  • kinda ironic how you take the ''frosted'' edges away, with a flame :)

  • Hi, very interesting video sdgood, I have been thinking about getting a scroll saw, in the past when cutting acrylic about 8 to 12mm using the jig saw, it just melts on me with the blade just ending up stuck, even with Perseverance on my part, The end result is still rough as can be, Like you say, the acrylic just welds back together on me as I cut through, you made a real good job of that 3/4 thick too.

    Thom in Scotland.

  • can you cut cow bone with a scroll saw

  • thanks for this video.

  • nice job man

  • Please isn't there a way to protect your fingers with some kind of hand guard ?

my nerves are on edge watching you

  • Use a heat gun instead of a torch

  • @TopGear6666 Doesn't work, you'll burn the thing up.

  • @patricioeb A heat gun with the temperature set low enough Einstein!

  • cool project! :D

  • what's more useful? a bandsaw or a scroll saw?

  • It depends on what you are doing. You can't cut out inside shapes on a bandsaw. A scroll saw limits the thickness of your cut to approximately 2 inches.

  • Lighter fluid works great on acrylic, is cheap and no citrus to affect the shine. Mephysto you can get acrylic, aka Plexiglass, at places like Lowes, McMaster-Carr online or resellers like mnpctech-dot-com

  • Great! Where can I buy acrilic on the web?

  • Thanks very helpfull

  • Steve - as always great videos.

  • Thanks to you Steve,

I certainly did enjoy this lesson.

    Best Regards.
