Without love it cannot be seen - Without love it might seem like an incredibly tragic ending, but as long as there's love everyone can be having a good time in the Golden Land regardless of what the "Truth" is.
as Dante Alighieri, Battler will immortalize his Beatrice with a book and be happy in them after their golden land: a paradise. A good conclusion for a work that was inspired by the divine comedy written just from giving
@K33P5T4Y Well if you go on this vid that obviously says EP 8 on it well of course people are going to talk about it and spoil. So what did you expect really?
@NightmareNny777 he might have expected to be able to listen to music without it being spoiled? I'll admit I only read the comment because I scrolled down so as to not read the subtitles because I didn't want to spoil it. I don't really care though. As you said, I expected the risk when I followed a link that said ep 8
The true nature of magic is a gentle embellishment. It can take a sad event and make it look happy. But when you take away the magic, you get a tragedy where the entire Ushiromiya family died except for Eva and Battler. The games may have been a wild fun roller coaster ride, but once the true nature of magic is revealed, the player should realize that there can be no truly happy ending in reality. But this IS a happy ending for fantasy.
@Skyrius Well if we look at the ending from a real perspective, then it is happy since Ange finally reunites with Battler, no matter his condition, she just wanted for him to be alive. Furthermore, the truth of that day is hidden thanks to Hachijo, what was it that happened to the characters from the cat box? I have no idea since they seem to disappear in the City of Books, but they are all reunited in the golden land. Did Ange become a game master and invite Battler because she is a witch?
@SFGK .."Real perspective". This is MAGIIIIICCCCC AHAHAHAHAAAAA.
But seriously, there's no point in trying to explain it.
As I see it, though, "Mr. Tohya" with Battler's memories sees the children [of the rebuilt Fukuin House] in the replica of the mansion's hall.. And this will have nothing to do with Ange, of course, because this is just Battler. Or Tohya. I guess Battler's memories finally feel at home in Tohya's head as he "sees" the characters from the Golden Land.
@kharkarus Now, although I started hating Ange more since she got annoying in EP8, there is no way she would've done such a thing.
That would be sad.. I mean, she'd probably do that if it was "trick," but not "magic."
I'm pretty sure, though, that Battler's memories in Tohya's mind finally found peace when he saw the replica of the hall, and so he found himself in the "Golden Land" with everyone..
In reality, Tohya [& Ikuko w/ Ange] are entertaining the children happily, now with peace at mind..
@EerieIceMage Ok, just hope that EP 1-6 aren't also delusions from Tohya's mind. I prefer to believe that Battler actually fought against Dlanor, Erika, and Bernkastel than everything being a fight between Battler and Tohya's mind. Not everything can be a delusion!!!!!! Meta Battler (Lord Battler) was AWESOME!!!
@EerieIceMage Well, both tea parties are unblocked if you choose Magic, so if you choose that (and only if you do) all is magic. I haven't tried the trick option yet, but sincerely, I'm hesitating ._.
@kharkarus I know exactly how you felt. I opened the magic ending, knowing very well the trick ending is probably 'ending where you cannot unlearn'. And i really don't want to know the trick ending truth since i believe it's probably something i wish i'll unlearn about ._.
@EerieIceMage True, I'd rather believe in the MAGIC till the very end, that Beatrice killed everyone and challenged Battler to a game of wits. However I am so fucked up and don't know why I crave for the truth of that day :( Im still thinking of the red when I should be satisfied that Ange is with Battler (Tohya). The more I try to accept the magic, the more I want to figure out the truth of that day and who were the real culprits. Nonetheless I love Umineko all the way. I want to read HANE!!!
@SFGK It helps that the story encourages you to believe in magic, so long as you actually understand the heart of the story as well. The final episode made it clear that "intellectuals" who side with Erika would only ever see the "truth" in terms of conspiracy, murder, and culprits(as evidenced by how Ange turns out in the Trick ending). Magic allows us to imagine everyone's souls at rest in the Golden Land, their faults overcome and dignity protected by Beatrice's mystery for all eternity.
that whether you choice to hold on tight or just let go, what is best say goodbye now but watch u grow old.......
wether you choose to love with all your heart as long as its your choice and that it is you who belive in your truth..... THis is a great mystery and has been fantasy-esque... BUt Choose to read the other book on the self, next to the one you read, and you will know the true story of falling in love and all the horror and beauty that that the risk , LOVE is RED :)
this way i can read it once and have the best adventure ive ever encounterd
Knowing That i did that Adventure with my best friend.
Read it through again as a romantic love and you still have to decide, if you are gonna be romantic love than you can EXPErience true love as you fall in love and witness every tier we climb or to the decent and how cold the ice is here :) IF we choose or stumble upon that choice we must decide hold on tight or grab her tight and then hope and have faith
just enjoy it.... but know that you cant surive without the person that has the sibling love the SHannon kannon stuff. SO decide to scarifice yourself for your loved one or decide to watch them grow old and die forever,,,, who would you decide to be?? featherine or battler at the end? IN THE END the point wasnt about a gender defect or at that stuff, they wanted people to read this while thinking of who they love and who loves them. THen everyone shines they all are butterflys :)
7 determines if you are doing a fantasy or mystery, will you end up with yasu in mystery, or will you end up with featherine which gets you to link to EPISODE 5. She IF you decide featheine in the fantasy way , it wiill be the mystery of 1-4....Which explains the wierdness in 5-7 but alot of the word stuff is explained. IF you decide REAL YASu is Claire................which is the true mysstery riddle of all this. ..... the real yasu would have no meaning anymore therefore not beatrice=yes
umineko is love every character is a type of love and that is the KEY what exatly type of love resenantes in your heart and soul. SO for her to take the golden Path the golden truth....... i dont see how better u can end this. but what i like about this ending now is that everything is in place for a different type of reading. If u read 5-8 and deduce she s doing the erika thing 5-6 is over. but if u go back to 7 after u can decide if that was a story of fiction or real, also the mysteryversion
EVa showed that you can choose, and she choose to protect the fact that her mother was the culprit and duped her family. SO she lived in shame so that her family could live on at least , the truth was not exposed protected the love................... She did not let anyone expose the true heart of her family but she was willing to live on but ange still had no way to learn of love so she set out. to find her own..................and this is the story of her journey
NO matter if you do the mystery to find beatrice or featherine or do the fantasy way to meet them YOU can win but as long as you arent apart........from the sibling love they exp-lained in 6...... you can make it look real like erika would like batter.......but it rep[resents featherine's love or u can make it ange sibling love, youll get to surive BUT have no siblings alive. u have to chhose between SIBLing love bond or your Romantic love bond. U can have one so that is 4 ways.
as soon as ange wakes up or the disbief is gone the goldne land can be summoned. If she starts to belive its over . Thats why battle doesnt wanna give her the truth caus eyeah she can stay her with all of them there in that party for ever but she knows its not the truth..............as soon as she gets the truth=rudulf=kyrie and battler is the culprit see since he didnt murder anyone all he did was buy time when ange was late getting the kids to wander around the place why the 2 go get the gold
hermaphrodite injuries from the fall....????........... we had to come up with all of tHAT TO RSK KNOWING the who. BuT LOOK WHAT WE GET SOMETHING KNOW ONE LIKES AND WANTS FOR AN ANSWER but when you read it alll backwards whether1-4 or 5-8........... battler shows that trying to put it all back together again like humpty dumpty 5-7 show that if you have YOU have to have trust of the other to make it grow, but beatrice can never come back. Just do what you believe in that is THE RED....
SO if you do the EPisode 5 you realize hat the reason even if ERIKA HAS THE TRUE RED and still loses is because no matter how much she loves him he cant be her husband. If you read 5-8 back as a full stroy then it is obvious that they were making a party FOR ange but they showed up a day late. What is ange doing in 8? solving the riddle but its just a cover so if u read it backwards its the story of how AUAUand batter came here together as a couple, or as siblings.. JUSt .............
THis is how it works...........anyone try to leave the island before the time limit=suspension of disbelief..... If you believe in something to be true it is SAID in RED. HOWEVER there was A Logic errOR...BECAUSE NO MATTER HOW BAd erika wants to marry batter or beatrice wants to be with him ...................if ange wakes up the dream is over. DO YOU actually think this yasu is the culprit >?? LOL ALL that Bern was showing is that everyone would trash that yasu into any type of answer
I won't lie...I was both content yet disappointed with the ending/s. Content in that they were good, but disappointed in that I wanted a happy ending...or at least an ending in which Battler could've beat the game and one himself a chance to make things right and prevent the death of his family. Basically, I just wanted an ending where the Ushiromiya family didn't end up killing each other.
Though you stumbled in the end, you will always have a very special place in my heart. I hope that Ryukishi will continue weaving incredible stories, and I hope that they are really wonderful. Though, I'm not sure if anything will keep me nearly as captivated from beginning to end.
Well, I've given myself closure. ~ See you when something else cries ~
It's sad everyone else died. Although Beato and Battler tried to commit suicide together, only one of them succeeded. Battler, growing into old age while regaining his memories and writing the stories, could finally go to the Golden Land to be with Beato and everyone else... together... forever...
I keep watching when Battler and Beato go to drown together.. So.. sad..
Then I watch this, where they end up in the Golden Land...
@EerieIceMage I thought that the Beato and Battler scene of October 6th 1986 was an illusion, and that there were 2 Battlers, one who went down with Beato (Ushiromiya Battler) and the other who became Tohya. I have understood everything, even that the 2 endings are not the same and cannot connect. However the final reunion, the one where Ange gathers all the "children" (I have no idea what was happening here) and they are all the characters from the cat box greeting Battler into the golden land.
Damn! I love the story but I can't play the games! Does anyone know where can I read the story? I've watched the anime, but that's just one part of the story... I want so much to know how they came to this...
@juzinhabio89 You'll have to buy two of the games to read all of them. (Episode 4, which contains all previous question arcs from the anime, and this one, Episode 8, which includes all previous Chiru arcs.) Then you would go to Witch Hunt's site and download the English translation. (You can also buy the games digitally directly from witch hunt too, just click DVD.)
witch-hunt . com/stage.html
(Remove spaces)
The entirety of Episode 1 is free, so you can play that first to see if you like it.
@willardhwright It is true that he said that, though here's my theory. 'Umineko no Naku Koro Ni: Rei, will not be created, but something else that is similar. Perhaps with how they've been going interactive with their most recent creations (EP.8 & Ougon Musou Kyoku), we may be in for yet another interactive surprise where it allows us to place ourselves in Rokkenjima. My reasoning for this is from Bernkastel talking to the reader at one point, telling US not to bore her."
So ... the culprit is this 'explosion'? How did the island explode? :S & what happened to Bern? I saw her getting really pissed off int he end of the VN, lol.
The culprit is Kyrie. In EP7 you find out Kinzo rigged the whole island with explosives. The adults solved the riddle together and ended up killing each other, with Kyrie and Rudolf surviving. They activated the bomb and killed off the cousins and servants. Eva, not quite dead, kills Kyrie and Rudolf. Battler runs off to find Beatrice (Yasu/Shannon) and they jump into the ocean. Battler survives and loses his memory.
@willardhwright I agree! I think Eva is so far my most favorite character... I thought I liked Ange better, but... now seeing how she's been acting so horrible towards her... ugh...
@LiveeLoveeLaughh Hahaha... I don't know if you know about the story about Eva, but if you don't know, you will certainly start to idolize her. this is why Eva is called "The batman" on internet.
Basically, the reason she was cruel with Ange is because she wanted Ange to think that she is the culprit. Because she knew that Ange wouldn't withstand the "truth" (of ep 8).
@willardhwright And according to Eva, this was better for her to think that she may have killed her relatives, rather than knowing that Kyrie said that she always hated Ange, that Kyrie and Rudolf are killers, and that even Battler isn't so perfect (even if he didn't kill anyone).
So, for the sake of Ange, she decided that this will be her burden and she took responsability for everything, hiding the truth.
I hated Eva for a while, but I must admit that this was... wow.
@Ander0072originalv2 She was supposed to be dead. But she survived.Probably because no vital spot was hit, fortunately. And yeah, she kills Kyrie. We don't see her killing Rudolf,if I remember correctly, but everything also lead to this; so we can assume that it is the case..
About "what it is", we don't know... Most people are thinking that it is the "real world"... But even in ep8, when Kyrie/rudolf/battler are official "bad guys", it is still presented as a last game of farewell by Bernkastel..So it's open and confusing, take your pick...
@shunkwugga Nope. Yasu activated the bomb. Kyrie didn't disactive it because it was more useful for them. It doesn't change a lot of things, but Yasu is not completely white.
Well, Bern/character in umi is based on a cat. And Lambda/character is based on a cake. Some Bern and lambda-fanboys people still think that the meta-world exists aside.
>>Sane fans of Umineko comprising of how many people in the total Umienko fanbase?
Honestly, A LOT of people. Especially those who already did read it.
Love for a filthy eunch who's literally so butthurt he wants to murder everyone he considered family just because he's too retarded to think of anal, oral, and strapons?
Umineko faggots are the absolute worst of the worst. I was hoping for Battler to smash Beato's skull in at some point to murder her forever. It's just so ridiculous for the exact same shit that happened in Episode 3 to be seen as "OMG SO HAPPY TEE UNDERSCORE TEE" now. Oh, and Umineko went ultra shitty after BT died.
@Nerdblockevasionify Oh, and the whole Ange/Bern/Erika plot that makes THEM out to be the villain for tearing down the delusions of psychopaths.
Of course, none of this shit matters because absolutely nothing in Umineko DID happen. Ikuko just wrote another 2 shitty epilogues in honor of Ange who fell from a skyscraper in 1998.
@shunkwugga Sane fans of Umineko comprising of how many people in the total Umienko fanbase? I'm no survey analyst, but judging from the most highly-rated comments, I'm pretty sure they're in the absolute minority. I'm just referring to the Western audience in this instance, mind you.
The Japanese rightfully hated it for not only giving no resolution, but for mocking readers who expected one. Oh, and there are some funny parallels with BT's demise and Umineko's plummet after EP5.(spergrant)
@Nerdblockevasionify No, I don't count them dying and "ascending to a higher plane" as true resolution. Bern was right to mock Battler and the rest of the cast.
Anyway, about them parallels... After BTo died, Ryu admitted he lost "The joy of writing". I sure would too if the guy who motivated me into writing in the first place and acted as my editor kicked the bucket. In any event, Battler tried to "Resurrect" BT but only gained a hollow shell. Similarly, Ryu07 tried to revive BT via "Tohya".
@Nerdblockevasionify Speaking of Umineko "Theories", the "theory" that BT was the ghostwriter for Umineko and Ryu07 tried to pick up the pieces was confirmed by EP8 where we got to see a bit of Ryu07's dream world. With BT still around, Tohya got plenty of advice from Ikuko, who was the real catalyst for helping him uncover his memories, and essentially the true writer of Umineko. However, just as she said she would create multiple endings that would both be valid, we can assume that to mean...
@Nerdblockevasionify That Ryukishi acknowledges BT will never return for him, just as both endings are equally fictional. The route he wrote for ReWrite got slammed by people who played the trial, and I suspect the reason for its delay is partially due to the fact he can't think of a story that doesn't involve time loops and he hasn't been able to finish it yet. Hopefully his relevance vanishes after the next comiket when people realize "Umineko Rei" won't add anything at all.
@Nerdblockevasionify And no, I'm not mad. If anything, I am proud of myself for finally having abandoned the series after EP5 and feasting on the corpse like a vulture.
Thing is, ep8 is GREAT. Really. But it is reat as a RANDOM anime/manga. But considering umineko 1-7... No. Just no. As an umineko chapter, ep8 is horrible.
anyway, 5 was slow, but good, 6 was good to me but questionable; ep7 was the BEST episode so far.. and also the WORST sometimes.
About rei, who knows. It will NOT give a straight answer. But it could have a "I TROLLED YOU WITH EP8 HAHAHA!" part, at least. who knows.
@Nerdblockevasionify I didn't see this confirmed with ep8, personally. It is really up to your interpretation.
Fact is, Ryukishi is a good writer. But like a lot of writers, he don't know how to end it's story.
And I was NOT expecting an answer. he ALWAYS said that he will nOT give one. But I was expecting something better than THIS. Seriously, even the ending of the FIRST season of higurashi in ANIME is a masterpiece compared to this.
@LinkinLawliet Yes, it is fine if you can check it. I solely relied on an Italian to English dictionary, so there might be some mistakes. I changed some words so that they would seem to fit more to a translation rather than lyrics. (ex: La sofferenza è svanita lontano-> The suffering and gone far->The pain has disappeared; Riposa, riposa in pace nella tomba-> Rest, rest in peace in tomb-> Rest, rest in peace in your sepulcherl; ect) Sorry I could not provide an accurate translation as you say.
WOW!! The song is so magical but the ending is quite sad but still beautiful. I wonder if this part of umineko in anime. The ending is quite different from Higurashi though because it had a good ending. Oh I heard that Lambadadelta turned into a cake. Why and what happened? And if she turned into a cake what happened to Bernkastel? Can anyone tell me the answer if you know?
@MsGothlover SPOILER: Lambdadelta was killed by Featherine when she was fighting vs Bernkastel. Then, Bernkastel confronts Battler and Ange loosing the fight (Although she doesn't die), in the end it's said that Featherine revived Lambda somewhere.
@Freud18561939 In the Tea Party Bernkastel sews up Lambda's body back together. She is able to live even though she was torn to pieces because her body is made of cake and sweets.
Oh, you put the lyrics! Only one thing, it was Maruko from the Ars Magica translation group to transcript the song, not Azumi-kun, she just cut and paste the lyrics, translating them to French...
I think you should give the credits to Maruko ^^ Look here:
Oh, you put the lyrics! Only one thing, it was Maruko from the Ars Magica translation group to transcript the song, not Azumi-kun, she just cut and paste the lyrics, translating them to French...
It's sad that Ange will never get her family back. But seriously, Ange should have known that the truth will never bring her family back. I wonder though if she'll be able to forgive Eva for hiding the truth from her. Because it's obviously justified.
Well Higurahi did get some bonus stories...I'd like some on Ange's life in those 12 years or while Battler was with Toya or wt happened with Rosa's husband. Some more stuff on Erika would be good too :)
I have not seen EP8 myself, but from the spoilers and all I have been able to sum up much of the ending. It is indeed sad, but at the ending it is sweet. I couldn't ask any more for an ending and it's best if the catbox is remained unwritten, for eternity. ;)

I hate my isp so much right now,,, I was gone from the internet for a week and a have and I missed the first day of the release of this game... Dammit I have being the last to know things...
You know, a happy ending was expected (wished) for 2 reasons: 1. Happy endings are happy, and 2. If higurashi had one, why umineko couldn´t?. However I think the point of umineko was more of accepting the tragedy, in higurashi the goal was to achieve a happy world and apreciate it for being the happiness they achieved, instead of a pre-fabricated one. Here happiness was actually an escape, only possible through magic, but magic didn´t exist, and the truth, as sad as it was, was the truth
@buntado6 Personally, I think its the exact opposite... In my opinion, Umineko's message is that finding happiness is much more important than the tragic truth itself. Reality doesn't mean anything so long as you have love. Higurashi was also similar. Rika could of been a creepy little girl who imagined everything, or it could of all been real. We never did open the cat box to figure that out, but in the end, the only important thing was that Rika finally had her happiness. Inception anyone?
Well, the point is while Rika's journey was 2 find miracle 2 escape from her fate, Ange's purpose is 2 find the truth. I hope people could understand that Higurashi n Umineko are different, n trying 2 give us different messages. What's the point of Umineko if it would be the same as Higurashi? Umineko is not sad at all. Maybe happiness is hard to see when pains r there so much. N I'm so happy when Ange at last could see it. Even without seeing the picture, I know that she was smiling :)
So, if Battler is in a wheelchair, that must mean he is old, crippled, or sick. To be one of those three, he had to have lived through October 5, 1986. So what happened?
@MikuHatsuneCV01 LOTS OF STUFF. But basically, Battler remembered his promise with Yasu, they went to the Japanese base under Rokkenjima and they got onto a ship or something and got away before the island exploded. Yasu as Beatrice, did a love-suicide and Battler jumped in to save her. He couldn't; and wouldn't let Yasu bear his sin so Yasu went back to the surface too. Yasu clung to a piece of driftwood because the ship Battler was on was sailing too far away. Yasu got picked up tried to find
@MikuHatsuneCV01 Yasu tried to find Battler at Niijima but couldn't. He had gone with Toya. Later, Yasu managed to find him but he had totally forgot everything about Yasu. So Yasu waited until he could remember and they could be in love again. Battler is middle-aged by the time this happens. Battler also doesn't want to meet Ange until he can remember. When the island blew up, Eva was hiding in Kuwadorian, so she survived. She hid the truth so Ange can only have happy memories about her family.
@Debatetime So Battler remembers when he's middle-aged and meets Yasu and they live happily ever after. Sounds like a good ending. Why is it that everyone says EP8 is an unfufilling clusterfuck of an ending? XD
@matiasmanzx Because it still doesn't change the truth. Everyone but Battler, Yasu and Eva is dead. Ange never gets her family back and lives with hating Eva. Battler rejects seeing Ange because of his injury which he still retained most of his memory, but he can't accept being Battler. So he lives as being the Toya in Toya Hachijo. All of the games are "therapy" to get his memory back. That's why.
@matiasmanzx What I left out is that years later, Toya (Battler) goes to the Fukuin House. Ange has become a notable children's ficition author (mainly with stories about Sakutaro). Toya was afraid that his memories would make him become Battler again so he tried to off himself and failed. Hence the wheelchair. Toya meets Ange and he's afraid at first. He also meet Yasu there too. But in this final moment, Battler, as Toya, accepts that the Golden Land has been revived. Why it says everyone is..
I don't know why some people complain about the ending. This is just a masterpiece.
When they cry series have original story. Sometimes is fantasy and sometimes is realistic. All series don't have a happy ending. This time was realistic and sad but with love in the end.
@THEREVENGERX I haven't met a single person who's complained about Umineko having a sad ending, it's all about what a horrible slap in the face EP8 was to everyone who took Umineko seriously.
And I'm assuming you weren't one of those people who thought and theorized for 4 long years because Ryuukishi told us to. Obviously we have very different viewpoints and understandings of this situation.
@Iisankun This. Words can't say how much I hate Ryukishi for this.
The whole serie is great, and he felt obligated to ruin it with his "YOU MUST SOLVE IT, YOU CAN, IT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO DO RATHER THAN JUST READING IT" when it is actually bullshit.
Damn.
Well, I'm still thinking that ep7 and ep8 != reality, given his interviews. But still, this is stupid.
...I think the ending just got spoiled to me way too many times now by very angry readers, who've just recently finished EP8, on pretty much all of the new BGM videos.
Upon reading the SSVD Commandments and Knox's Decalogue, I guess having the "he actually had a mental issue" main part in a mystery is allowed, so Ryukishi07 is safe from being beheaded by Dlanor / Will...
So beautiful song. This is the final ending for the entire Umineko story. This happened after decades of Rokkenjima incident. Battler lost his identity as Battler himself, but he still remember all things happend on Rokkenjima. After decades he finally met Ange. Ange brought to orphanage where is very like the big house's hall. Then Battler felt he came back home.

Without love it cannot be seen - Without love it might seem like an incredibly tragic ending, but as long as there's love everyone can be having a good time in the Golden Land regardless of what the "Truth" is.

At first all I care about was having a decent explanation about all the chamber mysteries... I thought I was reading a detective kinda story...
Towards the end all I hope is that they will end up together, and this is definitely one of the best love stories I have ever read!!!!

The music itself is very serene. I like the way organs are played in there to give a slight godlike effect to the music.

This is all in his head.
EerieIceMage 2 months ago
@EerieIceMage Don't want to break the atmosphere but...
What if Ange brainwashed a bunch of kids and dressed them up like 'everyone'...?
That would be sick xD
Also, EP8 managed to make me almost cry (I don't usually fully cry) 3-4 times, so it must be good xD
kharkarus 2 months ago
@kharkarus Now, although I started hating Ange more since she got annoying in EP8, there is no way she would've done such a thing.
That would be sad.. I mean, she'd probably do that if it was "trick," but not "magic."
I'm pretty sure, though, that Battler's memories in Tohya's mind finally found peace when he saw the replica of the hall, and so he found himself in the "Golden Land" with everyone..
In reality, Tohya [& Ikuko w/ Ange] are entertaining the children happily, now with peace at mind..
EerieIceMage 2 months ago
@EerieIceMage Ok, just hope that EP 1-6 aren't also delusions from Tohya's mind. I prefer to believe that Battler actually fought against Dlanor, Erika, and Bernkastel than everything being a fight between Battler and Tohya's mind. Not everything can be a delusion!!!!!! Meta Battler (Lord Battler) was AWESOME!!!

@SFGK They probably are, but it's MAGIC, right?
So it happened. It's still in the catbox, so no point in denying.

@EerieIceMage Well, both tea parties are unblocked if you choose Magic, so if you choose that (and only if you do) all is magic. I haven't tried the trick option yet, but sincerely, I'm hesitating ._.

@kharkarus Aaa, for some reason, I couldn't find it or something..
EerieIceMage 2 months ago
@kharkarus I know exactly how you felt. I opened the magic ending, knowing very well the trick ending is probably 'ending where you cannot unlearn'. And i really don't want to know the trick ending truth since i believe it's probably something i wish i'll unlearn about ._.
DestinyxEvangel 5 days ago

PsychoShion 9 months ago
this way i can read it once and have the best adventure ive ever encounterd
Knowing That i did that Adventure with my best friend.
Read it through again as a romantic love and you still have to decide, if you are gonna be romantic love than you can EXPErience true love as you fall in love and witness every tier we climb or to the decent and how cold the ice is here :) IF we choose or stumble upon that choice we must decide hold on tight or grab her tight and then hope and have faith
PsychoShion 9 months ago
just enjoy it.... but know that you cant surive without the person that has the sibling love the SHannon kannon stuff.
PsychoShion 9 months ago
7 determines if you are doing a fantasy or mystery, will you end up with yasu in mystery, or will you end up with featherine which gets you to link to EPISODE 5. She IF you decide featheine in the fantasy way , it wiill be the mystery of 1-4....Which explains the wierdness in 5-7 but alot of the word stuff is explained. IF you decide REAL YASu is Claire................which is the true mysstery riddle of all this. ..... the real yasu would have no meaning anymore therefore not beatrice=yes
PsychoShion 9 months ago
umineko is love every character is a type of love and that is the KEY what exatly type of love resenantes in your heart and soul.
PsychoShion 9 months ago
EVa showed that you can choose, and she choose to protect the fact that her mother was the culprit and duped her family. SO she lived in shame so that her family could live on at least , the truth was not exposed protected the love................... She did not let anyone expose the true heart of her family but she was willing to live on but ange still had no way to learn of love so she set out. to find her own..................and this is the story of her journey
PsychoShion 9 months ago
NO matter if you do the mystery to find beatrice or featherine or do the fantasy way to meet them YOU can win but as long as you arent apart........from the sibling love they exp-lained in 6...... you can make it look real like erika would like batter.......but it rep[resents featherine's love or u can make it ange sibling love, youll get to surive BUT have no siblings alive. u have to chhose between SIBLing love bond or your Romantic love bond. U can have one so that is 4 ways.
PsychoShion 9 months ago
as soon as ange wakes up or the disbief is gone the goldne land can be summoned.
PsychoShion 9 months ago
hermaphrodite injuries from the fall....????........... we had to come up with all of tHAT TO RSK KNOWING the who.
PsychoShion 9 months ago
SO if you do the EPisode 5 you realize hat the reason even if ERIKA HAS THE TRUE RED and still loses is because no matter how much she loves him he cant be her husband. If you read 5-8 back as a full stroy then it is obvious that they were making a party FOR ange but they showed up a day late. What is ange doing in 8? solving the riddle but its just a cover so if u read it backwards its the story of how AUAUand batter came here together as a couple, or as siblings.. JUSt .............
PsychoShion 9 months ago

This song really makes my heart ache.
Really really ache....
Farewell, Umineko.
Iemanonymous1 9 months ago 5
How fitting an ending this is.
Couldn't ask for a better ending.

@EerieIceMage Finally someone really gets it.

I want so much to know how they came to this...
juzinhabio89 10 months ago
@juzinhabio89 You'll have to buy two of the games to read all of them. (Episode 4, which contains all previous question arcs from the anime, and this one, Episode 8, which includes all previous Chiru arcs.) Then you would go to Witch Hunt's site and download the English translation. (You can also buy the games digitally directly from witch hunt too, just click DVD.)
witch-hunt . com/stage.html
(Remove spaces)
The entirety of Episode 1 is free, so you can play that first to see if you like it.

willardhwright 10 months ago
@willardhwright It is true that he said that, though here's my theory. 'Umineko no Naku Koro Ni: Rei, will not be created, but something else that is similar. Perhaps with how they've been going interactive with their most recent creations (EP.8 & Ougon Musou Kyoku), we may be in for yet another interactive surprise where it allows us to place ourselves in Rokkenjima. My reasoning for this is from Bernkastel talking to the reader at one point, telling US not to bore her."

SPOILER QUESTIONS;
So ... the culprit is this 'explosion'? How did the island explode? :S & what happened to Bern? I saw her getting really pissed off int he end of the VN, lol.
LiveeLoveeLaughh 11 months ago
@LiveeLoveeLaughh A stupid bomb linked to a clock.
willardhwright 11 months ago
@willardhwright O__O Wtf haha... who placed the bomb?
LiveeLoveeLaughh 11 months ago
@LiveeLoveeLaughh
IIRC (it's been a while), Originally, Kinzo.
But the one who turned it on was Yasu. And finally, everyone died because of a stupid gold fever and some misunderstandings.
willardhwright 11 months ago
@LiveeLoveeLaughh
Bern is a cat. Literally.

@shunkwugga Hooooly crap. Thank you for telling me. All of them are insane... killing family members just for the sake of gold...
LiveeLoveeLaughh 11 months ago
@LiveeLoveeLaughh Everything in 10 minutes, without real motives other than LOLGOLD.
To be fair, eva is portrayed a little better than the other. But only her, and only a little.
willardhwright 11 months ago
@willardhwright I agree! I think Eva is so far my most favorite character... I thought I liked Ange better, but... now seeing how she's been acting so horrible towards her... ugh...
LiveeLoveeLaughh 11 months ago
@LiveeLoveeLaughh Hahaha... I don't know if you know about the story about Eva, but if you don't know, you will certainly start to idolize her. this is why Eva is called "The batman" on internet.
Basically, the reason she was cruel with Ange is because she wanted Ange to think that she is the culprit. Because she knew that Ange wouldn't withstand the "truth" (of ep 8).
willardhwright 11 months ago
@willardhwright And according to Eva, this was better for her to think that she may have killed her relatives, rather than knowing that Kyrie said that she always hated Ange, that Kyrie and Rudolf are killers, and that even Battler isn't so perfect (even if he didn't kill anyone).
So, for the sake of Ange, she decided that this will be her burden and she took responsability for everything, hiding the truth.
I hated Eva for a while, but I must admit that this was... wow.
willardhwright 11 months ago
@willardhwright
you've probably answered this for someone else, but
I understand why Battler might survive (and become Toya Hachijo),
but why was Eva spared by Rudolph and Kyrie?
Did Eva kill them?
(or is this all just within that fragment or within all worlds?)
Ander0072originalv2 11 months ago
@Ander0072originalv2 She was supposed to be dead. But she survived.Probably because no vital spot was hit, fortunately. And yeah, she kills Kyrie. We don't see her killing Rudolf,if I remember correctly, but everything also lead to this; so we can assume that it is the case..
willardhwright 11 months ago
@willardhwright
About "what it is", we don't know... Most people are thinking that it is the "real world"... But even in ep8, when Kyrie/rudolf/battler are official "bad guys", it is still presented as a last game of farewell by Bernkastel..So it's open and confusing, take your pick...
willardhwright 11 months ago
@shunkwugga Nope. Yasu activated the bomb. Kyrie didn't disactive it because it was more useful for them. It doesn't change a lot of things, but Yasu is not completely white.
Well, Bern/character in umi is based on a cat. And Lambda/character is based on a cake. Some Bern and lambda-fanboys people still think that the meta-world exists aside.

Nerdblockevasionify 11 months ago
@Nerdblockevasionify Oh, and the whole Ange/Bern/Erika plot that makes THEM out to be the villain for tearing down the delusions of psychopaths.
Of course, none of this shit matters because absolutely nothing in Umineko DID happen. Ikuko just wrote another 2 shitty epilogues in honor of Ange who fell from a skyscraper in 1998.
Nerdblockevasionify 11 months ago
@Nerdblockevasionify
UMADBRO?
Most sane fans actually do not like the ending but admit the series was entertaining (not good, there's a difference) up to this point.
shunkwugga 11 months ago
@shunkwugga Sane fans of Umineko comprising of how many people in the total Umienko fanbase? I'm no survey analyst, but judging from the most highly-rated comments, I'm pretty sure they're in the absolute minority. I'm just referring to the Western audience in this instance, mind you.
The Japanese rightfully hated it for not only giving no resolution, but for mocking readers who expected one. Oh, and there are some funny parallels with BT's demise and Umineko's plummet after EP5.(spergrant)
Nerdblockevasionify 11 months ago
@Nerdblockevasionify No, I don't count them dying and "ascending to a higher plane" as true resolution. Bern was right to mock Battler and the rest of the cast.
Anyway, about them parallels... After BTo died, Ryu admitted he lost "The joy of writing". I sure would too if the guy who motivated me into writing in the first place and acted as my editor kicked the bucket. In any event, Battler tried to "Resurrect" BT but only gained a hollow shell. Similarly, Ryu07 tried to revive BT via "Tohya".
Nerdblockevasionify 11 months ago
@Nerdblockevasionify Speaking of Umineko "Theories", the "theory" that BT was the ghostwriter for Umineko and Ryu07 tried to pick up the pieces was confirmed by EP8 where we got to see a bit of Ryu07's dream world. With BT still around, Tohya got plenty of advice from Ikuko, who was the real catalyst for helping him uncover his memories, and essentially the true writer of Umineko. However, just as she said she would create multiple endings that would both be valid, we can assume that to mean...
Nerdblockevasionify 11 months ago
@Nerdblockevasionify That Ryukishi acknowledges BT will never return for him, just as both endings are equally fictional. The route he wrote for ReWrite got slammed by people who played the trial, and I suspect the reason for its delay is partially due to the fact he can't think of a story that doesn't involve time loops and he hasn't been able to finish it yet. Hopefully his relevance vanishes after the next comiket when people realize "Umineko Rei" won't add anything at all.
Nerdblockevasionify 11 months ago
@Nerdblockevasionify And no, I'm not mad. If anything, I am proud of myself for finally having abandoned the series after EP5 and feasting on the corpse like a vulture.
Nerdblockevasionify 11 months ago
@Nerdblockevasionify
Well, you missed the best part of the story.
But it could have a "I TROLLED YOU WITH EP8 HAHAHA!" part, at least. who knows.
willardhwright 11 months ago
@Nerdblockevasionify I didn't see this confirmed with ep8, personally. It is really up to your interpretation.
Fact is, Ryukishi is a good writer. But like a lot of writers, he don't know how to end it's story.
And I was NOT expecting an answer. he ALWAYS said that he will nOT give one. But I was expecting something better than THIS. Seriously, even the ending of the FIRST season of higurashi in ANIME is a masterpiece compared to this.

Here happiness was actually an escape, only possible through magic, but magic didn´t exist, and the truth, as sad as it was, was the truth
buntado6 1 year ago 8
@buntado6 Personally, I think its the exact opposite... In my opinion, Umineko's message is that finding happiness is much more important than the tragic truth itself. Reality doesn't mean anything so long as you have love. Higurashi was also similar. Rika could of been a creepy little girl who imagined everything, or it could of all been real. We never did open the cat box to figure that out, but in the end, the only important thing was that Rika finally had her happiness. Inception anyone?
TySamma 1 year ago 3

MikuHatsuneCV01 1 year ago
@MikuHatsuneCV01 LOTS OF STUFF. But basically, Battler remembered his promise with Yasu, they went to the Japanese base under Rokkenjima and they got onto a ship or something and got away before the island exploded. Yasu as Beatrice, did a love-suicide and Battler jumped in to save her. He couldn't; and wouldn't let Yasu bear his sin so Yasu went back to the surface too. Yasu clung to a piece of driftwood because the ship Battler was on was sailing too far away. Yasu got picked up tried to find
Debatetime 1 year ago
@MikuHatsuneCV01 Yasu tried to find Battler at Niijima but couldn't. He had gone with Toya. Later, Yasu managed to find him but he had totally forgot everything about Yasu. So Yasu waited until he could remember and they could be in love again. Battler is middle-aged by the time this happens. Battler also doesn't want to meet Ange until he can remember. When the island blew up, Eva was hiding in Kuwadorian, so she survived. She hid the truth so Ange can only have happy memories about her family.
Debatetime 1 year ago
@Debatetime So Battler remembers when he's middle-aged and meets Yasu and they live happily ever after. Sounds like a good ending. Why is it that everyone says EP8 is an unfufilling clusterfuck of an ending? XD
matiasmanzx 1 year ago
@matiasmanzx Because it still doesn't change the truth. Everyone but Battler, Yasu and Eva is dead. Ange never gets her family back and lives with hating Eva. Battler rejects seeing Ange because of his injury which he still retained most of his memory, but he can't accept being Battler. So he lives as being the Toya in Toya Hachijo. All of the games are "therapy" to get his memory back. That's why.

@Debatetime Then what's with the Golden Land scene in this video? Only a Musicbox thing? o-o
matiasmanzx 1 year ago
@matiasmanzx What I left out is that years later, Toya (Battler) goes to the Fukuin House. Ange has become a notable children's ficition author (mainly with stories about Sakutaro). Toya was afraid that his memories would make him become Battler again so he tried to off himself and failed. Hence the wheelchair. Toya meets Ange and he's afraid at first. He also meet Yasu there too. But in this final moment, Battler, as Toya, accepts that the Golden Land has been revived. Why it says everyone is..
Debatetime 1 year ago
@Debatetime *shrug* Sounds like a perfect ending for me, but I'll wait until WH translates it to judge.
matiasmanzx 1 year ago
@matiasmanzx ...clapping may be something in his head. But that's pretty much what happens.
Debatetime 1 year ago
@matiasmanzx This is supposed to be battler dying and going to heaven I think.
Turksemployee 1 year ago
@Turksemployee If it is, it's a good ending.
I've heard too many versions of what happens to the point where I don't care. I'll just wait until WH translates, then I'll judge. XD

@matiasmanzx Spoiler but
doesn't Yasu commit suicide?
Itachi1fangirl 1 year ago
@Itachi1fangirl
Depends on the ending. She either commits suicide to be revived in the Golden land or kills the boatman and her bodyguard.
VampireWolve 1 year ago
@VampireWolve Uh, no. That's Ange. Not Yasu. XD
matiasmanzx 1 year ago
@VampireWolve Are you talking about Ange or Beato/Yasu
I'm talking about Yasu.
I just want to know if Yasu survived her suicide attempt and if she made it to Toya
Itachi1fangirl 1 year ago
@Itachi1fangirl
No Yasu drowns in every case and Battler ends up loosing his memory since he almost drowns but gets rescued.
Only the circumstances are different.
The lovers suicide attempt is only 1 ending.

Spoilers:
Is this one the real ending or is it one of the other many endings Umineko EP 8 has? I know in another ending it is different than this. ?_?

@crusherwakemister There are only two of them...

I don't know why some people complain about the ending. This is just a masterpiece.
When they cry series have original story. Sometimes is fantasy and sometimes is realistic. All series don't have a happy ending. This time was realistic and sad but with love in the end.
WITHOUT LOVE IT CAN'T BE SEEN.
THEREVENGERX 1 year ago 42
@THEREVENGERX 100% agreed.
matiasmanzx 1 year ago
@THEREVENGERX I haven't met a single person who's complained about Umineko having a sad ending, it's all about what a horrible slap in the face EP8 was to everyone who took Umineko seriously.
Iisankun 11 months ago
@Iisankun Did you even read the story? If you took Umineko seriously you'd understand its message by now.
jecrell 11 months ago
And I'm assuming you weren't one of those people who thought and theorized for 4 long years because Ryuukishi told us to. Obviously we have very different viewpoints and understandings of this situation.
Iisankun 11 months ago
@Iisankun This. Words can't say how much I hate Ryukishi for this.
The whole serie is great, and he felt obligated to ruin it with his "YOU MUST SOLVE IT, YOU CAN, IT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO DO RATHER THAN JUST READING IT" when it is actually bullshit.
Damn.
Well, I'm still thinking that ep7 and ep8 != reality, given his interviews. But still, this is stupid.

Text based ending (no sprites etc) reminds me of Evangelion.

Hmm... why everyone's so mad about the ending? I found it's very satisfying n good. What did everyone expect actually? .........:).....Hmm.....:)
Ernestalice 1 year ago
...I think the ending just got spoiled to me way too many times now by very angry readers, who've just recently finished EP8, on pretty much all of the new BGM videos.

Well you have to admit that the song is pretty epic.

This ending more or less translates to "and they all died happily ever after..."
Ryukishi07 is such a troll.
