I love that this car is the last "FU" to the conglomerate auto industry by the company (and it's CEO before ousting himself right before Volkswagen's takeover.) - Developed fully in house; with no over the shoulder 'suggestions' from anyone. You might say this is the last product of Porsche as an independent company.

he was getting out of the car... all sports cars sit rather low to the ground which makes the person getting in/out of the car need to use something to push off of.. its not really an inconvenience, all porsche, ferrari, corvette, have this. its not like getting in or out of your chevy pickup! :)

It's not that it was difficult, he was being careful. Remember, he was driving a prototype and not a production car. BIG difference there. Kind of like getting out of a 904, not the easiest thing in the world to do. What an incredible car!!

The body design is beautiful and almost certainly very advanced in terms of suspension and aerodynamics. The video doesn't talk too much about the power train so we can only guess at that. But my major contention is the cabin of the car. I'm hoping there are less spartan versions possible, because that quite frankly looks like it would be very uncomfortable on a multiple-hour drive.

@topgearnut1989 Depends on how you look at the word hybrid. Most companies use the word hybrid to increase fuel economy. In this case it's for performance reasons because you can get a huge performance increase from electric engines.

The engine sound of Carrera GT is better, but GT is best sounding road legal car ever made, so it is hard to top that. Though I have never seen a video of 918 driving on full throttle, maybe it is as good. I wish that fresh atmospheric breathing kind of a sound of Carrera GT would become the sound of all engines of Porsche.
