Hi, I am pre-surgery also. I have to have 6 dietician visits before my insurance will cover the surgery. I was always feeling hungry, then snacking. My dietician put me on a a strict routine- I must eat breakfast and lunch. That helped but what really helps is if I try to keep my carbs lower. If I at a whole box of mac and cheese, and I could, my body wants to eat more! When I started snacking on plain ol' cheese, many of the hunger pangs have gone away.
Hey just found your vlogs and thought I'd say hi. I'm also pre op RNY and can relate to what you're saying. I've been trying to do a lot of 'emotional' prep and found a book called 'Eating in the light of the moon' by Anita Johnston. The first half is full of fluffy repetitive stuff and I was near to giving up but the second half is really useful and has really made me think about why I eat and issues around feeling full/hunger. Anyway hope you're doing ok. Nikki
I'm on day 3 or my 2 week preop diet (Gastric Bypass on March 12th)... And I could easily eat a box of mac and cheese.... And being on this very strict preop diet, I'm realizing alot of mental stuff about myself... And it's upsetting. I'm feeling the same way. Right now, I feel like I'm gonna die LOL I'm STARVING... But you have to beat it... You have to overcome it. Don't let the food win. :) I know you will do great! :)
I am sending STRENGTH your way to help you with the pre-op diet! I am counting down the days until I begin mine. It seems like such a scary thing... life WITHOUT food??! WTF. But I we are strong women! We can do it!
