My daughter began skating at the age of 71/2 years. She began by taking weekend, learn to skate lessons and 6 months later had her first competition. Like most parents, we were with the wrong Coach for over 5 years, until we learned that she had great potiential and began to understand the USFSA. Two years ago we put her in serious lessons with top quality coaches and her improvement has been not only dramatic, but amazing to witness.

Really? That's amazing, she sure skates beautifully. I myself recently started figure skating lessons so I've been looking up lots of skating on here. When I saw she was just 13 years old it caught my attention, and at the top it says she won first place. Good for her! =D

I am sure being a young lady, that you can appreciate that as my daughter's father, I do not permit her to chat online, but all i can say is that, we are very humbled by your comments and appreciative. Just remember one thing! Whatever you want to achieve in life, regardless if it is Figure Skating, Business, Politics, School, etc., just put all your hear and soul into it. Be 100% dedicated, focused and determined, and I am certain you will achieve all your dreams.

Ah yes, I think it is a good plan for anyone to avoid having their kids talk online until they're older. You are both very welcome! It is so true, those are words to live by, thanks for sharing. I hope Alana continues to figure skate, and you never know, she could be Olympic material when she's old enough. But even if she doesn't, I'm sure she'll do well in whatever she is determined to do, she seems like a very dedicated young lady.
