Got the x bolt stalker chambered in 270 wsm. Mounted a bushnell 6500 elite on top with mil dot reticle. Took three rounds out of it. Sweet gun. Looking forward to going to the range.

@MrDip02 - Guns are for killing. Often, though, there might be a wall or a vehicle in the way. This is where the sheer kinetic energy you get out of .50 BMG comes into play: 14,000 ft-lbs of energy. That's twice as much as .338 Lapua, and 4+ times for the other 4.
I'm not using a sniper on exposed targets; that's what carbines and battle rifles are for. I will get better results at long range and against armored targets with .50 BMG than for anything short of 20mm or artillery.
@Ratiqu if you are referring to killing enemies behind walls and shit yes the .50 bmg is the go to round but not for hunting rounds like .270 win and .300 win are best for hunting and the .338 lupua is the most accurate round and holds the longest kill record and for such a "small" round im comparing to the .50 bmg that is i would go for the lupua also if you want to hunt with a .50 bmg i dont know why you would but thats extremely expensive shooting

Sport hunting is, to me, morally wrong. But is also a great source of pleasure. Bolt action rifles are awesome,and I won't shoot people, so I guess it's the only option. If you eat the game it's not that bad.
I just got the Carbon fiber finish 300wsm last year, Its a nice gun, would like to see some sort of Muzzle brake or even the BOSS option on the gun, It would be nice to have a removal muzzle brake with a matching cap if you should choose not to shoot with the Muzzle brake. The only problem I see with the Gun is it has made in Japan written on the barrel, also I didn't see any accuracy guarantee with these guns, for the price you should get one not that these aren't tac. drivers.
i hate how with all these huge brands like colt and winchester they are overpriced because youre paying for the name. i must admit this is a good rifle but i see really out of date versions for browning with the same price as the x bolt
Hey, I am 15 and thinking of getting one of these. I go to boarding school and they block any gun websites so if someone could tell me how much these run, what caliber theyre available in, and if theres another gun that would be better what it is and its info. I have lots of experience shooting and am not bothered by recoil/ noise, if that helps at all

@sh9683 I dont remember my prevoius comment but the weatherby vanguard is much cheaper and in my opinion better. Also a Mar V is not much more expensive. I figured if you save up 900+ for the A bolt then saving another 1-200$ isn't going to be much of an issue and you can get one of the highest quality rifles on the market

I just baught two of these with Leupold scopes, Hunter edition in .243 and a stainless stalker in .270 WSM gorgeous rifles accurate as hell and are definitely my most favorites good work Browning !!!

@lunatics209 I dont think browning will since the rifle is already stupid accurate out of the box. Just break it in properly and she will shoot quarter size and less groups all day.

The Browning T-bolts have a spare magazine holder in the stock. It doesn't look like this one does. Then again, the bullets here are a bit too large to allow for a spare in the stock.
i shot a browning x-bolt 308 medallion. it was probably my all time favorite large caliber rifle to shoot. the kick is present, but light, and the accuracy is amazing.

Could someone teach me why a free floating barrel is better? Looks to me it's the opposite because it 's more wobbly. I don't know much about the mechanics of a bolt action rifle, but just am a fan of hunter stories written in 1960-80s by a Japanese author who praises pre-64 Winchester and cuts down on post-64.
a free floating barrel increases accuracy as it will reamain perfectly centered in the barrel channel of a stock. If it is a one- piece stock of wood, the gap between the metal and wood will probably change between seasons or getting into contact with water.
@MickCorgi Also, as the barrel heats up (the thinner, the faster) it expands. if it is in direct contact with the stock it'll cause tension in both the barrel and the stock. which means the sight picture could change drastically if you're unlucky.

I just baught two of these with Leupold scopes, Hunter edition in .243 and a stainless stalker in .270 WSM gorgeous rifles accurate as hell and are definitely my most favorites good work Browning !!!

I'd love to try one of these. Wasn't Ruger the first to come up with rotary magazines? Still, this rifle looks pretty good.
The Browning T-bolts have a spare magazine holder in the stock. It doesn't look like this one does. Then again, the bullets here are a bit too large to allow for a spare in the stock.

i shot a browning x-bolt 308 medallion. it was probably my all time favorite large caliber rifle to shoot. the kick is present, but light, and the accuracy is amazing.

Could someone teach me why a free floating barrel is better? Looks to me it's the opposite because it 's more wobbly. I don't know much about the mechanics of a bolt action rifle, but just am a fan of hunter stories written in 1960-80s by a Japanese author who praises pre-64 Winchester and cuts down on post-64.

a free floating barrel increases accuracy as it will reamain perfectly centered in the barrel channel of a stock. If it is a one- piece stock of wood, the gap between the metal and wood will probably change between seasons or getting into contact with water.

@MickCorgi Also, as the barrel heats up (the thinner, the faster) it expands. if it is in direct contact with the stock it'll cause tension in both the barrel and the stock. which means the sight picture could change drastically if you're unlucky.
