You are right, I keep calling them APU's for some reason, its actually a small T-38 engine indside the F-15 that starts it up.

why not call it a JFS (jet fuel starter) which is what it is called on that aircraft.

Nothing like surviving 20 of my 30 years in service launching my squadron's fleet every day.
Jet cranks still get the excitement level up.
