  • I agree with you. Recently I was praying about this because someone told me that women should not wear pants. I did not agree but I put it into prayer. The Lord spoke to my heart and I believe he gave me the answer. If I look in a mirror do I look sexy in any way? If the answer is yes GO AND CHANGE. Many women dress to look sexy. Your hear them say this is a sexy dress or these shoes are sexy or my hair looks sexy. We should not dress to attract attention in any way.

  • @livegorgeouslygreen Amen!!!! If we look in the mirror and question what we wear then something is wrong. I try to wear long skirts everywhere I go in public, I make sure they aren't super tight. It's all for HIM, not about me and to glorify myself and to show my body to the world.

  • "Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them: and Allah is well acquainted with all that they do. And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands.."(Qur'an 24:30-31)

  • I completely agree! I came at it from a man's perspective, as I think there are some important points to make there. I think that, as people do their research on this issue that they will discover the truth that Lovesenduringpromise is speaking about on her video. I created video response to this video that you can check out as well.

  • I enjoyed this video and am so happy I am not the only one who believes there is no difference in bikini's and underwear. I love your affirmations to continue on a Christ-like path.

  • @cassie24maier Thank you!!! I am glad someone agrees, so many people don't and they think it's okay or an exception that because they are swimming it's okay to dress half naked.

  • @Lovesenduringpromise it's kind of the same as running. i don't see how it's appropriate to run around campus in boy shorts and a sports bra. it's underwear and those people make many people very uncomfortable. yes we damage our bodies with ed, so the least we can do for God is to show modesty.

  • good word

  • So true..

  • Modesty, both of the body and heart, is so important!

  • Our Hebrew word we use in Judaism that roughly translates to 'modesty' is 'Tzniut' (pronounced tsnee-oot). It refers to physical modesty as far as how we dress, conduct between men and women, and also humility and modesty of spirit. Beautiful.

  • Also, I thought it was great that you alluded that your family's opinion doesn't really matter. Jesus said (Matt 10:34-36 NIV) "Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn a man against his father, a daughter against his mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. A man's enemies will be the member's of his own household."

We are meant to be set apart as believers...be washed away from the others.

  • @TheAppieShow Amen! To come out of the world is to come out of the normal ways of thinking like letting people influence you. Each will stand on his/her own on judgment day...so I cannot please others...for I am a pleaser of Yahweh.Yahweh bless :-)

  • Hi Sabrina, great video topic. As you know, I am quite opinionated on this one myself as well : D The more we dig deep in God's Word and learn the further the instructions we obtain as His people and servants. The road is long and we are all at different places and paths. The Holy Spirit comes to convict those who need it. People can influence but the Holy Spirit is the one who truly convicts and it's up to us to take action and repent (true repentance). It's great you are FOLLOWING Jesus!

  • @MyOwnStickFigure (I got cut off) - continued... following Jesus and living for the Lord. You are a true woman of God. I fully support modesty to it's full potential. Men must be modest as well. I have been convicted in many ways last year that caused me to make some changes. Lust and sin are not things that we can just stop. However, like you point out, they can be worked around in order to do what we can on our parts to not give into it or encourage it - to not make another fall. I love you.

  • @MyOwnStickFigure OH yes, men are in this area too! ALL humans :-) Yes, there will ALWAYS be sin, but we as Christians must try to get FAR away from sin as possible and that is even dressing modestly so we do not cause anyone to stumble

  • @MyOwnStickFigure I agree, Johnny, we are all at different points...as I was NOT firm on this in the past like I am now. We continually grow and learn! Yeshua sets others in front of us to help convict us and He gives us His spirit so we CAN understand the wisdom from Yahweh.

  • I agree with this! Even if I wear a dress a wear very very thick tights and usually a skirt or dress is never ever too short. l try the best I can. I really love long dresses lately. I really love this post. I can relate to the too much of God thing. My other part of my family really judge me for going to Church thats not good you know?

  • @LisiGreenEyes Thanks, you just can't please everyone and you have to do it for God not family.

  • @Lovesenduringpromise I agree! ?You just got to keep trying to do whats right.

  • No arguments over the wonderful Biblical message, at all. But I have a personal question. What makes you decide to wear your wedding ring of diamonds and gold, still? Typing this, I know it comes across as crass, but it is purely inquisitive.

  • @TheAppieShow My wedding ring is a sign that I am married to my husband, it does not show off myself or what I have....

  • @Lovesenduringpromise Use of "Wedding bands" was never mentioned in the Bible. Aside from that, the wedding band isn't the "exception" to your beliefs. The question, itself, was not to question the reason for the ring, it was a question more about the integrity of it. Original 1st and 2nd century betrothel rings were meant to be of iron...with no jewels. Later, gold became acceptable. Now, I do wear a simple gold wedding band. My heart has been changed over my 7 years of marriage over it.

  • @TheAppieShow I really am just curious about it...and am not even debating you. Gah...I can't wait for type to express emotion. I am interested in the interpretation of customs and traditions by believers...and how it effects your life. We don't need to worry about the truths we do not yet, know, but should always be searching. Once a new truth is revealed to us, it can be life-changing. And, even with a change of heart, old ways are hard to change.

  • @TheAppieShow Thanks for bringing this up, good points. I never thought of my wedding band this way, I wear it because my husband gave it to me but back then our modest views didn't match up to what they are now. Did you orginally have jewels in your band??

  • @Lovesenduringpromise Yes, I did used to have a diamond wedding band. But, at some point, I opted for a more modest ring. I appreciate the contractual symbol of the wedding band. Outwardly, it does still show that I am married. But, I have simplified my life so much in the past couple of years. Not having a jeweled wedding band is incredibly freeing. I feel more honest. I am not going to lie-on occasion, I do wear jewelry...but day to day, I wear the symbol very humbly.

  • @TheAppieShow Yahweh has shown you an amazing revelation, and I DO think He just used you to show me this. I really never thought about my wedding ring in this way, bless you sister in Yeshua!

  • Yes, Sabrina,,,all so true. I have to believe that a woman knows in her heart if she is trying to be provocative.

Men only respect a woman who respects herself an is respectful toward others.

I like it when you take topics as a Scripture subject matter for your video's.

May continued blessings in Jesus be yours,

    Tom

  • @tommax26 Yeshua bless you Tom!

  • who is yalway and yeahshua?

i agree, it's important to cover up and have some self respect.

  • @ReillyAJ Yahweh=God

    Yeshua=Yahweh's salvation....Jesus Christ.

  • Great video!! Thanks for making this.

  • @JenNTim509 Thanks. Yahweh bless
