I hooked up my HPdv9000 laptop to my lcd tv (via HDMI output), It worked great but

their was no sound coming out of the TV? Any ideas?

I can NOT figure out how to get my DV7-1130us HDMI to connect to my new MLT3221 Memorex 32" LCD HDTV, did you do anything funky or just use a VGA cable?

I used HDMI out. It won't just show up right away. You have to go to NVIDIA view and detect the monitors.

@saborguerito depending on the brand of laptop you hold function (Fn) on a toshiba i know its F8 im not sure about the other brands but look through F1-12 you should see one of those has a square with rounded of corners so just hold Fn and the button i just told you about and it should work, or some hdtv's have a VGA input on the back just for the purpose of using an HDTV as a computer monitor

u need a HD capable graphics card, computers that have one will have a HDMI socket already

hey wen u hook the laptop on to an lcd...it automatically gives u the option to make it extended monitor or main monitor etc..buh wen u wana turn off the hdmi connected mode...do u jus take tak eteh connection from teh tv to the laptop off? or like is there a setting which safely takes it off first like a usb...then u remove the connection?

question my dv6500t with the nvidia 8400m gs when i hooked it up to my brothers tv via HDMI sound didnt go to the TV did sound go through for you by the way mine is broken so i cant test right now lol

go to the sound icon in tray at bottom right, right click and go to playback devices. select the SPDIF interface as default instead of speakers

Hey Boamuro, i have a hpdv6500t with HDMI and i want to connect it to a 46" sony bravia v series(not full HD,just HD ready...) lcd tv.i have the hdmi cable also...how do i do it?simple plug in both sides? or do i need to set special resolutions and all those settings???i didnt wanna try anything cuz it might screw up the new tv... thanks

Just connect the cables and go to your Nvidia settings in your system tray - you should see an option that says "Sony TV" under display somewhere.
