Anyone who thought Martin would win this run-off is unfamiliar with Georgia politics. A lot of people around here loath liberals more than they identify with conservatives. Libertarian Allen Buckley is the reason this thing went to run-off in the first place. Remove him from the race, and the margins slightly increase for Chambliss.

Anyone who thought Martin would win this run-off is unfamiliar with Georgia politics. A lot of people around here loath liberals more than they identify with conservatives. Libertarian Allen Buckley is the reason this thing went to run-off in the first place. Remove him from the race, and the margins slightly increase for Chambliss.
BTW, you don't even have to leave the city of Atlanta to find people who approve of Palin. Just drive up 400 a couple of miles.

As far as contemporary Georgia, you really ought to read newspapers. There was an interesting article in the AJC about two days ago that discussed how voters here identify themselves. Self identified conservatives are around 35%. Self identified liberals are in the teens.
BTW, they still have regular klan meetings in Stone Mountain?

BTW, the actual stats from exit polls taken during this past election: 39% of GA voters self-identify as "conservative" while 13% self-identify as "liberal."
Regardless of the fact that there are a few Zell Miller-Democrat holdouts, there has been a huge shift in our state. Hell, Zell Miller has been on the side of the Republicans since 2004. He spoke at that year's GOP convention and attended rallies for Chambliss this year.

It's true. For example most of germany had NO IDEA the holocaust was even going on until after Hitler was killed. They weren't all supporting the Nazi movement, and most who were only did so to support thier family, etc rather then because they agreed with hitler's ideology.
