Its easy to come to that conclusion if you nit pick history. Today people waving confederate flags, saying the south will rise again, calling minorities a no good nuissance, fear mongering, and praising confederates are all republicans. Republicans are forever running racist ads and making racist statements weekly. Republicans willfuly ignore all the racism in their party. The democrat party is huge tent party with diverse people and opinions.
@TheCaliCapitalist That's hilarious. The Democratic party despises anyone who doesn't agree with them. For instance, anti-abortionists are intensely disliked in the Democratic party. And how exactly are Republicans racist? Is it because we oppose affirmative action? If a person can't do the job, then he shouldn't get it. It sounds reasonable to me.
I think both parties dont like people who dont agree with their party. Also republicans are racist for assuming that minorities vote for them because they want a free handout and conservatives always assume that a black in high position wasnt qualified for it.
@TheCaliCapitalist I never heard Republicans say that a black in high power wasn't qualified for it. Besides, look at all the nasty comments that Democrats hurl at black Republicans like Clarence Thomas. That's racism in my book.
In order to be hispanic or black and a Democrat, we have to remain willfully ignorant of history, and the Democrats record of failed promises. We have to bow before the lies of their elitist leaders that treat us like helpless children that, if not for them, America's racist culture, lead by evil Republicans, would imprison and murder us all. THEY DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT US! They love POWER and the perks of it. We are bought with entitlements and that's good enough for most of us. SICKENING
@GTR66960 Nope. Democrats REMAIN racists by trying to keep minorities (I am one) on the gov't plantation of welfare, entitlements, high taxes. Democrats have championed abortion, which has resulted in the deaths of MILLIONS of our babies. They make it nearly impossible for us to start small business thru taxes and regulation. Democrats still complain about the same issues they were supposed to fix 40 years ago! THEY PLAY US FOR FOOLS! They think we are helpless, and only want our votes.
The Republican Party was established as an anti-slavery movement. The only reason that Southern Democrats switched to the Republican Party was because FDR was elected and many of the Democrats thought he was a Socialist so they switched parties. It has nothing to do with "racism" like many think and they did not switch. Just many Southern Democrats switched to become Republicans. The same Democrats are there, just now Socialist.
@GTR66960 That's what they want you to believe. Senator Byrd remained a democrat, larouche remained a democrate, Wallace remained a democrat, and yes even Clinton is a democrat. Clinton was also co-author of the book, J. William Fulbright and His Time: A Political Biography, which glorified and praised the career of Fulbright. Fulbright was a racist segregationist who Clinton called a mentor. His other mentor was Orval Faubus, the Democrat Governor of Arkansas - google him.

WOW, I just noticed this dubious video of GOP desperation gleefully mentioned MLK voted for Eisenhower and skipped over Kennedy and Johnson who he also voted for according to long friend Rev Joseph Lowery, to mention he also voted for Nixon. Wow, seems their trying to keep you deceived.
President Obama called his grandmother a typical white person.
President Obama sat in the Church of a black supremecist for 30 years.
President Obama appointed a woman to the supreme court whom believes one race can interpret the law better than another.
Where were the liberals speaking against this vile language? They weren't! They believe in racism as long it is against white people & they launch assaults of racial attacks on conservative minorities & women.
I know that plus some. Truman did all he could to desegregate the army. IT was called an executive order. Historians have said Truman would've never gotten anything for blacks passed in the 40s. Eisenhower only finished it. Those bigots changed parties because they blamed the Democratic lead congress for allowing the passage of civil rights bills, and because Truman, FDR, and Johnson began supporting blacks earlier.
And in the 60s the Democratic party was divided between the racist south and the liberal north. See post below. The Southern dems realized the liberal north had the majority of the party. So they left for the GOP, that is how the GOP won Dixie. The history of the GOP was made a long time ago and Lincolns days have died a long time ago. The modern history o the GOP is very ugly; David Duke, the NAAWP & CCC 2 hate groups started by GOP members.
Is that what the GOP brainwashing or told you to think or reply? Sorry, I actually do some reading in college. And don't blame liberal professor, because the only college instructor who talked politics in class was an out spoken fiscal conservative Republican/Libertarian. And last I check many Reps are claiming many of those Dixie Dems died Dems, but many like Gov Wallace (AL) died an AIP, and Helms and Thurman (NC) died Republicans after leaving the Dems for being to support civil rights.
So you say the GOP is pro-personal reponisbilty but yall blame the Democrats are keeping blacks poor. But how could that be when your party believes in personal responsiblity.
But this is crap. I'm black and I will continue voted Democrat. So will my friends and family. Minus one.
"Why do you want the Democrats to apologize but not whites."
See, I absolutely agree with the fact that racism is alive and well and just as common as it was during the civil rights era. The only difference is, the racists changed color.
What are you some stupid fucking forgetful naive dick, like the rest of the GOP? It didn't change colors, it went underground you cowardice intolerance harboring arse. I live in MS, where I was recently warned my whites friends to avoid certain places in that small town where my grands live. So your preconditioned, useless, and wrong audacious assessment is in typical GOP thinking, simple, to avoid the true racist past that hinder blacks.
Well actual no one really knows about MLKjr, but his father MLKsr was but later started endorsing Democrat like blacks. MLKjr campaigned in moral and socio-political arenas of human affairs. Today Republicans are anti socio-politics, so that makes him moderate.
The only person who says MLK was a Republican is his niece. He children dont say and his wife didnt. Also, 2 of his 3 living children attended the 08 Demo Conv and the men who witnessed his assassination all are dems.
What does this have to do with today's Democrats? The Republican Party and the Democratic Party were very, very different parties 150 years ago. The Democratic Party used to be conservative, while the GOP was the party of the Northeastern abolitionists and intellectuals, who were the forerunners of today's liberals.
So is that why Democrats voted Obama and all 3 black governors of the US?
-Yea the Democrats Party voted 64% for the civil rights bill because we had more racists southerners then. That's why we got rid of them and gave to yall. The Northern Democrats voted 98% for the bill while Northern Republicans only 84% for the bill. Nearly every southerner in both parties voted against the bill. The only southern Republican voted against he bill.
@jobw87 They voted for them because they have thoroughly brainwashed them into being slaves for the DNC. Dems are the best salesmen you will ever see. They haved the shitiest product, but they could sell snow to an eskimo, sand to an arab and slavery to a black. And you just look at the outer packaging and say "oh this is great". Nevermind that its destroying your culture.
@jwillard1971 That's presumptuous. We weren't brainwashed by anyone. Remember the 60s, where the GOP literally abandoned efforts segregation. MLK wrote regarding the RNC's nomination of Barry Goldwater who was anti-civil rights act,"frenzied wedding ... of the KKK and the radical right."
"The Republican Party geared its appeal and program to racism, reaction, and extremism," King wrote. If I lived between 1860s until 1964, I'd be a Republican, but since the 60s, the two parties changed.
@jwillard1971 MLK's records indicates he left the GOP. MLK voted for JFK and LBJ according to his friend Rev Lowery (D). In fact, the majority of MLK's associates and friends were described as liberals according to Rev Jerry Falwell's sermon "Integration or Not" in which he also called MLK a fraud and said God mandated segregation, so don't change it. And MLK's living kids all attended the last DNC convention. I'll trust MLK's kids over his niece. Oh, and his father also left the GOP.
@jwillard1971 So, we voted because your party became desperate to win. They became deceitful which is apparent by their usage of the "Southern Strategy," which the RNC finally acknowledged and apologized for on 06/14/05. So, contrary to your officious big brotherish attitude towards use unwary blacks (what you are implying) we sensed the GOP's desperation, deception, and we left. You're the mindless slave who's peddling GOP ideology that's hardening our already difficult lives.
@jwillard1971 I'm aware of that, hence, I literally said just that, but it wasn't biased like yours. I suggested both parties have changed since then.
Newt Gingrich,"No Republican here should kid themselves about it. The greatest leaders in fighting for an integrated America in the twentieth century were in the Democratic party. The fact is, it was the liberal wing of the Democratic party that ended segregation."
@jobw87 Yeah, Repubs have been ignorant of the actual history due to buying into the Dem propoganda. The biggest proponent of civil rights among Presidents was in fact by far Richard M Nixon. I'm NOT a fan of his, but he campaigned for civil rights, while JFK opposed in 1960 and worked far more for integration by quiet, peaceful negotiations with local leaders and not forcing it via busing, which has been a disaster.
@Aegius so just be he campaigned for it in 1960, he was the most contributory of the presidents? But, if you're right, I still don't like the guy. In won in 68 because he orchestrated the Southern Strategy in which he pandered to former racist southern Dems or Dixiecrats to win. He introduced and exploited hatred and prejudices they had for blacks to get enough votes to in. So, I don't see you logic, but I will look it up, that's why I call the GOP the "Son of Dixiecrats," literally they are.
@jobw87 He outright campaigned for civil rights in 1960 in campaign ads. He also pushed adamantly for civil rights and integration throughout his presidential term. I'm NOT a fan of Nixon either due to Keynesian economic policies and Watergate. As for the Dixicrats and racist Democrats, they remained Democrats. Martin L. KIng was a Repub. Don't give me BS about them becoming Repubs. That's a myth and a lie.
@Aegius@Aegius 1. I figured you were some sort of a self-righteous, omniscient, and cocky and bumptious Libertarian or GOPer, maybe even a nuttier Teabagger. Wasn't Storm Thurman the Dixiecrats leader defected the Democrats like others? It's obvious that his like-minded followers did it too, because the south magically turned red from blue. Nixon initiated and implemented a racist campaign to tempt the remaining disfranchisement frmr southern racist democrats to join them.
@jobw87 Most Dixiecrats moved or stayed in the Democrat party. Thurmond was an exception, not the rule. Nixon didn't initiate a racist campaign, but adamantly campaigned for civil rights and alienated Southern White voters, who JFK got. their votes. Goldwater later admitted to being wrong about opposing the 1964 Civil Rights act, but did so on Libertarian grounds, not racist grounds. MLK was a Republican & so were most Blacks. Now Blacks vote Democrat and get used for it. That's true.
@Aegius Boy, you guys are so wrongheaded that its pathetic.
USATODAY, 6/14/2005 "Some Republicans gave up on winning the African-American vote, looking the other way or trying to benefit politically from racial polarization," Mehlman said at the annual convention of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. "I am here today as the Republican chairman to tell you we were wrong."
"Mehlman's apology to the NAACP at the group's convention in Milwaukee marked the first time a top Republican Party leader has denounced the so-called Southern Strategy employed by Richard Nixon and other Republicans to peel away white voters in what was then the heavily Democratic South. Beginning in the mid-1960s, Republicans encouraged disaffected Southern white voters to vote Republican by blaming pro-civil rights Democrats for racial unrest and other racial problems."
@jobw87 YAWN. So a Rep from the NAALCP(L= Left-wing) stated that the Repubs are racist? They would call them racist as they made a Faustian deal w/ the Dems. Thurmond was the exception and most Dixicrats stayed with the Dems. King was a conservative. After the Civil Rights Act of 1964 passed(larger Repub vote) and Voting Rights Act of 1965 was passed and real school integration took place under Nixon, his Left-wing views propeled him to the Dems. You said NOTHING in your posts.
@Aegius You may want to review how LIBERALS AND CONSERVATIVES differ. The literal definition of a conservative is " tending or disposed to maintain existing views, conditions, or institutions," Merriam Webster. Lets contextually conservative historical stances. That means they preferred maintaining loyalty to Britain, keeping slavery, suppressing the Civil Rights movement, and wanting everlasting Jim Crow. The 1860 Democrats were conservatives, like the south as always been.
@Aegius You didn't dissuaded me either you brainwashed philistine. Are you pro Affirmative Act and Reparations like MLK was. Would you have fervently boycotted Goldwater's election like "conservative" MLK did? Would you have been a Unionist during the Civil War? (I bet you answered "no" to them all). I mentioned the last one just to illustrate how the19 century Dems are the progression obstructing conservatives of today and I bet they would have been against Reparations, Affirmative Action too.
@Aegius Who cares it the Civil Act passed largely of Repub votes. The Dems dominated everything in DC then, so they could've easily thwarted it. But, I beg you to think and delve for yourself. The Dems were divide within then. They had Northern Dem who voted 98% for the Act vs Southern Conservative Dems (Dixiecrats) who voted 95% against. But because the Northern Dems have a 2/3 majority of the party it passed with 66% vote over, meaning it would have passed without Repubs.
@Aegius Thurmond wasn't the exception, they're were many voters and politicians your party swayed. I never called Goldwater a racist for his opposition, if I didn't it was a mistake. Didn't say MLK probably was a Republican (I don't care) and so where many blacks both famous and ignoble, but many switched sides too. Kings was never a conservative. He wrote in his book that blacks should receive reparations, and expressed a need for Affirmative Action before its time.
@Aegius And Nixon adamantly and opportunistically crusade in his Southern Strategy too. Look, the GOP finally denounced those racist practices in June of 05. 2. You rightfully disassociate the Dems and Dixiecrats, but you wrongfully unified them as racist. The Dems were mostly the Liberal and Northern Wing of the party, the Dixiecrat were the Southern and Conservative wing of the Dems; big difference my preconditioned and wrongheaded contesting friend.
@Aegius 3. MLKs party affliction is impertinent. Many blacks were Republicans too, but not now, and you can thank MLK for that. Apparently, MLK and Goldwater were engaged in a seemingly endless quarrel, over Goldwaters civil rights stance, which MLK called Hiterist. MLK fervently and tireless boycotted Goldwaters presidential nomination for the GOP and he pushed for his defeat.
@Aegius Lastly, and ironically, since the altercation, blacks have not voted GOP much since. This was MLKs first and only explicit political move during his lifetime BTW, kind of. He unambiguously advocated for reparations in his book Why Cant We Wait, and affirmative action in a 1968 Playboy interview.
Well if blacks are still slaves, then what does it make you and your follow righty goons, slaves too or puppets? Because you guys are tools. The use you for votes, and they seem to be your caregivers because they instruct your lives, tell your have to feel regarding some political issue, ect. and they're contradictory and always seem to be flawed in what they prohibit you from doing while making millions off your oblivious clowns.
@jwillard1971 Nope, the UK, Norway, and Denmark's welfare system gives more to the poor, yet they seem to do fine. And their usage of welfare then cause them to invent "rap" bigot.
Why do you want the Democrats to apologize but not whites. I really want to know the answer so I can shut up. Someone please reply. I need clarification.
@jobw87 Guess again genius. Your comparing apples and oranges. Not all whites share the same ideology. Democrats are a political party that they join BECAUSE they share the same ideology. So no, sorry, your wrong. All Dems are guilty.
@jwillard1971 Absolutely not simpleton, just like races, the party is massive and unwieldy. Repeatedly historical and presently, parties have different fractions. The Dems today have conservative, moderate, and liberal Dems, like the GOP. Indications of this is, the voting session of the Civil Act of 65, in which Northern Liberal Dems voted 98 for the act while southern racist conservative Dems voted nearly unanimously against, which indicates not all Dems were racist bigots.
@jobw87 Guess again smart guy. See you want to force it to fit your twisted view, but unfortunately, thats not the way it is in reality. The fact that you have a few odd balls in a party, by no means makes them different ideologically. Because 99% of Dems support murdering unborn children and 1% does not, the fact that the 1% throw their lot in with the 99% is what makes them guilty. Races, however, do not generally share ideology tho. Unless your black cuz they're still slaves.

"I am here today as the Republican chairman to tell you we were wrong."
jobw87 1 year ago
@Aegius Same artical

He wrote in his book that blacks should receive reparations, and expressed a need for Affirmative Action before its time.
jobw87 1 year ago

Oh, and rap is destroying my culture, prick.
jobw87 1 year ago
@jobw87 No, you and your welfare mentality is destroying your culture. Your welfare mentality is what produces "rap".
jwillard1971 1 year ago
@jwillard1971 Nope, the UK, Norway, and Denmark's welfare system gives more to the poor, yet they seem to do fine. And their usage of welfare then cause them to invent "rap" bigot.

Oh and 1 last question.
Why do you want the Democrats to apologize but not whites. I really want to know the answer so I can shut up. Someone please reply. I need clarification.
jobw87 3 years ago
@jobw87 Uhhh....because not all whites are guilty? Dumb ass.
jwillard1971 1 year ago
@jwillard1971 Yea and not all Democrats are guilty? Dumb ass!!
jobw87 1 year ago
@jobw87 Guess again genius. Your comparing apples and oranges. Not all whites share the same ideology. Democrats are a political party that they join BECAUSE they share the same ideology. So no, sorry, your wrong. All Dems are guilty.
jwillard1971 1 year ago
@jwillard1971 Absolutely not simpleton, just like races, the party is massive and unwieldy. Repeatedly historical and presently, parties have different fractions. The Dems today have conservative, moderate, and liberal Dems, like the GOP. Indications of this is, the voting session of the Civil Act of 65, in which Northern Liberal Dems voted 98 for the act while southern racist conservative Dems voted nearly unanimously against, which indicates not all Dems were racist bigots.
jobw87 1 year ago
@jobw87 suppose to be the Northern Liberal Dems voted 98% for the act.
jobw87 1 year ago
@jobw87 Guess again smart guy. See you want to force it to fit your twisted view, but unfortunately, thats not the way it is in reality. The fact that you have a few odd balls in a party, by no means makes them different ideologically. Because 99% of Dems support murdering unborn children and 1% does not, the fact that the 1% throw their lot in with the 99% is what makes them guilty. Races, however, do not generally share ideology tho. Unless your black cuz they're still slaves.
