  • nice!

  • at 2:12, he goes into a relatively new tune of his called "Flat Top"

  • This song is called "Flattop".

I'm enrolled in the 2011 Leo Kottke Summer Workshop that the Peck School of the Arts hosts every summer and this song is one of the three that we're studying. Thanks for the video! =)

  • I want to say it's a Los Lobas song I think. Sorry can't spell =).

  • I believe Leo's calling this "To My Chagrin". At least that was the "working title" when he played it in Lebanon, NH last year.

  • The first tune is not "four cents". Still don't know what the name is but he played for cents earlier in his set and announced it. The first tune was played as his encore on 1/27 @the Coach House in So Cal.

  • You made IT!, You played IT!

    FLAT TOP!

    Bravo

    AGAIN

  • Excellent! Thanks for posting- anew one, he's played it twice this year at concerts I've been to.

  • The one thing that I notice about Leo Kottke's playing technique is that his RH m and a fingers are planted at the same time on adjacent strings. They seem glued together for many, many of his tunes.

  • @CFLanger I agree Chris! The first three (thumb, index, middle) especially! I'd really like to compare notes with ya' one day!

  • Hahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! The bass riff at 2:54! Beautiful.

  • @Methos06wd; Exactly!
