you could do it on any grip, but if you want some more grip anyway (which is always a good thing) get yourself some 24-grit GATOR GRIP

@dodexodus You can do small speed checks with just kicking out the back wheels, and maybe 4 wheel standups, but it's very difficult and tiring. Better to do it on a hill.

@someone19123 with those wheels you can do it at very low speeds which is where its most comfortable to learn (duh). Super loose trucks will definately help. Also, a small tip when learning is to throw way more weight into the slide than you think necessary, and carve hard into it. Hope that helps.

You didn't explain what you do with your upper body.. It seems illogical to twist your torso backwards while the board twists forward perpendicular to the road, but you seem to make it work. Is this a stylistic choice or something you're supposed to do every time?
