what's sad is the Beatles played at Shea when they came to the US- so it had special meaning to Beatles and Beatles fans so of course Billy and Paul played at the final concert- Billy was like a 5th Beatle in studio always doing organ or piano work
What's up Beatles fans? I would be honored if you would check out my version of this song. When I first heard this song I was deeply inspired... I must warn that it is rap music, but not like you hear on TV nowadays. It has a positive message like the rest of my music. Give it a chance and you won't regret it (I think). Jam it or slam it in my comments, I'll take whatever feedback I can get positive or negative. Peace and respect...
The real story is...Fred Wilpon, owner of the NY Mets, spent about $800 million to build the stadium. In return, the team negotiated a 25 year stadium naming rights deal with Citigroup (thus Citi Field). Citi did not buy Shea (it was actually owned and managed by the City of New York). Citi Field is now privately owned and managed :-( . But Shea will always live in the hearts of those who attended baseball games, concerts and other events there over the years.
I WAS THERE!!! My grandma lives like a few blocks away!! it was SO CROWDED ON THE TRAIN!!! but we didnt have to wait! my aunts a conducter!!! i loved this!!!!
If I was there, I would have cried at how beautiful this is.

Umm... Billy Preston was the one who played with the Beatles. Billy Joel never even breathed on them while they were still a band.

I loved that stadium. I still have no idea why it came down. There is no point for it to come down.

I have tears in my eyes when I watch this. Two legendary musicians, a poignant "Let it Be" and a crowd of 50,000 + This is incredible.
