No, they aren't real. Two lightsabers with blades that were made to fight with. Machined metal blades I'll bet. The sounds and SFX were added in later to make the lightsabers look and sound "real" but actually aren't.
The same video special FX and sounds they used for the lightsaber scenes in the Star Wars movies and the hilts were made by Ryan Weiber and Michael "Dorkman" Scott. The ones who actually created the videos and the sole idea for the Ryan vs. Brandon series.
