My dad is a cokehead, he comes from a shitty childhood and he's messed up. I don't talk to him, my sister doesn't talk to him... He's a nice guy, and he's honestly trying to balance his addiction and the people that matter, but he's still got so many problems. He doesn't care about how he looks, he used to be very violent, and he procrastinates about everything. The worst part is he gave my brother he attempted to raise all his negative qualities. 2 lives ruined due to drugs.

The man is clearly not well and although he's probably done some bad things in his life, he doesn't actually seem like a bad guy. Stating your own opinion is fine, but could you see how replying to someone who also has their own opinion would start an argument? I have sympathy for the guy, but you can't just blame it on the drugs and say he isn't responsible.
He was probably miserable and resorted to drugs to relieve his stress and it's a terribly sad thing to see.
But by blaming it on drugs we get into the issues of it being illegal and criminal and people who are suffering from illness similar to alcoholics are then regarded as criminals and put in jail for over a decade.
I've seen people go to rehab and get better.

Who knows how he grew up, what he's been through, how he was before he got on drugs. You should never judge a book by its cover because you just might miss out on an amazing story.
