, is infused with elements of the Titanomachy as well.
@ImmortalSynn Yeah, I just remembered that, which is why I reopened Youtube. Speaking of Which, I am always curious as to why Hades Helm doesn't get as much attention as Poseidon's Trident and Zeus Thunderbolts. Also I thought it was the Cyclops (The sons of Uranus and Gaia and not the sons of Poseidon) not the Gigantes.
One, the TITANS are not merely giants of stone, and the gods had extreme control over their element of earth, meaning Zeus, Poseidon and Hades each could have done a hell of a lot more then just fire clouds trickles and pebbles. I know this is a childrens vid but could you at least show the fucking gods some respect?!!
Heracles was just another of Zeus' many Many MANY illegitimate sons, that Zeus never really cared about until they had accomplished greatness. I doubt he really had much high esteem for Zeus by that point, let alone felt a paternal bond with him.
actually much of greek mythology is skewed and hercules is not in anyway related to zeus in blood he is merely a historical hero known to be just as powerful and immortal as the gods, a mere mortal that has gained his godhood by his own strength
i didnt say perseus live in the same era all i said was that zeus was not hercules father but zeus was perseus father im sorry if my wording confused you
Your wording didn't confuse me... why you seem to think you have even a remote idea of what you're talking about, certainly confuses the hell outta me though.
greek mitholagy dose confuse me but it would have confused anyone there are sooo many different storys that have got warped over time who knows what was the origanal though i still do not think zues is hercules father as in the legend that i know his fist conntact with the gods was when he tryed to shoot an arrow in to the sun hera sent it back to him thinking that heracles was trying to be like a god. that was the start of hie labours
#2 Hefestus was among the gods already AND he was a son of Zeus and Hera, the most loyal son
#3 The lightning bolts Zeus was shooting were made by Hefestus, in the original story Hercules was on a pegasus, zeus were shooting at the titans all the time and HEFESTUS was behind the zeus making new lighting bolts non-stoping
1) Wrong. Alcyoneus was eldest and leader. Porphyrion was later PROMISED their leadership by Hera if he destroyed Dionysus for her, which he did not achieve.
2) The myths vary. By several accounts Zeus threw him out, not Hera. Others, Zeus never knew of him.
I find it funny how it was actually the Gods who screwed up the village by fighting back. The Titans actually didn't harm the village at all. Another case of the Gods messing everything up for everyone. Yay.
but what i do not understand... it took hercules not more then 2 seconds to free the woman in the chair, why didnt he do that first instead of attacking The Titan King, she could have helped him.
"why didnt he do that first instead of attacking The Titan King, she could have helped him."
Probably because she'd spent his entire life trying to kill him, just for being the illegitimate son of her husband. He had no guarantee that she'd help him, and she didn't even think he'd help her... that's why she looked at him so sadly/ashamed when he freed her.
That's cool. Though I strongly recommend that you read the actual classics, and try not to "learn" much from TV/Movies, as they tend to be heavily modified... just like this one.
@ImmortalSynn yeah i am leaning from the classics as well, or thema from art-hystorie is the greek gods, and they realy interrest me, so i searched for things like those, and i actualy came into these, offcourse i knew pretty much of those stories already, but i still get suprised about how much there is actually made up by those old greek genuises.
The Titans were the parents of the first generation of Olympians (Hestia, Hera, Demeter, Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus), as well as being the mothers of several second-generation Olympians (Athena and Hermes)
@ImmortalSynn I know, but I didn't mean it that way, weren't there female titans like Rhea? Shouldn't a couple of them be....oh....I dunno.....female shaped?
Again, this video is actually about the Gigantomachy (which is why Alcyoneus is the leader) but for whatever reason, it refers to the Gigantes as "Titans"... which is odd, as the series had shown other titans (e.g., Prometheus, Epimetheus, and Atlas), which didn't look anything like the depiction here.
A lot of interpretations of the myths depict Heracles (Hercules) as not exactly proud of the god side of his family...
...but more likely, is the fact that this series went out of its way to avoid depicting familial relationships of the gods, lest the topic of incest arise in a kid's show. So they pretty much steered clear of it, with the exception of mother-child situations like Demeter & Persephone, or Aphrodite & Eros.
what i don't understand is that a god would not that answer from anyone son or not. gods might except no but what hercules did would have been risky look at what aphrodite did to the woman who was said to be more beautiful than her when she had her baby aphrodite made it half bull thus making the minotaur it was half bull because the woman loved bulls mostly white bulls. gods don't take nonsense war like or not.
Holy shit, this series made more ADD induced cuts/changes you so much as blink you're TOTALLY LOST. I mean, why the hell would Hephaestus switch sides like that. THEY WERE WINNING! So what if Jerkules showed up? He didn't even make a dent and wow, entombing an IMMORTAL GOD in rock. Yeah, that'll work. e.e; And *spoiler warning* what the hell is with that ending? Isn't bringing back the DEAD Hades/Thanatos department?
Yes, it's highly modified... but the switching sides part shouldn't be difficult to understand at all.
Should Hercules fight, the opposition loses... so the moment Hephaestus saw Hercules, he knew that the prophesy would go into effect, so he switched sides to get back onto the team that would eventually win. Easy enough.
Ah... That slipped my mind due to the over all WTFitude but now that you mention it. This kind of reminds me of the plot from Disney's Hercules. Hades was given a prediction that Hercules would ruin his plot, "forcing him" in to action, rather than wait til the 18 years went by and get rid of Hercules as a Toddler/2 year old. (Assuming Gods age slower than humans or so I've read.) If Heph left shit alone, the prophesy wouldn't have come true.
You have it backwards, gods age FASTER than humans... and then halt.
Examples are Hermes stealing Apollo's cattle and turning their guts into lyre strings, when he was only a day old; and Artemis turning around and helping her mother give birth to (her twin) Apollo even though she herself had only been born.
Because he's only a demigod, and nearly all demigods were (at least initially) mortal.
Only one of them ever rose to the status of divinity itself, and that was Dionysus... and by most accounts, that's only because he was partially gestated by Zeus after his human mother died. Though some myths do say that Zeus used a piece of a shattered god's heart to originally impregnate his mother, so that's also what did it.
The last one shown in lava is Alcyoneus... who in the classic myths, wasn't even a Titan. For whatever reason, they decided to list him as one here.
Kronos and Rhea are seen nowhere in this series, because again, their inclusion would skirt too closely along the lines of familial relationships between gods-- which this series, except for one episode, took great care to avoid featuring.
I can't help but wonder...How is Zeus shooting Lightning when they were made by Hephaestus?

#1 Titan chiefs name was Kronos
#2 Hefestus was among the gods already AND he was a son of Zeus and Hera, the most loyal son
#3 The lightning bolts Zeus was shooting were made by Hefestus, in the original story Hercules was on a pegasus, zeus were shooting at the titans all the time and HEFESTUS was behind the zeus making new lighting bolts non-stoping
kilstas16 10 months ago
@kilstas16
1) yes, that's been discussed only a few dozen times or so
2) the name's Hephaestus, and while he was loyal to Hera, he wasn't exactly that fond of Zeus
3) Zeus' lightning bolts used for the Titanomachy were made by the first generation Cyclopes, not Hephaestus, who wasn't even born then.
ImmortalSynn 10 months ago 5
@ImmortalSynn
1) The Titan Lord was Kronos, but those were the Giants whose king was Porphyrion. The idiots who made the series simply did not do their homework.
2) Hephaestus was not loyal to Hera, maybe due to the fact that she tossed him off Olympus.
3) Youre right, their names were Arges(Άργης), Steropes(Στερόπης) and Brontes(Βρόντης).
