  • I think parkour is nothing else but gymnastics on the street with a bunch of dudes that think they are so cool doing it until they are paralyzed from the neck down.

  • @CamiloSanchez1979 You know nothing of what parkour is. Do more research, and be more open minded.

  • Anyone who actualy had respect or even practised the art of parkour would know that this is going aginst everyting it stands for, this mainly free running, and parkour is noting to do with competition.....and Andy Belle is a douche.

  • Don't wanna be a freerunning vs parkour solider but I dont really like this idea

  • safer to leave the parkour races to mirrors edge maybe?! If you don't like the competition then don't watch or compete. Why are people so offended? The only people they're really hurting are themselves (if they mess up) after all

  • ryan doyle is my hero

    thumbs up if you agree!

  • 1st of all it's a damn show, people make shows about anything, and second if there was a problem with it being a challenge and ruining the aspect of parkour/freerunning then im sure the competiters would have had enought respect to not compeat.so why are people complaining?

  • I just gained a totally new respect for Daniel Arroyo

  • this is what parkour is, your not supposed to have some stupid challenge, where your not mentally ready for everything. this show is ridiculous and irresponsible

  • @inuysha360 isnt a good idea though jsut for fun anyway youc na calm down

  • this is great man.. could you please tell me where can I download the whole season from? If is for free even better, I don't have debit or credit card, The quality in Mt's web page is very bad.

    Thanks a lot

  • this should have been called MTV'S Ultimate Freerunning Challenge, not Parkour Challenge. but this show was still cool

  • this is mtv's job . fucking everything . why wouldn't they call it ultimate freerunning chalange . i see guys putting their neck on the line so maybe the get the first place

    STUPID

  • omg that poor guy.... htf did he get bak up?! thats amazing!

  • this is fucking stupid. these guys are making the sport look bad. they behave like the biggest retards and talk as if they are really cool. and its not even parkour. its free running. a real traceur with any self respect would not take part in any show of competition like this

  • Parkour isnt competition but this is just Mtv being Mtv and not knowing what they are talking about. I mean you can see livewire and daniel Ilibaca and everyone else just having a good time and in the end they know the winner doesnt matter and that should justify the "competition". Due to the spirt of parkour and hopefully every traceurs it's not a competition and it's just good, good fun

  • I'm glad parkour is becoming more mainstream, but I think that this is the wrong way to do it.

  • this isnt parkour there is no flips in parkour it defeats the purpose of it

  • it is true parkour isn`t competition, but the traceurs look all of the traceurs as our brothers, and we have a nice time trying things in a group, not competing, but having fun trying new stuff. Also, the prize money give them a way to finance their organization, the WFPF, of which all of them are in, and the purpose is to make parkour into mainstream media.

Meanwhile they take it as a way to pass time with friends and showing them their best tricks, I think it is okay

  • @cmoun5 true that though i have alot of respect for daniel ilabaca hes been really inspirational for me

  • Parkour is not about competition, but it just gives them ratings. /sigh

Props to Arroyo for getting back up and finishing.

Also, I've worn my fingertips off before, it hurts. A lot.

  • Brian, Woo!

  • -in parkour dosen't exist competition you idiots. 0_0

  • that's livewire ? O_O

  • @StarkCwalk yes

  • Great stuff! I am trying to find somewhere to stream these episodes here in Aus, as the US site doesn't work for me. Can anyone help me out?

  • Show has wrong name lol it should be Free Running Challenge, and woo damn right King David pwnage.

  • TOMMY P IS THE SHIT!!!!

    BIG UP TO STREETBIKE TOMMY

  • AAAHHH as if they played billy talent and trapt XD i love this show haha

  • i agree that parkour shouldnt be made into a competitve event but at least show these guys some respect. they go out there and risk their lives everytime they do something like this. and for all the people who say that this sucks, i would love to see you guys go out there and try to do the stunts these guys do. you would bust your ass.

  • do you get in trouble to ge on building and do stunts

  • you got to be kidding these americans no nothing

  • parkour is non competitive indeed, but if this is the way it gets attention and shows the world how awesome this can be, then i dont care, atleast more people get to know about this and the talent of these guys and that deserves respect

  • whats the name of the very first song? (in team 1s video)

  • Yall shut the fuck up, who gives a shyt what parkour is Dicipline/lifestyle shut the fuck up! It's very entertaining to watch and they are having fun out there. They learn all their skill themselves so they should be able to pick what they do with it!!

  • @GreenArrow223 Correction. Most traceurs get ideas from other traceurs who made the moves. Chances are these people are no different. And as much as I agree that it is entertaining to watch, it's more fun to do. But believe me, if it's competitive like this, and people are getting hurt, people can't do it. Why sit on the bench when you can get out and go play?

  • @Zarek49 ^^ Correction. I don't think any move has a creator, it flows. For example I never knew dash vault existed but i learnt it.. for weeks i thought this was my skill but turns out other people out there do it. If they spent over 4 years risking their life learning these skills who are you to tell them what not to do with it.

  • @GreenArrow223 I'm not telling them not to. I am discouraging it. Not like I am my school and constantly tell myself that I'm in trouble because I like practicing in at a certain area on their property. =/

  • @Zarek49 people dont get it i know

  • ryan doyle is a beast

  • why is so bad if you compete i think its cool

  • this ruined parkour, i agree with everyone else that it shouldnt be competitive, id be embarassd to be on this show

  • I'm loving all the outrage this video has caused; the outrage is well justified and I completely agree.

  • parkour by definition isn't competitive, but i do enjoy watching people compete in parkour events so i guess i have mixed views

  • Parkour, isn't made for competitveness, it's feeling the air! To move your body in ways never meant to be, not to rush for money. I am a person that freeruns, and had injuries and sometimes wonder why did i do this. All i know is, this is retarded and of course reality tv. Times on a course, it doesn't fit into parkour. I only parkoured or 2 and a half years, which i hurt myself 5 times badly, and about 10+ mistakes at starting it, and some retarded movements or spasms. Parkour FTW!

  • I have to be honest, as cool as parkour is, making a competitive sport out of it is pretty silly. Risking their lives for 10Gs?! But that's not the point, it's an extremely dangerous sport, and putting practitioners under the pressures of competition...well you can expect a lot of potentially dangerous accidents.

  • David Belle is probably ashamed to see this >_<

  • parkour is a lifestyle .parkour is a point from a to b. parkour can be a competion between friends to push each other. or it can be by urself stop complaining i can guarantie these guys trained there heart out. maybe having little comps among themeselves. just enjoy urselves wen u do it

  • stop complaining parkour is parkour

  • THIS IS WHY PARKOUR IS NON-COMPETITIVE!! GEEZ YOU FREAKING IDIOTS!

Geez i hate this when people try to make everything competition and shit like that.

  • Comment removed

  • only MTV could take a zen passive martial art and make it into a competitive extreme sport. fuck you MTV when will you learn your boundaries

  • so fail second guy

  • this show rocks!!!

  • Parkour shouldn't be a competition but round two is good because it shows who can actually move through a space efficiently applying the physical aspect of parkour and it stops them doing unecessary flashy tricks and flips which I believe too many videos on youtube are and therefore i like round 2

  • danny brother!!!!!

  • wheres the first part?

  • livewire seemed a bit slow...haha when the juge said team 2 everyone was like wooo... and then all you see is livewire being like..huh? is that us? hahah I LOVE HIM THO!

  • there using terminology that the saiyans invented back in 2002 grrrr whats happend to parkour....damn you freeflow

  • WERE CAN I WATCH THIS IN THE UK???????

MTV wont let me watch stuff abroad

  • this may not be Parkour but they're using their Parkour skills for the show. Even if its no really Parkour atleast its entertaining.

  • Dear MTV, this is not parkour.. this is freestyle walking.. HUGE HUGE HHHUUUGGGEEE difference.. If you're running from (or to) something, you're not going to be twisting and flipping and trying to look good

  • what's the purpose of this show?

  • dummys! stll a good show!

  • i dont care what you fools say that dang good parkour

  • who ever came up with the idea of a parkour challenge is a total asshole.

Challenges are where you do what ever the fuck you can to win, NOT ASSOCIATED WITH PARKOUR/FREE RUNNING

Respect to Daniel Arroyo for getting up and still going

  • @cmoun5 respect

  • I do see your point but id say what your talking about is a competition, a challenge is more of just a difficult test, tho they did do it as a competition so you are right, but daniel ilabaca said in one of the videos ive seen that he participated only to show that its not about the competition and make sure that the true side is shown as well; he wants more people to see the truth and he hopes that this will spread the word of it around to draw attention and hope they'll see the truth trying it

  • and ya id say this is definitely freerunning except the speed rounds how ever those are actually parkour atleast

  • @cmoun5 I agree that parkour is nothing associated with free running, but it can be somewhat of a competition. To see who can fly by a course the most efficient time and way.

  • @cmoun5

Man, i'm agree with you 100 %, ParKour or Free rUN ISN,T FOR CHALLENGE OR MONEY

  • @cmoun5 daniel arroyo had the balls to give up i owe it to him and daniel illabaca 4 geting me into parkour

  • @cmoun5 the only thing worse than companies getting parkour and free running mixed up/misinterpreted is hearing people bitch about it.

  • Comment removed

  • @kurei2001 i bet most of the people who r bitching don't even freerun or do parkour

  • @THEPANTHERX12 TECHNICALY IT IS PPARKOUR WAS USED IN WARS WHEN FRENCH PPL WERE DOING A WAR WITH THE ENGLISH PPL SO YA ITS A BIT COMPETETIVe.......................

  • who wins ? x

  • I love seeing everyone bitch about this. The one thing that Daniel Ilabaca is adamantly against is the dilution of Parkour into something simply for money, if it was REALLY hurting the image I doubt he would be in it. Just look at them, they are here having fun doing what they do every day. In one of the newer episodes Ryan Doyle said he was only there for the experiences.

  • @Isosyth danny also said he was there to try and get the real message of parkour etc across, and like trying to change the attitude of the competition so its not just about massive tricks , hence the banana video haha

  • i understand what all of u are sayin and your right, but at the same time... if you had the chance to win some money by doing what you love, would u not take it? even though this isn't something to be competitive about i bet these guys are happy to make some quick cash off of it.

  • A lot of people are getting angry by the fact they are marketing parkour like this.

All traceurs know what it is really about, just because Hollywood is attempting to make money, doesn't mean you need to get upset about it! Learn to control your emotions because you are only causing your self grief. These traceurs are providing us with some entertainment while we aren't out on the run ourselves.

    P.S.

Get well to everyone who got injured, all the injuries looked painful and we feel for you!

  • @sumrandomaccount420 I ran out of remaining characters, anyway: Hollywood attempts to make money off of anything that is the current 'cool' so story short, don't get upset they are calling the TV show parkour(instead of free-running), your hate comments wont get you any where except your ego boosted. (And all traceurs know ego is the enemy that prevents you from accomplishing the essence that IS parkour.)

  • @sumrandomaccount420

    Speak for yourself.

Traceurs don't make comments or intervene for ego boosts.

  • @thepantherx12 What? What are you talking about? I haven't commented in over a month and you replied to my comment already.. you high?

  • @sumrandomaccount420

Actions have consequences, as does the lack of action have consequence.

This is the sort of thing that will get Parkour banned.

  • @thepantherx12 I'd like to see them try and ban people from wearing running shoes and running up walls, that'd b an incredibly controlled police state in my humble opinion. Sure they can ban it from TV, but isn't that what everyone in the comments is bitchin about anyways? haha

  • @sumrandomaccount420

Oh funny how they've done just that in many places.

Guess what the world is less free then people think.

  • @thepantherx12 haha oh really? where at? thats messed up

  • @sumrandomaccount420

You'll have to be more specific about what your asking about. ,made a few statements recently.

    Cheers :]

  • @thepantherx12 Oh sorry my bad, where has parkour been banned recently, I hadn't known of this.

  • @sumrandomaccount420

Moreton where Illabaca is from, and Guildford.

  • right when i start to do parkour they make a fuckin show about it and dont even call it the right thing... dumbasses

  • no, competition is always fun, and frankly they are doing more tricking

  • its entertainment. get over it its a good show if u dont like it then DDOONNTT WWAATTCCHH IITT

  • What's the song's name in Mike Turner's part?

  • @OmerNoto Head strong by Trapt

  • Well, the urban jumpers r getiing payed for this, so stop your arguing.. it like they keep doing this for free without paying for the home, food,or clothings. Would you pay money to see them do cool altheletic skills or rather see them doing it for free while they work their butts off.

  • this is friggin intense show but i hav a problem with this.....i always thot that parkour was for enjoyment and seeing if you can improve ur skills. NOT for money, these guys are doing a sport that can get them hurt and the company is gettin alot of money off of them. They made it into a competion, which its not really suppost to be.

  • worst show ever.

  • who is the band in that song?

  • This is terrible. Parkour is not a competition, it is not judged, this completely ruins the point of Parkour as a discipline and as a lifestyle.

  • @fifoffjfufs oh stfu it's just showing what parkour is.

  • @Kyokoko17 That is my point. By definition this is not Parkour. Parkour literally does not have flips or competitors. If you search Tyson Cecka in youtube, then you will get videos of true Parkour.

  • @fifoffjfufs ya wel how else would they make parkour into a show, this is creating awarness to parkour, because not everyone knows about it.

  • @LilAlboboii Creating awareness is fine. But I wish they would call it a "Freerunning Challenge" instead, so people do not get the wrong idea about parkour. I am trying to start a parkour club at my school, and it is media like this that makes it very difficult.

  • @fifoffjfufs ohh, thats so true, but the time trials are parkour, but they might want to outline that

  • @fifoffjfufs you do realize it's for fun right? they're playing joking ya know it's like a friendly game of soccer.

  • @mayhem9024 yeah - for cash... -_-"

  • @fifoffjfufs But they sure made it fun to watch!!!

  • @fifoffjfufs actualy compititian makes it better

  • @liamheyworth thats bull, you obviously have no idea what parkour is.

  • @TraceurArok umm no thts bull parkour is about creative freedom and getting from a to b quickly , and i say the competitivness males it even more creative. if you dont like it stop doin parkour.

  • @fifoffjfufs It's not a discipline or lifestyle, It's just another way to transport urself. How can it not be made into a challenge? Just like sprint.

  • @Treevor No actually it is a discipline and lifestyle. if you did Parkour you would know that.

  • @charles125 Well I do.

  • @fifoffjfufs im going with you its stupid

  • Look how many accidents have happened already. Precisely why Parkour is NON competitive.

Why the fuck are you even using Parkour in the name, its non competitive by DEFINITION .

  • @thepantherx12 I completely agree with you. This isn't parkour at all. Its parkour Yamakazi aka free running. Parkour is non competitive, but free running is. Good eye for noticing that.

  • @MrJingd

Annoying thing is David Belle has specifically asked people who are doing flips and stuff like this to not use the term Parkour. His quote was roughly " Acrobatics have been around for a much longer time then Parkour, if you do Acrobatics call them Acrobatics" Not 100% accurate but if you search for " The very best of David Belle" and watch part two its there .

  • @thepantherx12 and it's also not parkour... just adding that... yep...

  • @programaster

    "MTV's ultimate Parkour challenge"

  • @thepantherx12 yes, what I'm saying is it's more free running than parkour, originally free running was just an easier term for English speaking audiences than parkour, however has now developed to the point where they are 2 separate but related sports. So really, in keeping with the times and changes in meanings it shud probably be called "free running" challenge or something to that effect.

  • @programaster

So you acknowledge that they are wrong to be using Parkour : /

Free Running was a mistranslation originally and yes it stemmed into something else pretty rapidly, although free running I would say was close to the split that already happened in France. Parkour/Yamakasi.

There is a whole number of things they could of called this, anything but bastardise a discipline designed to be useful. "être fort pour être utile" the only thing this contest strengthens is ego.

  • @thepantherx12 it wasn't really a mistranslation, according to UFF they decided it needed a more common-person-friendly name for english, also, Yamakasi was a group that rlly started the whole free running thing from parkour, using it in more imaginative and relaxed ways. other than that then ye. They are now different things and should be recognised as such, at least in my opinion.

  • @programaster

UFF? The worst source of Parkour information on the internet? Quite possible a poor source of information for free running too? "Crane moon step" springs to mind *face palm*

"Yamakasi was a group that rlly started the whole free running thing from parkour"

...... that was pretty much my point *raises eyebrow*

  • @thepantherx12 fair enough. even though I do quite like UFF, even if just for the regular updates and magazine.

  • @programaster

I've been around for a fair bit so seen how they've "developed" still remember EZ threatening to beat up kids who disagreed with him though ( me included) he'll say he was joking but it is not the kind of joke to make as a business man eh? He also loved to ban people that spoke up against UF on the forums, that's why often people don't see the "other side" of things.

Fair enough if you like them, but bare what I said in mind eh. Look at other sources, talk to Traceurs, Real ones.

  • @thepantherx12 fair enough, fair enough.

  • @thepantherx12 shurr up lad accidents happen even when there non competing

  • @thepantherx12 agreed, not only the competition is inappropriate, but also in real Parkour you'd never see any flips or other show-moves... So MTV should simply call it Free Running ;-)

  • @TheGreatOneY2J

Aye the only time I do see flips is when people have buggered up and need to not land on their face!

  • @TheGreatOneY2J oooorrr you could both get over yourselves and stop watching it :)

  • @thepantherx12 true parkour can not be judged but this is parkour and this show is bringing parkour to the masses

  • @thepantherx12 Completely agree.

  • @thepantherx12 Where there's competition... there's money. Simplest answer =/

  • @thepantherx12 why the fuck are you crying over the internet?

  • @CombatArmsKinorK

Because it's a massive public forum.

I thought communication was one of the most useful uses of the internet : /

  • @thepantherx12 dude wen i see these new parkour commercials and this tv show it pisses me off so much because u guys are right its not competition

  • @thepantherx12 and yet accidents happen in traditional competitive sports as well.

  • Ilabaca had a point, if Danny hadnt let the pressure get to him, he probably wouldn't have fallen

  • @kasaikun619

This is pretty much the main reason why parkour is non-competitive. People push too hard to beat the other guys, try to push through the pain (the guy doing it with stitches and a cut up hand - that's just fucking stupid), basically just push themselves beyond their limits. What Danny said about choosing to fall is just bullshit. What he MEANS is that because of the pressure to go fast, go faster than the other guy, he didn't focus/ tried something too fast, and then fucked it up.

  • time one WINS

  • what billy talent song was that in Team 2's vid?

  • @ultrahero2115

    Try Honesty

  • @Trickster290 Thanks, bro! I knew it was a Billy Talent song cause theres no other style like his.

  • @ultrahero2115 i know right, i'm billy talent fan as well...

  • they was not compete for dany ilabaca well just raydn doyle
