  • Nice work!

  • great music...i am from brazil in south America Recife and i think that this video was great ...

  • Great sound and brilliant execution. You could put the parameters of the patch? I have one like yours but it sounds like me and tired of wine.

  • How big is the speaker cab you are playing through? Tube power amp?????

  • @richedie No amp or speaker - it's straight into the computer.

  • 1:09 is the money shot of contentment.

  • This demo is fake! He's supposed to be playing... Not!!! On 0:47 you hear vibrato, but he doesn't play it...

  • Absolutely GREAT! Now if you could upload your patch settings and explain them, it would REALLY be awesome. Your work is one of the reasons that I bought the 500.

  • Rotren loving the groove and rif you got going on here! Ripping sound.

  • Damn, I was I hadn't bought the Boss GT-10...

  • No offense but this sounds exactly like a Boss DS-1 going to a DI-input to me

  • Hi Robert! really great sound, but did u ever try the tc electronic nova system? Witch machine is better? What do you recommend?Thank's

  • You rule so hard man. Great playing!

  • Robert, smooth playing. I have a few questions about the HD500 which I would appreciate your opinion.

1)How do you rate this modeller against the others e.g. Tonelab's, Digitech RP, Axe FX, rack eleven ?

2)How close can the modeller get to the real thing if played through a tube amp power section?

3)What would you say is the best application of the HD500: recording, live through a power amp/speaker or live thorugh FRFR PA?

    Cheers.

  • @mrthorbs Thanks - tough questions!

    1) Hard to say. Better than RP, haven't tried rack eleven. AxeFX - sounded similar to me, but I imagine there's more "stuff" in AxeFx.

    2) Hard to say innit? It depends on a lot of factors. I haven't played all the modeled amps in the HD500. However, I find the Marshall models run through a tube power amp section do sound very close. I haven't tried the other one much hooked up to a power amp section.

    3) Hard to say again... but I would say all 3!

  • Robert! Nice stuff, man!

  • i'been following you since your old sx's guitar videos ! i m froma rgentina sorry for my english but i m pretty sure that you are a great artist and you should make and soloist album with friend or all by yourself

    it would be great

    !

  • Nice Solo

  • killer tones, great tastefull playing

  • This model sounds like it would be great for getting that old school danzig tone.

  • That's nice!

  • Nice!!!

  • recorded miked or direct?thanks

  • @MrFox7stringking Direct.

  • Robert..... The smile at the end of your video says it all. Classic rock rules. Excellent playing!!!!

  • you need a band with another rythm guitar player

You have to do the solos, you are awesome

  • wow, great playing...

  • Does this modeled plexi sound better than that on the vox tonelabs/valvetronix amps?

  • @WTig3r Way better than the first generation Valvetronix. Not sure about the Tonelab.

  • @rotren Well okey. I tried the UK 70's amp model (which I believe you've demoed) on the valvetronix and fell in love with the sound of it. If I remember right it's based of the high treble channel of a '69 marshall plexi. Do you have access to both the normal channel and the high treble channel of the amp on the Pod HD?

  • i own both, it is light years better

  • i wish you can post more vids of your pod hd 500 demos. i like how you feature the dynamics of the low gain models. most demos feature the crazy high gain sims. more power to you sir!

  • That was brilliant, sir :)

  • Nice demo. Great playing and tones.

  • DO you have a GP5 file for this too?

  • Robert, you MUST record an album!!!

  • great sound ! is this directly to your pc by usb ?

  • Love that lick from 0:28 - 0:34! Any chance of a tab for it? I could die happy playing licks like that!

  • Why are you so good?

  • Well, I have to say this....I never liked playing with things like the pod due to getting to a gig and it just doesn't sound right, or like a friend of mine says, it sounded better at home BUT!! This is truely a great sound. Especially the groweling power chords. I have to ad that this guy, Rob?, it f**king great! Smooth, natural, and doesn't come off as some arrogant jerk showing off! I'm with you guys! I'll be in line with the rest of you when his album comes out! Great playing great sound!

  • R U Kidding !!!!! I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Love that hagstrom growl.

  • Robert, awesome! Not only the sound of the amp but the playing itself.

One question: What do you use to record yourself on-the-fly and then solo on top of what you just played?

  • Oh my goodness!!

What are your Classic Distortion settings for the solo?

I've been trying to get that sound for the past year since I got it and I haven't succeeded.

    Dm

  • Fabulous musicianship, Robert. Thank you for sharing your great gift with us. I played this a couple times before reading the reviews. You wrote this piece?!! Its simplicity gives it huge power. I agree with all the other comments. Great stuff!

  • Is that an older molder hagstrom or a new one?

  • @tcbonline New one.

  • Excellent sounding cut, Robert. I can't wait to see more POD HD500 demo's from you.

    Now about that upcoming album...

  • The best HD500 sound I have heard yet. Yes, you should make a recording. I always enjoy your reviews and playing. Peace!

  • Sounds really sweet.......

  • Very solid as usual Robert, keep these coming !

  • @TheSlackler I wrote it last night. Like it?

  • @rotren Love it! :D

  • @rotren what a song! please do a lesson for it!

  • @rotren hey thats awesome :D can you write tabs or something? its aweesome :D

  • So...

Where's your debut album again, Rob?

  • @Vanguard448 Hrrm, non-existing, I'm afraid. Should I make an album with stuff like this? I wonder if anyone would buy it?

  • @rotren I would! :)

  • @rotren Maybe if you make more "original" stuff like this (I know everything you actually do is original.. haha) and you can get people excited about it, you can offer the tracks on iTunes. There are tons of people who do that on YouTube. And with your subscriber base, you can just ask them if they'd be interesting in buying anything. If you get positive results... put something in the itunes store =)

Great work once again, I watch all your new vids!

  • @rotren I'd definitely buy it!!!

  • @rotren I would definitely buy it ^^

  • I advise everyone to listen to it in 720p. Makes a difference.

  • You rock!

  • Great tune!

  • Hi Robert.

I hoped you would show us some Licks using the POD HD 500. I loved your videos on the Spider Valve MK II. I hope you'll do some for the HD as well. One question: How did you connect your Pod? Is it straight into your audio interface? Or is there an amp involved?

I really like your gear videos (lessons as well). Please keep on doing them!

    Max

  • holy f*ck you keep amazing me robert!

we dont have great guitarist like you over here
