Theory: if the energy bolt is struck back at him once you only get to strike him once, try to get him to deflect multiple times, you can strike him the amount of times the energy ball was deflected by him.

This is just a theory I came up with from watching this fight, and even I had my own experiences. Every boss battle has a major key.

You totally can! Use your hookshot. Here is what you do:

1. Stand on one of the triangles in the corners of the platform. Take note of the pattern his lightning makes when it hits the floor.

2. Move in toward the center of the platform making sure to avoid the path of the lightning.

3. Aim your hookshot up toward the center of the platform. When he jumps out across the platform nail him. It takes some practice and you have to be patient but it will work. I just did it. :)

An easier way to kill him after you deflected the ball thing, is keep locked on, and use a jump attack straight forward, it hits like 2 times harder

This boss is my favourite throughout the game. This boss suits for the temple as it goes through the portraits during the battle as you would have to guess which one he will be coming out.

You know, you don't have to wait for him to jump out of the painting. You can actually shoot and damage him while he's still caught in the purplish vortex (not before though). It's much easier that way, as he isn't moving. ;)

Yeah Wind Waker does not even come close to comparing to OOT/MM, at least in terms of art style. The cel-shade thing was an interesting attempt, but I'm glad they've pushed that away to the handhelds, and have returned to more realistic designs with TP. Although I don't think any Zelda game in general since OOT, has had a Temple as original and creepy as the Forest Temple. Really good song, sadly the Forest Temple in TP has generic WW-esque music.

meh I have it for n64 and this guy was a very huge problem for me the first time I fought him. Then I got to the water temple and boy WAS I SURPRISED! I must've went in the same circle 50 times before figuring out where the boss key was!

hi, i started playing this game and i was wondering how you get to the forest temple

well if u are still a kid u have 3 spiritual stones to find. if u just became adult link then u have to go to kakariko villige and go to the graveyard. as soon As u enter the graveyard go to the left and pull on the first tombstone. (it has green flowers next to it) jump inside and u will have to race dampe the gravekeeper.

wen u beat him u get the hookshot then u go back to the lost woods and the sacred forest meadow. but take each corner carefully their are guards that u can eliminate by hitting them with the hookshot. as soon as u get by the last guard sheik will appear and teach u a song. at the end of the conversation look above u and u will c some old stairs and a branch. use the hookshot on the branch and boom u are in the forest temple.
