Thanks for this rare footage. I felt a bit awkward and sad seeing Tim intro it after the brothers' split. But what a fitting song to end this iconic band.
I've got the original tapes and arecords, and now the cd's!!! Split Enz still lives!!!
The intriguing thing with this track was that it was a completely DIFFERENT Split Enz lineup (no original members) to the one that recorded their first single, "For You" in 1973...
@antzw there was no waste of life where it comes to Paul because he gave it all during his life, music, television, etc. no one can call his death a waste of life. he was depressed and did something that everyone wishes he hadn't, but unless you are in his shoes you cannot call his life a waste. he gave so much during his life, that it could never in my mind be called wasteful. he was an awesome musician, and a very funny and good man. there is no waste imo because he gave me JOY!
Which episode of Countdown was this lifted from, it doesn't appear to be one that rage have repeated & it's not time coded?!

The two versions of this song are very revealing, One marks an end of an era the other a new start.

A real shame bands like Split Enz and Squueze never had huge hits in the US. 2 really great bands.

Wow, it's rare to see Tim and his send off and the late Paul Hester, too, in the intro.
