I think a lot of the commenters are mistaken that this is an F1 can...it's not, it's an A1GP car. It's a single-make series that uses a 90-degree Ferrari engine with much different vehicle specs than F1 cars.

In 2006 Honda broke the F1 speed record at 257 i think, and it was race legal. This wa on salt flats though, with gears so long you could land a plane on them.

jdh919 Can I ask where u got the F1 race weekend speed? Because the F1 official website says it is 219 MPH at Monza in 2005 and it was set by Juan Pablo Montoya when he was at Mclaren.

I was under the impression it was Michael Schumacher at Monza in 03 I think, recoreded at 227mph. I don't know why it says 219mph on the F1 website, its definately plus 225mph- I know even Jean Alesi was recorded at 224mph in a Prost at Monza in 2000/01.
