I agree with u guys!! He is a great scholar, a lover of Prophet (PUBH), ahl-e-bayt and a sufi at heart. It is the Sufis who spread Islam throughout Asia n Africa. Wahabism is destroying Islam coz its a conspiracy.They are politically oriented and far away from spirituality. Dr. Allama Iqbal put wahabi agenda as:

Ye faqa-kasht jo maut se darta nahin zara,

Rooh-e-Mohammad (pbuh) is ke badan se nikaal lo;

Aur fikr-e-arab ko de kar firangi takhiyulaat,

Islaam ko hijaz-e-yamen se nikaal lo.

6exyman Brother you are right but zikr wont soften there hearts beacause they dont have love for the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family). It is a concept beyond there ability to understand lip sevice wont help them.

One requires sincerity and to beg Allah for the truth with no Animosity towards anyone especially those who bad mouth the Awliya for the hadith hudsi in bukhari is clear he who is the enemy of Allah frTiend Allah declares war against. All we can do is preach love and Pray.

Once I was reading this Hadith When Hazart Muhammad (PBUH) asked Hazrat Umer Farooq (RA) how much you love me and He replied Ya Rasullalah I love you alot but some time love of this worls comeup on it, Then Muhammad (PBUH) said your Emman is not complete yet, Later asked and then Hz Umer (RA)relied I love you but some time I think about family then again Hazoor asked now then he said there nothing except You then Hazoor said your Emman is ok now, I think this is Fanna and root of sufism.
