  • @byDannz Dude, seriously, go watch it. I'm not a big fan of horses myself either, but seriously, this movie is SERIOUSLY fucking worth watching.

  • @karindi1

    No, it's not.

Firstoff there's about 2-3 minutes of the fucking main character, and then barely any shots at the Horse, just pointless cavalry charges against MG's (retarded).

    AKA, It was bad.

It wasn't spiritual like the other films he makes, and the end was very anti-climatic.

  • @RyanBrooksby Meh, to each their own I guess. I thought it was quite good :)

  • @karindi1

    It was just...

Yeah I know it's an opinion, but couldn't they have shot more pics of the ACTUAL horse? It was too focused on the Horse just lugging shit around.

  • @RyanBrooksby remember that the mg's were hidden in the treeline, the brits though they were attacking an undefended camp.

  • @bh5496

Well, yet another example of our incompetent Military leaders.

Come on, from Somme, it's obvious WW1 British Generals sucked.

  • i watch this movie today i thing its one of my favorites :)

  • Some of you missed the point here (of life probably). The point was (in particular where the British and German soldiers rescued the horse from the barbed wire) that amongst all the horror they saw a thing of beauty that they wanted to preserve. No matter how miraculous it may have seemed at the time, surrounded by death something wonderful wanted to, and had, survived. That it was a horse was all the more poignant for those men; a 4000 year old relationship withstands anything.

  • 2its a horse fr fucks sake

  • ? do i get this right, this film is about a mount? a warfilm about a horse?

what about the fuckin millions of young men that died for their countries?

the stupid horse didn't know shit and didn't intend shit- u could make a film about the bravery of the bombs hailing down 'knowing' they'll never get home ...

    O.o

  • @wingolf22 there are already one million of those movies you dumb fuck. Stieven Spielberg is the best ...

  • @hasirpker the horse still has no idea of whats going on around it and cannot be brave for that reason alone. it is merely a tool of war in that time and place - they for sure felt fear, but never anything like bravery or pride for their country or fought for getting home or for their comrades or anything because they are just animals

if it was a dog, it'd be a different story (while still childish)

but this is just dumb ... and so are u kiddie flaming me like some lil bitch grow up

  • @wingolf22 i agree that the men should get more recognition , but as faras i can see its the story of the boy & his horse

  • thumb up if you came to trailer after watching it in hd online at boorek . com

  • 'The great war' a war that i will never forget :'-)

  • I saw war horse live in the westend in London & not going to lie almost every person in the audience was in tears. And that was a wooden horse lol! can you imagine how powerful this movie must be with a real one?

written by josh taking gcse history aged 13 =)

  • DONT YOU Benifit twats get it???

  • Why did you dickheads watch this movie or read the book!!!!?????????? Dont you get it? Its not about you or your fucking countries , its about frienship and love and promises and about why the hell you find ways to argue about nothing. War is and always will be , started by arseholes in politics for their own gain not for yours, Enjoy the movie you stupid idiots all sides lost and still do. It's about the spirit of horse and man you dick, and that fictional horse has bigger balls than you both

  • to sum up what I've said elsewhere...

this movie is an overblown overlong streaming crock of horse manure...

put out by an overrated movie director well past his prime...

  • "Mr spielberg i have a talking horse and i think we both know what that means, it's time to ride our talking horses together."

  • @TheHoLidayer your right a dog dieing is way mor important... asshole u dnt have feelings do u?

  • Ok guys, sorry for my bad english, but ill say something. Many people thing that killing Austro-Vengrian imerator caused the war. No!!!!!!!!!!!! All countryes in both allies wanted the war. Buut the most wanted war German empire because its economy wanted it. Yes war was bloody but after ww1 ended democracy countryes said that WW1 caused by Germany. Its the very bug lie as i said. And ww1 was not IDEOLOGY WAR ITS ALL WAS ABOUT NATION INTERESTS MOSTLY IN ECONOMIC AND POLITICS.

  • @darksoulzzzz Bitch did we ask for an explanation?

  • @ireallydontcare259 why mad brah?

  • @darksoulzzzz WoW You are sooo smart! :O

  • @darksoulzzzz It was an assination that caused it...basically,, Austria-hungary started the war..

They acted on serbia, serbia wanted help from Russia, Austria then wanted Germany's help.

  • @Eshayzbra96 Yes the occasion needed all contryes as i said, and serbian terrorist did it because they had own problems in politics. Yes Austra-hungary charged 1st but their army was not good in compare to german army.

  • @darksoulzzzz Yes but, Germany shouldn't of paid for something they didn't start. Which is what Hitler later saved Germany from but starting ANOTHER war.

  • @darksoulzzzz IT WAS NOT GERMANY'S FAULT. IT WAS NATIONALISM AND DAMN IMPERIALISM. IN THE END, ALL WERE AT FAULT, BUT THEN THAT DAMN SEBR HAD TO KILL A DUKE THAT ACTUALLY WANTED TO HELP SERBIA, AND IT ALL WENT FROM THERE.

  • @darksoulzzzz thanks... lots of folks need to know that.

  • @darksoulzzzz

not the germans started the war.. the austrian people did it

  • @666DarkTommy I didnt say germans started the war i said germans economy wanted it the most. The world war 1 showed us that humanity soon or later will start the war, the psychology aspect of ww1 that there will be always ahte between nations.

  • @darksoulzzzz do you mean like hitler or mussolini? yea u are right..

  • @darksoulzzzz

thats why i think steven spielbergs war movies are mportant...they let us think and debate about that issue

the creepy thing is that the people back in 1914 were lied to to fight for their antional interests and the same thing happens in this verymoment!

  • @darksoulzzzz No shit.

  • @nuttex why mad?

  • @darksoulzzzz Why not?

  • @darksoulzzzz ... No there is no clear "how" it was caused.

  • Speilberg would always make anti german movies..

  • The movie was amazing. I saw it today. My favourite stories were the ones with the two German brothers, and the one with the French girl and her grandpa

  • i love war movies, i love horses, but this looks so cheesy ><

  • If you're not a sucker for syrupy animal movies then this movie will be tedious and empty to you---like it was to me.

  • Poland had the best hacking on the world!!

Polish Hussars, Polish Uhlans and Polish Cavalry during II world war !! ;D

  • *YAWN*

Not another WWI movie where the good guys are the Brits....how about someone make a movie where the good guys and protagonists are the Central Powers, for a change? That would be ace and would also do history some justice, for a change (a welcome change, from the usual one-sided anglophone Hollywood pathos)

  • @Griesmayer What are you talking about? Seriously that is really untrue. Many American films portray the British as the villains or wrong doers at best. Have you seen the awkwardly anti-British 'The Patriot' or any number of 18th or 19th Century set movies that seem to spell out in bold letters that the British are evil? I know you only said WWI, but let it be said that historically the British were basically the good guys in this, alongside the French etc The Germans were gearing up since 1909.

  • @ThePalaeontologist you're saying that because u grew up in the anglophone world & were indoctrinated to believe that the Entente were the good folks defending freedom, democracy and apple pie. In reality, the whole war began due to the assassination of the Austrian archduke and refusal of Bosnia to hand over the killer. If anything, WWI should've been a private war between Austria & Bosnia and the rest of the world had no business with it. But too many alliances were made...

  • @Griesmayer Erm, no. DO NOT fecking patronise me with all this 'anglophone' rubbish and do not insult my intelligence. I am no fool to propaganda. YOU are confused by the lower level textbooks, probably German from your name, and YOU only look at the aristocratic version. I care about the good and honest private class tommies in the trenches literally slogging their guts out for their country. REGARDLESS of nationality, such men died bravely under horrific circumstances. Poor cannonfodder.

  • @ThePalaeontologist hmm, looks like I hit a nerve there. One thing is true though - Germany had no business to use the conflict in Bosnia as a pretence to attack France. It's safe to call Germany an aggressor, but don't drag Austria into this pot.

  • @Griesmayer Erm, ironically, the Germans dragged the Austrians into it (it being, the grander scale of this terrible new 'Great War') headlong. The British sought to protect their Imperial reputation and possessions. Let it be said, that if the French fell without British support, then we can bet on the zealous Kaiser to have had designs on the British. Though the Royal Navy would stop any invasion, the chances are that somehow the Germans may have gotten through with French ports to built ships

  • @Griesmayer I read the truth in history, right. BTW I know A LOT about this. The British and Germans had been competing for years before the war began in earnest. German was gagging for the fighting to start. They had been amassing strength since before 1909. The British, with still the largest Empire ever known, and considerable military might, were also eager to punish the germans for recent trangressions (eg Dreadnaught copying + production, and Krupp supplying the Boers in the Boer Wars)

  • @Griesmayer What you actually meant to say, was that SERBIA and Austro-Hungary should have battled it out alone. Russia sided with Serbia, Germany eagerly sided with Austro-Hungary. France declared war on Germany and Great Britain soon followed, after German invaded Belgium under the Schlieffen Plan. The British at first only deployed the BEF (British Expeditionary Force) These older regiments soon became depleted by mid-1915. Many of the 750,000 died. They became dubbed 'the old contemptables'.
