The main reason why the U.S. Basketball team did not win the gold in the last olympic games is because the composition of the team is not suited for an international basketball competition.

In the previous dream team, they always had a legitimate post player that can attract the double team down low and that will create an opportunity to the outside shooters to take 3-point shots. Everyone knows that 3-point shot is a very vital weapon in an international games.
