  • I would have to disagree with Darijo203, the Pope is not just a priest, he is THE priest. The Vicar of Christ (The representation of Christ on Earth). He is the leader of the Catholic Church, so we do not break off into the madness that's division.

  • @7SonsofFeanor Thanks for the Information

  • I think he is not ready for being a pope, he should be able to answer any question, especially Rome should not be to proud to answer a simple question, I think this question turns out to be not as easy as he wanted it to look like if u go into detail.

  • @benbirdy

If you mean the frozen embryo question, he dodged it (and only that one) when he did a Q & A session in 2005 that I attended. My guess is that he was avoiding speaking to the issue (one way or the other) until the Church was ready to make a more 'official' statement on the matter. The question itself is simple enough, but the implications are not. The dilemma is only created because of IVF, which is morally wrong.

He'll be 80 in 2 years, so I doubt he'll ever be pope.

  • God is great!!!! That is the name that he has given to me, and I am yet to know what the purpose is.

  • During the conclave of 2005, Cardinal Arinze's name was often brought up to the media as possible successor to the late Pope. At that time, I was sure hesitant to embrace another Pope, now I see Cardinal Arinze whom I was hesitant to embrace at that time. Having watch him talk, his writings, his conviction... I sure was wrong to have doubted him for now I see him as an endearing person and a true man of God and the Church.

  • bs!!!

  • It's not so important who the pope is, but what one is doing for the Church. If this Cardinal can contribute more on this position..great! If God wants him to become the pope one day...he will be that! Pope is just a priest, first among the EQUAL! Spreading the good news of salvation is the only thing that matters and it's the main goal of the Church. "Titles" it self are not important. God is the only leader of the Church. Pope, bishops and the rest of the priesthood are here to serve Him.

  • "first among the EQUAL"

We are Catholics. So your "primus inter pares" thesis is not something we accept.

  • The pope is primus iner pares in the sense that he is a bishop, the bishop of rome, and the pope is not a step in holy orders. It's just a title THAT gives him authority over the whole church. Remember, he is also " pastor of the universal church", and "Pontifex Maximus" Supreme Pontiff

  • @neilalvin2k4 It is not your fault, I didn't even know Cardinal Arinze existed. But thanks to these videos, I am confident that he would make an excellent Pope, if God wills.
