I don't know if this has been stated but red lable krawleres are a non DOT competition tire with a compound close to drag slicks. I've wheeled with plenty of rigs with various comp tires and BFGs are definitly the king.
I tried Boat Ramp in my sas'd reg cab Tacoma, locked front and rear with 35" KM2's and couldn't make it up it. It had been raining like hell that week and there was wayyy more water coming down it. Red Labels are awesome!
Those bfG's have more of a biting edge in the tread that goes down the middle of the tire. Those swampers only have those big outside lugs. That's about the only part getting any traction at all
For the people that havent been on this rock the video does no justice.... I couldnt walk up it dry without sliding much less wet... Just type in Choccolocco boatramp and see some videos from the top its a beast... The guy with the Swampers is very experienced and can bet the tires were aired down just shows the Swampers are falling behind... Red Labels are amazin
over her in the uk, the krawler is sold as bfg mud terain 2. BFG MT2. i have been led into buying boggers as you crazy americans swear by them! all i have to say is epic win and thank you usa, you rock!!
Sorry mate the bfg mud km2 is different to the bfg krawler, I own both. The style of the km2 is based on the krawler but the lugs are much smaller and the tread gap is different, also the kralwer comes in two compounds, blue and red, radial and sticky respectivley. That's here in Australia and it would be the same world wide, they're imported from US and KM2's are in every 2nd 4wd shop, krawlers are harder to get, at least here, especially red compound. Hope that clarifies. Cheers.
BFG's do not suck. Nor are TSL's in their element on the slick stuff. Both are really great tires. I have ran both as well as MTR's and A/T's. My rule is that, as long as they had a strong sidewall, and they are overall a competent tire, BFG's sometimes come out in front, sometimes Swampers. Just have a winch or someone to pull you out when needed. This video tells us that on THAT run, on THAT day, with whatever the PSI was, the BFG's did better. Not a totally comprehensive study.
Those tsl's aren't even made for that, the bfg obviously is I mean the name of the tire is "krawler" those krawlers won't hang with the swampers n the mud though!
Sorry bout that..stil no offense meant here but ive just never seen tsl's perform well as an all round tire. they r very good for what there made for. My friend Al grooved his and they did a little better.
Ive ran both iroks and crawlers (non comp) both did excellent. iroks r easier on the wallet. this video is poor comparison. the tsl's look bald and arent a crawling tire. if you r new to crawling this video is only for entertainment.
Not only that but the guy stopped at the bottom of the hill Momentum is what carried the other guys up the hill without problems. Id like to see the krawlers stop at the bottom and start up without spinning. It wouldnt happen
Not a good deal! Those swampers are MUD tires not rock tires. Put those little redlines in the mud and see how far you don't go!BFGs will not spin out the mud in the treads they hang on to it making them like a inner tube, slick and round! poor choice in rock crawling tires friend.
I was wanting some all terrains. Not Krawlers. Could imagine how loud them Krawlers would roar on a diesel F-250? Don't think I could ride in that sumbitch! LOL
No surprise here , Krawlers are purpose built for rock crawling , Super Swampers are purpose built for mud , good video though !

The TrXus STS is a better rock crawling tire then the TSL mud tires. Interco makes mud tires not crawling tires....

looks like he had too high of tire pressure in the swampers, idk though, its hard to tell from the video

what you didnt see is that they poured all natural, clear, corn oil after the second crawler before the one with super swampers...haha

swampers, if they are on the rocks need to be aired down....
urdadddy1 2 years ago 4
why does that crawler have mud tires on it??
jameswilliamneppel 2 years ago 2
that is a case by case basis. A swamper needs something to step on. But will last twice as long as a Krawler red dot.
travisg130 2 years ago
the swampers look like they have waaayyy 2 much air n them

you put a mud tire up against a rock crawling tire
interco is the BEST for MUD and if interco is up on the block then test a tire that is a better design for rock like the IROK would make more since
or go back and test the BFG and Swamper in the mud..
i know the BFG would not come even close its all about design
ToyZukOR 2 years ago 4
a little momentum could have went long way

Kind of a poor comparison. Red Labels vs plane jane mud tires. Put them up against to Creepy Crawlers, would be a better battle.
Although this does show the advantage of running a competition grade tire.

Those were not just regular BFG's. They are red labels (competition only), so expect to dish out about 600-700 dollars PER TIRE.
