What's with MM fans hating on "We Were Dead..."???

It's my least favorite MM album but it's still very solid. The album still has a decidedly MM sound. Is it a bit more radio-friendly??? Sure. After all, It's not like they sold out and started trying to appeal to the mainstream. It just kind of happened that way. In fact, Issac and the rest of MM couldn't care less about having a hit record. Don't be surprised if their next album goes in a different direction.

There are bands out there that sound completely different on each album but it all sounds good to me aha

No One's First, And You're Next is one of my favorite Modest Mouse releases. I don't know why people are so shocked and angry and depressed by Modest Mouse's changes.

Seriously, if Modest Mouse had started out as a six member band and in the 2000s they went down to just Isaac, Eric and Jeremiah, people would still complain about how the "new" Modest Mouse wasn't good. If they had done no drugs until 2005 and suddenly Isaac started shooting up, everyone would complain about it.
