I wish EQ was re-released with everything in tact, 100% the way it was, but with overhauled graphics and a one zone world.

That would be epic.

Or...at the very least a new MMO that has hardmode servers. Even wow would be fun if there was a ruleset server with no addons/penalties for dying/world drop and crafted spells only.

EqEmulator runs different servers, one of them ist project1999. Theres other servers like PEQ with custom content or some sort of pvp server. But P99 is the only classic server, and has by far the highest population.

Even with the new expansion it still looks like the old game, something will take over WoW soon - just like what happened to EQ really. The game will exist but no one will be ever online. I miss EQ when it was busy, it was better than WoW - but WoW in the early days was better than now.

all it needs now is more interesting Pvp, More exploring awards to get everyone to view their whole creation not just parts. I think the interaction and animations of fighting is just dull and boring expecially for the warriors and melee class's. Basically if they did that make a progression Deity- PvP server and only charge 1/3 the monthly fee if not half then I would consider putting it on my computer again. Just to expessive for old news in social gaming.

They have the (undiscovered) items databased and when it is discovered, an announcement goes out to the "server control center" and it is then listed as discovered. All they had to do was do a auto-count of all the items still listed as undiscovered.

EQ1 was a great game. I played from original game through LDoN. The game peaked IMHO during Velious a truly magnificent expansion that brought about a true endgame, nice graphics and beautiful zones. The introduction of the alternate advancement system was a bad idea. No one can come back to the game now because of the unbalance it created. You can have 1 person with 3-4k aa's and another player with 0 aa's which is completely out of balance for char's of the same level.

actually soe is brilliant and has come up with several soulutions to this very problem...first off there will be a 51/50 serevr where you start out at lvl 51 with 50 aa's.......and then you get aa's much fast if you have very few then if you had lots!!! come back to eq we all miss you!

Well, that just shows the dedication level of people. They can't just give out AAs to people. You have to earn them. What if you max out your level, what should you do then? Make another character? Rinse and Repeat? The AA system was introduced to both benefit the characters as well as the players and SoE. Characters get better stats, more hp, etc. Players don't get as bored easily. SoE gets more subscriptions. This is not a console game that can be maxed out. It never ends. :) Hence the name.
