  • Noise?! These guys have played in bands like Judas Priest,Mars Volta, and Mr.BIG. They give lessons!

  • WOW! noise! maybe they can take lessons from someone who can plaY!

  • Racer X were the greatest band, REUNION AND NEW ALBUM PLEASE!

  • ..I don't know what to say....I'm f'n flooooooooored...retatered..

  • These guys make playing guitar look so effortless...inspiring and depressing at the same time, know what I mean...

  • great vocalist

  • Simplesmente foda!!!!!!

  • The quality is actually quite good I mean prob on some average camera as a bootleg. The best bit is that everything sounds tight as fuck, i mean there are no mistakes, like the record. That solo is sickeningly tight for 2 guitarists. Im not a fan of Martins voice but even for what it is its good.

Its also how half these guys cut their teeth in the early days i mean there is members of Priest, Mr Big and Mars volta here ! Future legends.

  • @chuckrocks69 i bought Racer X's street lethal album, biggest mistake ever, dont get me wrong Paul and the others kick ass but GOD ALMIGHTY the singing was absolutely horrendous, and the dude does not know how to sing a good vocal melody at all. Cacophony suffered the same fate too.

  • @UFCfanboy7898 Dude jeff is a great singer his voice matches the music perfectly

  • @AbyssOfShred have you listened to the album?

  • @UFCfanboy7898 indeed i have. ive got it on vinyl and CD

  • what a fucking killer band,

  • Racer x una banda de heavy metal puro...

Racer x. A great band, pure heavy metal ...

  • whoa... omg!!

    paul + bruce = unbeatable

  • I always knew Yngwie influenced Paul but this proves it beyond a doubt. I'm glad Paul finally forged his own identity but I really liike this part of his career.

  • I was at that show. Place called the Country Club in Reseda. Too many long island ice teas that night.

  • @SynapticChaos I was there too man, actually all the nights they played there!! Great to see old fans here honoring the best show the earth has known! ;-)

  • These guys were on fire! great stuff

  • jeff martin such a pillow biter

  • I always hated the singer. His voice sucked.

  • @hummarstra not sucked, just different. very cali vibe....

  • anyone know what model ibanez's those are?

  • @shredder1500 I was a huge Paul Gilbert fan when this album was new, I had pics of these guys with these guitars on a poster on my wall. I do not think these were ever offered to the public by ibanez.

  • STRYPER song LOUD N CLEAR much better!

  • Bruce Bouillet

  • this singer rocks !!!!

  • 0:30 is the most epic singer entrance I ever layed my eyes upon... and I nearly saw anything in shred ^^

  • @imperial1983 Omg, hahaha.

  • @imperial1983 ROLF !!!

Christ ! What he's doing at 0:55 ? He took that from Elvis ? It look like i really need to piss

  • @imperial1983 James Brown feet!

  • wtf is that at 0:54

  • Comment removed

  • Ahahah gotta love Paul :D

    Pink Guitar won xD

Ass shake fail at 0:54 :D

  • Full body shake victory at 0:54.

Songs about vibrations. And these guys have A LOT of those.

  • your gay that singer is aweseome!!! hes got a fucking killer voice. you can't see true talent

  • Jeff Martin is not only a great drummer having drummed for Badlands and several tours lately but he was and is a fantastic lead singer.

  • man this is some awesome footage! I remember seeing one of these shows at the de-anza theather in riverside ca and it blew me away, Incredible,no one was playing like these guys at that time. I went with my brother I was seventeen ,now I'm 39 but what an amazing guitar combination.I don't no where you got this footage but its killer!

  • No one plays like Paul Gilbert today, either. Best there is and was.

  • He has anything guitar player could ever dream of,super speed, super articulation, awesome phrasing and maybe Asian wife..

  • I totally agree. When I first heard him in 1986 I was fucking totally blown away.I have some old video tape of him playing with Christian Rocker Darrell Mansfeld back in 1985 and though he looks like a nerd he just tears it up big time on the guitar.I used to go see Racer X almost every week here in L.A when they were together. I was so bummed when they broke up. Mr.Big fucking sucked BigTime.

  • Is there any way you could get that video posted up here? I'm sure you could find a service that takes vhs and converts to dvd

  • @josiahgust Yeah I will definitely do that. It's something every fan should see. He kicked such ass and it was like 1985. My friend's dad was there that night and he couldnt stop talking about this kid named paul gilbert.I finally got to see him with racer x about a year later and ive been a fan ever since. I'll look into getting it transfered soon.

  • Awesome, thanks

  • i disagree with the comment about dave mustaine. mustaine makes malmsteen look like an 8-year old kid in the rhythm guitar department. have you heard the rhythm to yngwie's "i am a viking"? it is akin to something an 8-year old kid would conjure up with after listening to dio's "holy diver" album nonstop for two weeks. idiotic rhythm guitar.

in regard to jeff martin- his voice is above average for your typical 80s los angeles galm-rock/metal vocalist vocalist.

  • way above. I had jeff martin over at my house...I was too young to know who he was....damn it...

  • reminds me of jag panzer a bit

  • Amazing Performance

  • Why does everybody say Jeff Martin can't sing? Loud & Clear is a super difficult song to sing. I think he's done a great song. Also Gilbert screams hard but in tone!

  • Molocules of air... Turn to two compression waves.

  • The signer is a Brad Delp wanna-be...lol.

  • Comment removed

  • Paul's tone is fucking awesome

  • always is bro : )

  • Oh shit look at Paul!

  • Jesus, Jeff is a fruit in this vid haha!

  • yea not a vegtable!!

  • Who's the drummer? Is that Marco?

  • scott travis .

his judas priests drummer since the painkiller album

  • Oh haha thanks.

  • 0:30-0:35 EPIC!

  • I wonder if the other guys in Mars Volta ever pull these videos and give shit to Alderete ??

  • how could they give shit to anyone involved in the awesomeness that is Racer X?

  • Have you ever considered that Mars Volta sucks balls?

  • Ooops. I think I failed to get my point across properly, which was that A) the fashion style 20 years ago , day-glo spandex and teased out poofball hair, may look funny by 2009 standards, and B) especially by artsy-fartsy types like Omar and Cedric.

In no way did i mean to rip on John or the band. I've been a fan all the way (I have Street Lethal & 2nd Heat on VINYL) . For what it's worth, I'm 39 and yeah.. I dressed like that too back in the day when I played out . ;P

  • Fashion is irrelevant...I was ripping on the Mars Volta for sucking so hard.

  • yeah, usally its fine, but honesly doesnt sound good on this one at all....but what the hell do you want ssiicckk out of this world guitar aanndd vocals?......that might be asking for alot =P hahaha

  • Racer x was the shit back in the 80s the live album and street lethal were both very well produced loved their version of moonage daydream.

  • very, very malmsteen infuenced, i like it!

  • theyre more priest influence, but paul gilbert is a influenced by malmsteen cause of the neoclassical style

  • yea plus when you look into his playing especially nowadays paul's influenced by almost everything he hears he loves so much music and idolizes so many guitarists

  • Fucking awesome...Puts Mr Big to Shame.

  • siick

  • were do you get these videos

  • Street Lethal FUCK YEAH Love This Album

  • Love this album!

  • Racer X !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what up bro',yeah racer x shreds....

  • i used to have the live extreme album i think the vocals were nothing to write home about but that fucking band rocked!!!!

  • I loved that band but damn, those background vocals were terrible! Pretty sloppy compared to the live version they released on "Live Extreme Volume"

  • Well when you've got Paul Gilbert doing most of the back up... lol

  • race e do caranba car porra!!!!!

  • Malmsteen influencia até hj em dia, imagine na epoca desse show!!! ahuahuh

  • Hey! Jeff is part of this hole Hard Rock pink thing man! its so cool!

  • Man...it dosnt show bruce enough in alot of videos....Bruce kicks ass...pluss i want his neon green Ibanez....

  • Correct! This singer is terrible compared to what was going on in the rest of the "lead singer" stuff at the time. And yes, to another responder, much of this guitar playing is VERY Yngwie influenced... those were the times. I had every Racer X album especially their live one and the musicianship still holds up!!! the band minus the singer was just freeking incredible!!!

  • gilbert were totally influenced by Yngwie...

  • nah. influences back then were van halen sir. do the research if you dont believe it. his playing truely shows it, no flash just tripplets and articulate alt picking with tapping.

doesnt seem like a yingwie influence at all. besides the fact yingwie was still growing or at the same level at this day in age and nowhere near his fanbase he is now.

1985 was a fuckload ago. gilbert was like 22. if anything other influences were hydn, mozart, JS bach, bach, and beethoven

  • as much as evh was an influence, so was malmsteen.

have you not hard paul's neoclassical stuff?

  • Y.R.O? Maybe frenzy? A lot of his solo's had neoclassical elements, but he did listen to and transcribe Mozart and Bach before Yngwie.

  • haha trust me I KNOW my paul gilbert and he was influenced by malmsteen maybe more than anything else, Van Halen of course may have been one and of course he had seen him i mean in the 80's who hadnt but paul was much more influenced by malmsteen's playing or even bands like preist or something to that affect its not like his tape collection was full of mozart recordings and van halen

  • well i mean yeah he was affected guitar wise by yngwie, but musically he was more influenced by the beatles in my opinion.....and i think maby he would even tell you that

  • oh yea of course, but i think that relates more to his recent playing, just because racer x sure isnt "the beatles" or even "judas preist" sounding its 80's shred which was strongly influenced both musically and sonically by early guys but mostly yngwie. but it is apparent that he is influenced by many many things and has taken a much more versatile approach to his playing which has made him ten times better

  • No one came out of the 80's unscathed by the phenomenon of Malmsteen. The guy is an asshole but man he can play...kinda like Dave Mustaine I guess....

  • yea you're so right, mustaine is a dick too but his playing style is unlike anyone else's and as arrogant as malmsteen is, you still gotta give him respect for his technique and inovation

  • yeah mustaine has an uptight band but mustaine aint no malmsteen but he can do and say what ever he wants to,only thing is yngwie lost his great playing, man his last cd i mediocre soulles shredding and i heard a part of megadeth its new stuff man dave improved on his soloing.

  • Dave is a good songwriter player, but his playing isnt nearly as good or as creative as Malmsteen's

  • Bruce Bouillet is awesome!

  • The main riff sounds kinda like the one to Body Talk by Ratt.

  • yea I deffinantley here that, lol.

  • I HEAR that.

  • Racer x is god PERIOD

  • The last 8 seconds were the best. :-P

  • No offence to any RACER X fans didn't float my boat

  • probably because you're not used to hearing real musicians playing. It's not your fault really. There is a big MTV/American Idol generation that missed out on the good stuff. You can call Racer X MUSICIANS. Meaning, they can really play their instruments.

  • that is not really the problem...

  • oh. Yeah, I see what you mean. I'm not necessarily into every band that many other people are into either. We all have our own unique tastes. We should, anyway.

  • Yepp

But most of all, Racer X didnt really make any awesome songs, they have a few very good ones (this one in particular!) but mostly rubbish, actually.

All members of this band seems to be on the top of skills, but the singer really don't fits in with his mid-range vocals. But uhm... His stage moves are quite awesome haha.

  • Dude is entitled to his opinion. I just really don't see why he would post about not liking the music in a place where fans of the band will obviously see it, unless he just wants to start trouble.

  • too true. But I've noticed that if there is any place to start trouble, YouTube is certainly it! The comments idea is really kind of a drag in some ways. Interrupts the enjoyment a bit.

  • i hear this song loud and clear and it is awesome!!

  • Out Freakin' Standing! Paul Gilbert is Killer! The thing is, IS Racer X wrote GREAT SONGS, regardless of the arrangements and textures. One of my all-time favorite kick-ass groups! I didn't care much for Mr Big for what I think are obvious reasons.

  • "I didn't care much for Mr Big for what I think are obvious reasons."

Because the combo of Billy Sheehan and Paul was too much for your puny human brain to handle?

    I kid.

  • god this group is so good... i could relate them to megadeth, iron maiden, dream theater and old metallica/trivium

  • RACER X RULEZ!!

  • looks funny

but one of the most underrated bands

    of all time

they was to good for this universe

  • I concur so hard I'm crying

  • yes now thats what im talking about, come home from a shitty day of school and throw on some RACERX!!!! all good....

  • One of my favorite Racer X songs.

  • jeff martin did a good job drumming on the 2nd Badlands album...enjoy & don't hate...

  • jeff martin's hip shakin is so freak but funny :)

  • Grandi

    !!!

  • Racer x is amazing!

  • Racer X rulez!!!

The best heavy metal band ever!!

  • the singer looks and sings like he should be making gay porn

  • how do you know? watch alot of gay porn? fag ha

  • why do you imagine guys with dicks in there mouths haha you are a fag lol lol for sure you confirmed it. Bro get that sick shit outta yer head you make me sick its all you think about! cock gobblin lol

  • wow, youre so cool it makes me want to post

\m/- 666 -\m/ over and over again to try to be cool too. look at the vid.......nice white gloves bitch. i was in vegas a few weeks ago and seen the hottest chick ever and pulled over to pick her up, it turned out to be jeff martin.

  • haha weirdo

  • this made me lol

  • hey, dont blame him for looking like a retart, woman probably ate that outfit up and were all over him, so blame them hahahahaha, oh ya and the 80s

  • No question that RacerX is was way faster than DragonFart is now

  • yeah that's so true!

  • Singer is pretty good, he's probly just sitting at home, he would be a good singer for my band. Does anybody have his number?

  • he ain't singing at home. He just finished a solo album.

  • whoa is that phylis dillar on vocals??

  • whoh at 20 seconds he looks like yngwie malmsteen!!

  • The singer Jeff Martin was a better drummer than singer. He replaced Eric Singer after the first Badlands album. Pretty kick-ass. Gilbert and Bouillet shred.

  • incredible! :o

  • I like Becker and Friedman but Gilbert just smokes em both

  • thumbs up to PG, thumbs down to the singers little bellydancing/vibrating dance moves.

  • Unchained82, I totally agree. By the way, Bruce is waaaay underrated as a guitarist and songwriter. Just check out The Scream etc, killer songs...

  • I still think Bruce & Paul (vintage Racer X circa second heat) would smoke cacophony instrumentally & musically.

    Look at these guys, man!

  • I wouldn't say instrumentally & musically since Jason and Marty had way much different style than Bruce and Paul. Beside what comes to solo records Jason and Marty has pretty damn awesome records. Racer-x has more elements I like in metal music, it's like rocking speed metal. Cacophony was strange mix of speed and thrash. Perhaps too much influenced with neo-classical stuff too. Although Racer-x had way more better vocals and bass.
