I really don't believe the song is ABOUT cocaine at all. It's questionable whether that's actually a reference to it. From my perspective, the song is about the media's powerful influence on society and how we let it brainwash us/give us a false sense of security. That's just my opinion though. It quite obviously makes a reference to George Orwell's 1984, that's not a questionable reference.

it was a song that was left in the same studio that incubus was recording make yourself in, but it was unfinished- so, they took the song and added to it- jose and mikey rap in it, after the first verses it's jose, then probably alex, then mikey, and brandon just sings towards the end.
