Evas can be considered robots in the sense that the first story about robots referred to human-like creatures grown in vats to be slaves. Its like how people consider zombies to only equal "undead" with no biological processes at all, but the first zombies were of course living humans with their will stolen.

I personally don't think they meant to be Adam and Eve. I think it's the world Shinji always wanted - no people there to hurt him, yet he is there with his beloved. There are some speculations the last Asuka is in fact a Asuka/Rei/Misato mix (bandages, eye color). Other speculation is Shinji lived for a couple of hours on that planet, then lied down and surprisingly saw Asuka beside him - the first person to return from LCL to this world. There ain't one single way to interpret NGE.

I really couldn't say if you would like it. I liked it, but it isn't anywhere near FMA. Evangelion I think has a fair share of flaws especially in the execution. But the concept itself and the themes, the thought behind it,...those are all excellent.
Also I think it is more enjoyable around age 10-15, as it is really epic at that age :D and you tend to forget about the flaws. Still it's enjoyable and I recommend it, even if it was just to know this type anime exists as well.
Just like to say, name typo aside, this vid is BOSS! (Means good in Liverpool! :P)
And contrary to 7Tigris' comment, I think this anime is actually one of the most mature ones out there, and I don't just mean for the sex and violence. The plot's just too cdark and complicated for anyone below 14/15. The psychological horror would also kinda make me think twice before giving a DVD of this to a kid.

if you're talking about the TV ending, it's basically just Shinji coming to terms with himself as Instrumentality progresses, then deciding to continue living despite life's hardships etc. etc., thus regaining his human form. it's implied that everyone else went through the same thing. End of Evangelion is just everything else that's happening while Shinji is being his usual confused indecisive self (it was supposed to be the aired ending, but the studio ran out of money).

the orginal tv show went 26 episodes . death and rebirth and the end of evangelion are a retelling of the first 23 episodes the two movies which saved toho's ass are an alternate telling of the story.

Also, for a complete mindrape how about this- Rebuild could be a sequel rather than a remake (Red sea at the End of Eva, blood on the moon, 'People can come back if they want to') though this is a little far fetched so I lack faith in it.

This series was good but later ones started to show some bloody gross and absurd profoundness(look at these scenes) that lead to nowhere but mental disorder. While others may find it entertaining I can only see despair, reality-phobia and insanity. The psychology of the author made me wonder was he spared in a nuke attack or what?

The answer simply put is NO! Currently he is working on a rebuild of Evangelion. The creator use to be a rather depressed person and it showed in his work. But now he has a family and is a much happier person. He is doing a rebuild of evangelion that is suppose to be a bit less complicated and less dark.

I thought about the Rei like bandages, and I realised that Asuka actually sustains the injuries from the end of her fight with the mass production series EVA. Also, for a complete mindrape how about this- Rebuild could be a sequel rather than a remake (Red sea at the End of Eva, blood on the moon, 'People can come back if they want to') though this is a little far fetched so I lack faith in it.

I like the outlook/ethics of many anime too. Japanese people are awesome they really work and dthink hard.
However, I don't like this one although I used to like it. it is a bit too violent. Also, I feel the profound logic behind the story is a little too far from the reality and thus hard to appreciate.

Shinseiki Evangelion (Neon Genesis Evangelion) was originally aired in October 04, 1995 and finished n March 27, 1996. Death & Rebirth (movie) launched in March 19, 1997, while End of Evangelion launched right 4 months later.

This series was good but later ones started to show some bloody gross and absurd profoundness(look at these scenes) that lead to nowhere but mental disorder. While others may find it entertaining I can only see despair, reality-phobia and insanity. The psychology of the author made me wonder was he spared in a nuke attack or what?
PS: find a good cartoon which can inspire/encourage you such as Slam Dunk.

Personally I love the deep psychological stuff in a lot of anime.
I often forget how awesomely deep anime is until I start watching.
As a female, that's the reason I keep watching. Just watching giant robot-monsters fighting would get old very fast.

The answer simply put is NO! Currently he is working on a rebuild of Evangelion. The creator use to be a rather depressed person and it showed in his work. But now he has a family and is a much happier person. He is doing a rebuild of evangelion that is suppose to be a bit less complicated and less dark.
