@websurf90 Should work. I don't see any reason you wouldn't see the launcher executable on the disc... I wish I could help more. Do you get any error messages or anything?
@jacknjellify I did get some strange graphic artifacts, but speed was better in Wine on 64 bit Ubuntu vs. WinXP 32 bit . I have not installed 64 bit windows yet, sorry, but I only have 4 gb of ram in that machine so it shouldn't matter too much.
The graphic artifacts could be a game breaker, depending on the game, but the WineHQ has a pretty good resource on tuning settings to get things perfect... If ur willing to spend time tweaking.
@esLangvin Take a look at 1:26... Those lines in the planet should not be there and when you get down there they are huge canyons (which also should not be there).
how do you crack spores drm i bought spore and had it on vista for a while but vista went to hell so i decided to go with ubuntu and i cant even play spore >:(
one other thing; I used 1.1.9. Your version is older than the one I used sooo... I really don't know if it will work for ya... and I have no plans to downgrade to test it out.
Its non-steam version... But my Portal and Halflife work fine via steam in linux (it will login and everything). With spore non-steam version you need to crack the DRM (cause for some reason that does not connect properly) but once its loaded you can logon to the online community and everything.
Well, you see, its more of an issue that just EA and licensing. If I use a pirated or cracked version, then EA will report me to my ISP, and then they will shut down my internet connection for thirty days.
oh, that sucks... but that has not been a problem on my ISP. I think they would rather not lose me as a customer just because EA is whining at them. Its not like my ISP is owned or even partnered with EA.
For those out there who have this problem: SWITCH ISPs!
How do I install it? When I try to load it with Wine, it does nothing. When I went to browse the disc, it only showed the Mac version. ~Ubuntu 11.04

For me it's don't work. I launch Spore and I see my CPU running, but nothing to screen after 5 min.

Is the performance any worse than in Windows?
I am thinking of installing Spore + C&C + GA on Ubuntu 10.04.

How did you get Spore working on Ubuntu? When I tried, it doesn't work. Is this the steam version or the regular version?

Neat! So when you can use it when you are online without Spore reporting your to your ISP? Oh, and how do you crack Spore's DRM?
drumboy245 2 years ago
I bought the game so EA can suck it up that I cracked it. Just search for the "Spore App" on Google.
