  • Awesome video!

  • IDIOT, get rid of the stupid music and it'll be ALOT better!

  • damn columbia looks like a rural farm in this video

  • Two correction, this was not Engine 72, but Engine 71 and the fire at the Magic Shop in Ellicott City was in 1989..........

  • As for the airhorns, they were Grover Studders and actually were tuned by personnel at the station. since they resided on the roof, having the windows down made for a very clear sound of them. That is why I can't hear some things these days, from the American LaFrance equipment we had at our station.

Hope this clears up some of the questions

  • Jeff was the Chief of Operations when the video was posted. As for the music, it was added to cover up some unwanted verbal comments made during the trip to Ellicott City, MD. Sorry if you think it ruined it, but it was inserted to protect from the conversation and comments being made going down the road.

As for Station 2 Long Gate, yes they drove right thru where the Station exist today, the small ramp going off Rt 29 was such, you could travel relatively fast.

  • The original tape was VHS and that is why the siren sounds the way it does, with the standard mic. The tape was made from Enigne 72, which was a 1972 American LaFrance, so the tape was done pre 1980. The driver this day was Retired Firefighter 1st class RicKY Barnes and with Lt. Jeffery King riding shotgun. Between the two, they provided the sounds effects of airhorns and siren. Both were known to use those tools in a great amount..

  • ITS FROM AROUND 1990 . THE 108 BRIDGE WAS BUILT SMOMETIME AROUND THEN .89-92 ISH

  • i love the q siren but you should really use a different siren to clear traffic

  • fix that siren or shoot that fucking cat

  • Sorry about that Dave, but it is the old VHS tape......

  • @butthead361 LMAO lol funny shit

  • lol i livein howard county, in columbia maryland around tamar drive

  • love the giggly siren flaw of the cams mic no doubt

  • It is from a VHS tape that was over 30 years old....... siren was ok, just that new technology of VHS for the time

  • whats up with the siren.....its all giggly and stuff

  • it sounds cool

  • Are you aware that this video is ruined with this music?

  • Comment removed

  • adding music just ruins this type of video

  • i havent watched the video yet and i see the comments mostly about the siren lets find out =]!

  • It's on t-30 Film, still awesome

  • IS THIS A OLD FIRE TRUCK

  • I think its old in comparision to today. But this video is from atleast late 80s or early 90s. So it's mostly like fairly new when this was shot.

  • is it the camera or does the Q sound like a ghost?

  • The siren is hilarious .=D

  • rofl at the siren at 0:34.

  • Is it just me, or did you guys drive straight through where station 2 at Long Gate shopping center is currently at?

Haha, I knew it. Now if I had to guess I would say this video is late 80's, early 90's.

    Things missing...
