Excelllent piece of equipment, with an astonishing amount of varying tones! tried this out at my local shop (Fox UK Music) and they do a great deal on the pedal, it is the top range up from the 400 and 300 however there is not a great amount of difference between the 3 different models.
Absolutely GREAT! Now if you could upload your patch settings and explain them, it would REALLY be awesome. Your work is one of the reasons that I bought the 500.
1) Hard to say. Better than RP, haven't tried rack eleven. AxeFX - sounded similar to me, but I imagine there's more "stuff" in AxeFx.
2) Hard to say innit? It depends on a lot of factors. I haven't played all the modeled amps in the HD500. However, I find the Marshall models run through a tube power amp section do sound very close. I haven't tried the other one much hooked up to a power amp section.
i'been following you since your old sx's guitar videos ! i m froma rgentina sorry for my english but i m pretty sure that you are a great artist and you should make and soloist album with friend or all by yourself
@rotren Well okey. I tried the UK 70's amp model (which I believe you've demoed) on the valvetronix and fell in love with the sound of it. If I remember right it's based of the high treble channel of a '69 marshall plexi. Do you have access to both the normal channel and the high treble channel of the amp on the Pod HD?
i wish you can post more vids of your pod hd 500 demos. i like how you feature the dynamics of the low gain models. most demos feature the crazy high gain sims. more power to you sir!
Well, I have to say this....I never liked playing with things like the pod due to getting to a gig and it just doesn't sound right, or like a friend of mine says, it sounded better at home BUT!! This is truely a great sound. Especially the groweling power chords. I have to ad that this guy, Rob?, it f**king great! Smooth, natural, and doesn't come off as some arrogant jerk showing off! I'm with you guys! I'll be in line with the rest of you when his album comes out! Great playing great sound!
Fabulous musicianship, Robert. Thank you for sharing your great gift with us. I played this a couple times before reading the reviews. You wrote this piece?!! Its simplicity gives it huge power. I agree with all the other comments. Great stuff!
@rotren Maybe if you make more "original" stuff like this (I know everything you actually do is original.. haha) and you can get people excited about it, you can offer the tracks on iTunes. There are tons of people who do that on YouTube. And with your subscriber base, you can just ask them if they'd be interesting in buying anything. If you get positive results... put something in the itunes store =)
I hoped you would show us some Licks using the POD HD 500. I loved your videos on the Spider Valve MK II. I hope you'll do some for the HD as well. One question: How did you connect your Pod? Is it straight into your audio interface? Or is there an amp involved?
I really like your gear videos (lessons as well). Please keep on doing them!
Nice work!

Great sound and brilliant execution. You could put the parameters of the patch? I have one like yours but it sounds like me and tired of wine.

Robert, smooth playing. I have a few questions about the HD500 which I would appreciate your opinion.
1)How do you rate this modeller against the others e.g. Tonelab's, Digitech RP, Axe FX, rack eleven ?
2)How close can the modeller get to the real thing if played through a tube amp power section?
3)What would you say is the best application of the HD500: recording, live through a power amp/speaker or live thorugh FRFR PA?
Cheers.

3) Hard to say again... but I would say all 3!

Robert, awesome! Not only the sound of the amp but the playing itself.
One question: What do you use to record yourself on-the-fly and then solo on top of what you just played?

Oh my goodness!!
What are your Classic Distortion settings for the solo?
I've been trying to get that sound for the past year since I got it and I haven't succeeded.
