There's no need to use the 'no shutdown' command in the Sub Interface... when you do it in the physical interface it drops all the sub int :P just saying....
@InsaneMetalSoldier Your correct, on the initial setup you do not need to bring the sub-interfaces up. Just a habit I guess.
On the other hand if the configuration is already done, the sub-interface can be placed in shutdown mode, so i find its useful to make sure all ports are up.
Hi...Why do we use subinterfaces and how are they beneficial? I would be grateful if i can get a document on this.
