Making it though a Sapper leaders course to wear a tab is just like saying to active soldier that, being in the army Reserve( weekend warrior ) is the same shit! how would u feel if i do your job just for a month and i get all the recognition for what u have been working for in u'r whole career, 21/12 B are the true sapper's,we live it 24/7 and we die for it. We lead/clear the way!!!!!!. i'm in no way saying that we are the best,just to make that clear.

Yes females can go to Sapper school. However if u see a girl there don't discredit them or the school. Trust me she worked just as hard if not harder than the male soldiers to get there. Sappers lead the way!
u do not HAVE to b a 21B to become a sapper. as long as u r n the 21 engineers u can become a sapper. its acceptance like airborne school. the 21Bs have a higher chance of acceptance but not only 21Bs can attend. just to let chall know

Sapper Leader Course should only be compared to the Infantry Leaders Course. Upon successful completion of the Sapper course graduates are awarded the Sapper Tab. Unfortunately the Sapper tab is much like the Combat Action Badge, developed to squelch whining in the ranks of those who do not have an 11 series or 18 series MOS.
Retarded. We are trained do everything an 11B can do. An 11B *is not* trained to do everything a 12B can do. Y'all just do what you do because it's all you're trained for. We can be tasked out to do nearly anything because we're capable of doing it all. 40% of the missions in the Sapper Leader Course *ARE* infantry missions because we're a multipurpose MOS.
The 15 days of Phase II of Sapper Leaders Course does cover some infantry tasks but is far from qualifying a Sapper to do the job of an Infantryman or an actual Infantry mission. The Sappers have their Engineering missions and the Rangers have their Infantry missions. Is it really that hard to understand? If the jobs were the same, would be a reason to have separate MOS’es?

engineers may be trained to an extent to perform some infantry tasks, but they are in no way, shape, or form as good as the infantry at what they do.

Just to let you know, The Sapper Leaders Course allows all soldiers regardless of gender or MOS, and yes, 21B's do have priority.
