The xbox versions has no ssao in la noire, lower draw distance, more compressed audio and video and FFXIII on xbox is sub hd, with frame rate drops, low quality FMV. Man,if it takes roughly 30 minutes to walk from one side of Skyrim to the next. Then my dream of a TES game other than Arena that allows you to explore the entire continent of Tamriel would most likely take 2-3 hours tops to walk from one side to the next.

It seems that in skyrim there is more snow than ever. In oblivion there were a lot of normal temperature flowers and plants. In skyrim, there is only snow or so it seems to me !!
@solitaire475 Well that's to be expected, if you look at the map on say, oblivion, you'll see that Skyrim is at the northern border of Cyrodiil. The northern areas of Cyrodiil are progressively more mountainous and snowy, so unless there was a massive decline in altitude and a decrease in mountainous areas you could only really expect it to be more snowy ^^ I like how Bethesda does this: ties in all the areas of Tamriel in a way that is realistic and gives them climates that make sense.
@AlwinRoth Hell yeah, my comp isn't the best. It was high end like 3 years ago 1500 laptop. It has served me well, but for games its pretty much a little better than an xbox 360. If my I have to run on low settings I'm happy to even play the games (from what I hear low settings is equal to console)

@antmandemcrest game looks amazing on all platforms, they made sure of that. This game is what Bethesda has wanted to make since Arena. Skyrim is their final test for THIS generation and oblivion was their first step into this gen.

Hello! I'm the guy who recorded this video, and a few people are asking how much of the map I covered. I basically walked in a straight line (or near enough) from Markarth, the westernmost city on the map, to Riften, the easternmost city. If I'd gone over the mountains it would have been longer, but I decided to circle around them as it's easy to get lost up there. So this route took 30 mins, but to cover the WHOLE world would take much, MUCH longer...
The graphics look horrendously aweful compared with what I was expecting, hopefully they're better on PC because it looks like merely a slightly shinier version of Oblivion atm... particularly the textures stand out as being significantly sub-par. Don't get me wrong I'll be buying it anyway, only a fool would buy an Elder Scrolls game for the graphics as opposed to the gameplay, but it is worth noting. Either way, nice video, the fact that you made the effort to prevent spoilers is commendable.
This looks like Oblivion graphically, but I'm going to give it the benfit of the doubt and blame it on YouTube.
It doesn't look as good as I'd hoped, and I hope you can turn off slow-motion finishers because that got annoying as hell in Fallout 3 after 70 or so hours of watching those same animations over and over again.
Oh well, if I was watching a video of Oblivion without ever having played it I would probably think it's rubbish but its one of my all time favourites.
@lcjj7 you'd have to see it on an HDTV, or play on a newer gaming comp. Youtube def has something to do with it, because the game looks leagues better than Oblivion (this vid just doesn't make the game look like it has the best graphics to date, which in reality it doesn't) I'm downloading it right now off of steam and hopefully get to play it within the hour.

It seems that in skyrim there is more snow than ever. In oblivion there were a lot of normal temperature flowers and plants. In skyrim, there is only snow or so it seems to me !!

@solitaire475 Well that's to be expected, if you look at the map on say, oblivion, you'll see that Skyrim is at the northern border of Cyrodiil. The northern areas of Cyrodiil are progressively more mountainous and snowy, so unless there was a massive decline in altitude and a decrease in mountainous areas you could only really expect it to be more snowy ^^ I like how Bethesda does this: ties in all the areas of Tamriel in a way that is realistic and gives them climates that make sense.

It's pretty annoying to see most PC gamers bitch about the graphics the consoles hold.
The graphics are great on console, I don't see why you have to be so nit picky about it and act as if the PC industry is vastly superior.
Just a heads up, I'm a PC gamer.

@AlwinRoth Hell yeah, my comp isn't the best. It was high end like 3 years ago 1500 laptop. It has served me well, but for games its pretty much a little better than an xbox 360. If my I have to run on low settings I'm happy to even play the games (from what I hear low settings is equal to console)

Its more about screen resolution and over 60FPS (not 30fps like consoles) that make the PC version better.
It is superior on PC but not vastly.

OR you can buy a console for no more than $600 (initial ps3 price at launch) and have decent graphics and a vast collection of games for at least the next 6 years. i have a gaming rig that i built for 2000 dollars back in 08 and right now its pretty damn incapable of handling all the new games on max

The game is beautiful, it plays beautiful and anyone who tries to compare this game with games like BF3 and MW3 clearly doesn't understand how the underlying technology works and how each engine is designed to fit different needs. If only more people would understand that.

It's just more expensive. You're crazy if you're trying to say the PC doesn't hold a vastly improved visual and interface experience. However, this doesn't mean it's "better". It's up to the individual to choose.
Most PC gamers are frustrated with consoles simply because gaming is a business. Because more people play on consoles, less attention is given to PC gamers.

@antmandemcrest game looks amazing on all platforms, they made sure of that. This game is what Bethesda has wanted to make since Arena. Skyrim is their final test for THIS generation and oblivion was their first step into this gen.

@aekole2 i have a 9600gt and a e5200 procesor, it cost me 400 euro 2 years ago and i can play every game in nice settings...you have to buy your games, i can download they... plus, i can edit video with my pc and many other things than a chiper pc cant or do it slow...i like the mouse in first person, 3th person, rpg, and estrategic games, and if i want i can change to joistick...a decade you say?...play whit a nintendo 64 then

@aekole2 In my country the x360 games are double more expensive and if you don't wanna buy your games for hundreds, then your console is just sitting there. I like consoles, yes they doesn't have to be upgraded, but I use my PC for video editing, web design and more and I prefer to upgrade it, so I can do it easier, than buy a new game every month, wich will cost me like 700 hundred a year (in $) and I will keep my PC upgraded every 2-3 years, which will cost me like 200-300 $

@aekole2 this is not hate, just somenthing i wanna say. i buyed a pc in 2007 and i can run skyrim in pretty good graphiks, and my pc is 5 years old. So on that point you arent that right, and that ca. about when a new console comes out, every 5-6 years :)

I built it with money I spared over the months... and now I can enjoy playing Skyrim with the highest possible configuration not because i'm a rich-nerd-kid but because gaming is my passion and hobby not like you casual gamer, your expectations towards a game are smaller compared to those of a pc gamer only because you play on console.. different expectations=different budget

Hello! I'm the guy who recorded this video, and a few people are asking how much of the map I covered. I basically walked in a straight line (or near enough) from Markarth, the westernmost city on the map, to Riften, the easternmost city. If I'd gone over the mountains it would have been longer, but I decided to circle around them as it's easy to get lost up there. So this route took 30 mins, but to cover the WHOLE world would take much, MUCH longer...

The graphics look horrendously aweful compared with what I was expecting, hopefully they're better on PC because it looks like merely a slightly shinier version of Oblivion atm... particularly the textures stand out as being significantly sub-par. Don't get me wrong I'll be buying it anyway, only a fool would buy an Elder Scrolls game for the graphics as opposed to the gameplay, but it is worth noting. Either way, nice video, the fact that you made the effort to prevent spoilers is commendable.

This looks like Oblivion graphically, but I'm going to give it the benfit of the doubt and blame it on YouTube.
It doesn't look as good as I'd hoped, and I hope you can turn off slow-motion finishers because that got annoying as hell in Fallout 3 after 70 or so hours of watching those same animations over and over again.
Oh well, if I was watching a video of Oblivion without ever having played it I would probably think it's rubbish but its one of my all time favourites.

Youtube def has something to do with it, because the game looks leagues better than Oblivion (this vid just doesn't make the game look like it has the best graphics to date, which in reality it doesn't) I'm downloading it right now off of steam and hopefully get to play it within the hour.
