Beautiful song arrangement and interpretation..also great video, a lot of emotion there. A little correction on some of the lyrics that change the meaning of the song: Where it says: My Ionel, The first little swing, Followed a star And never came back It should be (In english): My Ionel, *Soldier in the first line, *Went to the army (to war) And never came back In Romanian: Ionel al meu, Legănel dintâi *La oaste a pornit, Și n-a mai venit, și n-a mai venit Thought this would help:)

@Tehniqq Thank you! but I think that in this version, which we have, the text could be changed by the romanian singer, becouse It seems to me that this text what I'm singing here (I don't know how well, but as far as I allow my language skills), is exactly copy of that version. And I like this understatement... what happened to him? I think that he died, because it's more dramatic;) Anyway thanks for your help! :)

@maqam1 You might be right, the difference between "La oastea-a pornit" (He went to the army) and "La o stea a pornit" (He went to a star) is very subtle in pronunciation. But apart from that, because Ionel is a soldier, it makes sense that he went to the army, and not to a star.

Songs like this, from the perspective of a mother about her song who died in the war are always terribly emotional. Also, your singing and language skills are perfect, nothing sounds weird or "un-romanian".
