Hi, very interesting video sdgood, I have been thinking about getting a scroll saw, in the past when cutting acrylic about 8 to 12mm using the jig saw, it just melts on me with the blade just ending up stuck, even with Perseverance on my part, The end result is still rough as can be, Like you say, the acrylic just welds back together on me as I cut through, you made a real good job of that 3/4 thick too.
It depends on what you are doing. You can't cut out inside shapes on a bandsaw. A scroll saw limits the thickness of your cut to approximately 2 inches.
Lighter fluid works great on acrylic, is cheap and no citrus to affect the shine. Mephysto you can get acrylic, aka Plexiglass, at places like Lowes, McMaster-Carr online or resellers like mnpctech-dot-com
kinda ironic how you take the ''frosted'' edges away, with a flame :)

SMH...
GUYS, Guys: If you want *perfect* cut edges use a ceramic tile cutting circular wet-blade for all your acrylic needs.

Lowes - Item #: 320300 Model #: 3540-01 (small proj and noobz)
