Several times he gave "directives" like "it's all yours" when not really necessary. Lest we conjecture too much, it's rather stepping on toes of each other than whatever "deeper" going on . Brussels '79 interview had lots of eye-rolling & not all directed at the interviewer!

This is evident in the Magic Tour concert in Wembley. I don't know how he managed to correct that by the time of the Mr Bad Guy recording and The Miracle album.
