  • @yewolloset Yes, I lived in Seattle since I was 10. Thank you for your appreciation of the video.

  • proud of you bro

  • great book bro!

  • @ImFromSeattle Thanks for having me. I had no idea how fun working with the Community College level would be.

  • great book and this vid is helpful! thx mr Mengesha, for creating this much needed dialogue on our campus's!!

  • @altast02 Thank you for finding value in it :)

  • This book is pretty much spot on,

candid and upfront without being harsh or stereotypical.

the level of light humor also helps add a much needed amount of perspective to the whole thing thus bringing it all together. definitely a must read.

  • Watching this video makes me oh so proud :) ! The work you are doing is quite remarkable! I certainly intend on sharing this book with a few freshmans!

  • @gualzager Thank you my friend! Let me know if you need anything from me.

  • Lull's great! The Only Black student is such an amazing book! although this book comes from a black male voice, the stories are relatable for anybody.

  • @LVJ19 you are too kind. Thank you!

  • As a first generation immigrant i didnt have the benefit of a parent telling me what to expect in college. Lull gives kind of the older brother advice that you NEED but rarely get.

  • I wish I had a book like this years ago, would have gotten that chip off my should a hell of a lot sooner.

  • As a student, this was definitely one of the more enlightening experiences. To find that there are people who you can connect with is very cool. Thanks for everything Lull

  • I am a polynesian student at UW and I wish I had the only poly student my freshman year. Truth be told though, many of the struggles of navigation are all similar for minority students, main difference for us being that since our culture is still relatively new to other minorities, we seem to be about 50yrs behind everyone else. More important then students reading this book, faculty and staff need to make sure they give it a look.

  • @Konulaka sounds like you should be writing "The Only Polynesian student" for the students from Hawaii coming to the Mainland.

  • Book is very introspective! T.O.B.S. takes through the life a student on the outside, inside a PWI and prepares you for all sorts of obstacles and hurdles you may encounter in your time at a PWI. I wish i would have been able to read something along these lines when i started college. Good for all walks of people and encourages you to open your mind and see through the lenses of all different types of peoples.

  • Excellent book - As a High School counselor, I'm recommending it to all of my graduating students.

  • Good job in showing how to navigate threw school threw your experiences.

  • It's great that your book is helping facilitate cross-cultural discussions with students and faculty, and I love that you're so accessible and willing to these workshops. You're helping students with a big life transition through your work! Nice job, Lull.

  • oo great stuff! whens the next book in the series coming out?!

  • @lilbrothadub working on a few more projects as we speak! I will keep you posted for sure.

  • Great book Lull

  • I appreciate what you're doing! good stuff...

  • Great Workshop last week Lull! My students are still having class discussion around your book!

  • @DoloApe06 I had a great time! Thanks again for the opportunity to work with them.
