i have seen broken legs in mma yes..but most of them resulted from the fighter kicked way too much or the bones hit in a bad way . However beside twisting arm in an arm bar or doing submission. Other than that techniques that can break neck arm are not used in mma even i personally saw the techniques used in real life. I like wrestling. i see the art of submission. But again in real life you can submit 2 guys at a time but you can knock two guys out with your striking.. or kicking.
For some reason when I watch Buakaw's rise up the K-1 ranks, it reminds me of punch out, except there's no Alistair Overeem waiting for him in the last fight before the ending credits LOL! I can tell you one thing. Every Mauy Thai's fighters have to start to fight when they were young like 5-6 years old. Every morning they have to wake up 5-6 am. They run with a heavy tire which is tied their body behind. Every muscles have built for taking impacts from punching and kicking by someone hit them. I can say that they have iron body. They kick hard and punch hard. And they fight with their brain and aim to weakness of opponent.

muay thai is the most effective stand up martial art... without all the fancy moves of other martial arts around the world it becomes a very useful and unique fight system. i would say aikido is also another useful form of martial art... you need to know what tool to use in every specific situation, for instance, if you´re lying on the floor with your opponent, you would probably use jiujitsu... cheers!
i disagree Boxing, is very good, and i can see mayweather Ko'ing alot of these guys, also too lyoto machida and his brother use karate, and then iv seen Serkan Yilmaz KO a bunch of guys in K-1 until he moved to mma. muay thai isnt the best at all it just matters who is fighting

Kungfu is the basket term means martial in general. In china alone, there are hundred of traditional styles. In a street fight where no set of rules applied, muy thai does not have any edge. It is not on the ability of the fighter but the way they have been trained. Muay Thai is the most effective because of the conditioning the fighters go through. If you have ever been to a proper Muay Thai camp you would know that training is just beating the crap out of each other. Do your research

i have seen broken legs in mma yes..but most of them resulted from the fighter kicked way too much or the bones hit in a bad way . However beside twisting arm in an arm bar or doing submission. Other than that techniques that can break neck arm are not used in mma even i personally saw the techniques used in real life. I like wrestling. i see the art of submission. But again in real life you can submit 2 guys at a time but you can knock two guys out with your striking.. or kicking.

I can tell you one thing. Every Mauy Thai's fighters have to start to fight when they were young like 5-6 years old. Every morning they have to wake up 5-6 am. They run with a heavy tire which is tied their body behind. Every muscles have built for taking impacts from punching and kicking by someone hit them. I can say that they have iron body. They kick hard and punch hard. And they fight with their brain and aim to weakness of opponent.

however according to you i dont think muy thai is any better than any other fighting system. I am not chinese. I am not defending chinese or koreans. I just know that it pretty much depends on the fighters, not the art. There are many other deadly martial arts that the people used in wars, however they are not applied in MMA. Because MMA is a sport. You are not allowed to do low kick poke eyes, twist arms or legs or pressure points etc. there are many ways to kill in martial arts.

muay thai is the most effective stand up martial art... without all the fancy moves of other martial arts around the world it becomes a very useful and unique fight system. i would say aikido is also another useful form of martial art... you need to know what tool to use in every specific situation, for instance, if you´re lying on the floor with your opponent, you would probably use jiujitsu... cheers!

Bruce Lee made Kung Fu stand out also cos he took out all the useless technique Kung Fu had (eg mantis and monkey style) to form jeet kune do which is just made up of simple but effective kicks and punches. no it isnt...K-1's rules cripple muay thai completely. sweeps, throws are pretty much pointless, no catches, no elbows, no full clinhing, 1 hand clinching but only for a few seconds, only 1 knee at a time, and punches score too high...K-1 is a kickboxing organization

@benjidorn its only as good as its presenter. so do not make assumption my friend. i can see how effective muy thai in MMA, but MMA is not even real street fighting. Kungfu is the basket term means martial in general. In china alone, there are hundred of traditional styles. In a street fight where no set of rules applied, muy thai does not have any edge. What buakaw has is strength and precision. I can see he is strong. He does well with his basic kicks and strikes

It is not on the ability of the fighter but the way they have been trained. Muay Thai is the most effective because of the conditioning the fighters go through. If you have ever been to a proper Muay Thai camp you would know that training is just beating the crap out of each other. Do your research
