  • funniest comedy movie ever

  • Hey my name is Joanne and my favorite color is fluorescent beige

  • monique looks scary

  • this looks soo sad. Maybe if I see the whole movie, I'll see the '' hope" at the end, because, I'm sorry, I don't really see the hope. Why is it that films that are predominately african american seem to have such a negative and depressing theme to it? Now I'm not talking down on the film or anything, I just wish african american directors or etc would realize that not ALL african american people are struggling in society.

  • Joanne is the funniest character in this film. Her scenes never cease to crack me up.

  • you can tell in 0:10 and 0:18 she regreted it in the end...she looked like she was like sorry baby,i'm deranged.

  • Poor Mo'Nique, she seems more disturbed by Mary than anyone. I can't imagine playing such a horrible person....it's amazing that she did so well with the role. Brava!

  • Class A - Actress. There's Alot Of Of Other A List Women In The Arts.. Who Dont Have The Talent Or The Balls To Play Somebody As Real. And Honest As This Character.. Another Actress Would Have Wanted To Gussy It Up!! But Monique Kept It Real.. And Played A Fantastic Modern Day Monster. With Warts And All. Monique Is One Brave Lady.. X

  • mariah carrey looks fat...

  • @TeniseDayrider ...oh for God sake...Is that really necessary?

  • Did anyone else think that paula patton's best scene was when she says "I love you" to precious when she was crying?

  • It was good but very depressing! I'm American and I WANT MY HAPPY ENDING LOL!!

  • I don't know why people are making this movie seem inspirational, dude. She ends up dying of HIV and it's just too sad. I couldn't even finish the book at first because it was too depressing. Not saying it's not an incredible story with great acting, but it's just a tragic story that didn't have any hope to it.

  • this has to be the worst remake of Planet of the Apes ever made

  • @miffed123 ya next to your mom's honeymoon video

  • Does someone know the song name? its good. :-)

  • gosh i dont know how people can be offended by this film that shows REAL PEOPLE,STORYS,PROBLEMS ... not no fictional crap.

  • miss rain reminds me abit of alicia keys

  • it was a good movie THE BOOK PUSH WAS THE BOOM!!!!!!! GO SAPPHIRE!!!!! FOR CREATEING SUCH A ASOME AND HOPEFULL BOOOK!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I uploaded all the parts to Precious. Click on my channel to watch them. =)

    (No Links, or Downloads)

  • 1:53 nicki minaj

  • I still die laughing at "fluorescent beige". haha. And Paula Patton has the most beautiful speaking voice, which matches her overall beauty I suppose.

  • gabby seems nice

  • @paddyswok si

  • For those who feel offended (I don't know why) just because the star is black and because of the story. Watch this film "Before Women Had Wings" and see that stories like this have nothing to do with the color of the skin. Just enjoy and be aware of what is happening in the world. Peace!

  • ...this movie is SO powerful....it's gonna break so many chains!

  • JUSTICE PUBLISHING SUPPORTS THIS 100%

  • looks like a Spike Lee true stroy movie

  • I LIKE PATTON SHE IS BEAUTIFULL

  • My heart broke into a 1000 pieces watching this movie. The abuse that children suffer and never even having a chance from the womb just kills me. Also that some people of color feel unpretty because they are too "dark" breaks my heart. God made us all with different hues, some very light ,some very dark. We should embrace our differences and be proud and do the best with what God gave us. Black is beautiful! white is beautiful! yellow is beautiful. Color is just beautiful! (I'm ivory:)

  • @resqfireman Good Lord, Gabby has lighter skin complexion than the 'real' Precious described in the book 'Push'! Good Lord, Gabby is much SMALLER than the 'real' Precious described in the book 'Push'! The 'real' Precious is described as at least 6'4" tall, at least 375 pounds, and has skin matching new black clothes sold in department stores!

  • "color purple" smh

  • Gabourey had a fine acting!!!

  • @BakusPT i agree for her first time it was beliveable not like chessy acting like beyonce in cadilac recored chessy act not for beyonce BUT....FOR GABBY!!!! GO HEAD GABBY!!!

  • i cried so hard during the scene where precious starts cryin about how nobody loves her and says that she's dying of HIV

  • @kickyabutt yes, and that is also the moment when for the viewer everything fals into perspective, and our own problems seems so trivial, while watching a girl that had no chance from the moment she was born, born to suffer, and trough her suffering she trenscends her parents and grandparents.

  • @GeenBAlopTeeVee thats exactly what i thought. Precious had done a good job of hiding her feelings and building up a wall around herself, and this was the first time that it was all too much and she couldnt take it. She had to release her sadness. Great Film

  • @kickyabutt GODDAMN thanks for giving away the ending!! i was gonna finish watching it today..

  • @miamiwax thats not the ending

  • Comment removed

  • WOW! Thats SAD! at What You Said! GOD Have Mercy!

  • this was an incredibly hard movie to watch but i continued to watch because of the raw performance gabby gave to her character .

  • @MrRationalmind I love Gabby's personality, too. She is such a beautiful (if big) person with a lot going for her. If you think Gabby is big, the 'real' Precious described in Sapphire's novel 'Push' is much, much taller, heavier, and darker-complected (6'4"-6'7" tall, 375-400 lbs., skin matching new black clothes) than Gabby Sidibe.

  • it seems soooo funny 2 me that when African Americans play the really bad guy that kills & shoots, robs, and just plain ingnorant, they win Oscar & Grammy Awards. Oh, i see why... thats the only way that some of the White people feel they can be recognized! look at Denzel Washington in Training Day! 1st Oscar... ever come on WHITE people show us some love. leave your comments in my inbox!

  • @EATORSUCKME Well this was not an invented story, so why not showing what is going on? I don't see anything wrong with this movie.

  • Gabby should have won the oscar, love sandra but i saw this movie and got really emotional, maybe it hit too close to home, (even though i am on the opposite weight ) but why wasn't she even nominated or was she?

  • @lovemyselfforever86 she was nominated but usually new comers who are nominated don't win.

  • at did Oprah mean when sh

  • @RBCHILD4EV Not only black mothers but mothers of ALL ETHNIC GROUPS AND RACES like this do exist! Child abuse exists among all ethnic groups, socio-economic classes, races, cultures, religions, and nationalities ALL OVER THE WORLD!

  • she really deserved the oscar her acting was just great , and she's a comedian

  • Mann, that movie had me in TEARS!!!! I usually dont cry in movies, but this one got me. The one thing that really got to me was the fact that her mother was such a monster(monique) sHE DID A great JOB , AND SHE deserved that oscar!!!! Go head gabby, and monique!!!!

  • Shit mother of all races exist like this, but you won't see movie about the whites running and stealing a bucket of chicken and having gay sex with her children.Every stereotype about people was in this shitty as movie, and the white folks give awards out for this shit.

  • @mightyblack1

    Black people don't like chicken?

Seriously, why can't you see how brave it was for them to do this film? Yes, all human beings have these problems. This was a story about one. She just happened to be black. It was written by , directed and stared black people.

    Are you ashamed of that?

  • they should be ashamed of themselves

  • @mightyblack1 There is a movie, I don't remember the name, in which a white mother mistreats her two daughters. Oprah appears and she is the good one, who keeps the two white girls to take care of them, Oprah's character is called Zora or something like that. It is a very sad movie and I don't think it has to do with the color. Let's just be open minded and take this as warnings of what is happening in the society. Peace!

  • Paula Patton is amazing... Shame she married the talentless Robin Thicke. Mariah also improved her acting skills. Mo'Nique was just amazing. Best movie ever!

  • i love monique and gabby :) and the movie was good but i cried!!!!! but she DID deserve the oscar and im glad she got itt!!!!!

  • Mo'Nique will do more stereotypes roles like this and you won't see her rise about the B or D list movie roles.I glad she won but hate the rols that she had to play that reflects a stereotype weak black mother with no heart, that's not the real image of the black mother.

  • Mo'Nique really deserved that oscar

  • Really Really Really Really Wanna Watch Dis Movie

  • Congrats to Mo'Nique for her Oscar winning performance.

  • Mo'nique's last scene in this film is some of the best acting I have ever seen, in any film, of all time. Oscar? No question.

  • I AM AGREE WITH YOU, SHE WILL!!!

  • @holl86 AND SHE DID!!!!

  • @paddyswok How am i gettin aids nigga i don't do gay butt sex hahahahaha

  • Oh c'mon, everyone has the right to speak

  • iF Y0U HAVNT SEEN DiZ M0ViE...G0 SEE iT S0 ...S0 SAD...&& W0RTH WATCHiNG

  • looks like the sadest and the best movie

  • Oh my God i though that was alicia keys on the movie and its paula patton

  • i always do that i always have to double back and look hard lol. i love them both there awesome! paula is fantastic

  • Paula really is fantastic... her performance is breath taking.

In "real life" she kinda looks like Whitney, doesn't she?

  • This is bullshit, I grew up similar to this character, except I was never raped by my dad and I don't have aids or kids. I was molested by an uncle that lived with us, My mother at the time was an alcoholic and very aggressive, she would call me all kinds of names and hit me, this just made me re live all that, and there isn't hope for everyone. Right now I am unemployed so is my husband, and I am infertil, and above all thats the one thing I want.. A child. and I can't even do that.

  • Comment removed

  • Stop lying.

  • why would I lie about that? Why would anyone lie about that?

  • If life was that bad then you wouldn't be on Youtube complaining. You would be out there trying to find a new job somewhere. What does your infertility have to do with anything pertaining to this movie?

  • and excuse me for complaining, I figured maybe there was someone else that has been thru some of the same things, maybe there is other women out there that can't concieve, it's a very touchy situaion.

  • Ok, hun. Both you AND you're husband are unemployed. You honestly want to bring a child into that environment? Out of unemployment comes despair and frustration, which judging by your post, you have a lot of. Maybe now is not the right time to have a child?

  • I know that!!! I'm not an idiot. It's just that it would be nice if I could SOMEDAY! Didn't say right this minute while I'm stuck in this shitty situation. Just think about it for a minute, I don't know how old you are, or if you have any kids, but think about NEVER being able to start your own family. You and your husband if you get married will die alone. It's a pretty sad situation. GOD doesn't anyone understand me?

  • @Pam4Rob Keep strong!!!

  • i am gothic too and bored like hell if anyone is up for chat let me know

  • I need to watch this movie and the hole brazilians need to wacth it too!

  • omg This movie is amazing i cabt sto crying,THis is why i want to be an actress so i can tell emotional movie like this teach people lessons!!!!!have a voice

  • @Ashleyevon1 Hey, I think you should go learn how to read and write first. Good Luck!

  • @harry911tk Mo'Nique and 'Gabby' are both BBBW's (Big Beautiful Black Women) who certainly deserved all the awards they received. However, 'Gabby' is considerably shorter and much-lighter-complected than the 'real' Precious described in 'Push'. The 'real' Precious was at least 6'4" tall, 375-400 pounds, and her skin complexion matches or is darker than most black clothes sold in department stores. The movie 'Precious' is still excellent, though!

  • @glennrickard1958 You're kidding right? no one is as black or blacker than black clothes. Though there are some Africans that look black-blue but even they arent blacker than black clothes. A girl as black as black leather , 6'4 and 375-400 lbs is truly a beast.

  • @harry911tk No, I'm not kidding. According to the novel 'Push', the 'real' Precious is a truly HUGE girl of at least 6'4" (may be as tall as 6'7") and at least 375 pounds (170 kilos) and her skin is among the blackest complexions of any human being, being at least as black as black clothes. I've seen black people in department stores who are about as dark as their black clothes and almost as black as the blackest substances (carbon nanotubes) ever known.

  • 1:05... oooh weee mo'nique. girl put a lil concealer on! haha

  • Awesome Awesome!! The book Push... excellent! the movie - perfect -Oscar worthy!!

  • The movie and the novel 'Push' are both RIVETING! However, 'Gabby' Sidibe is considerably smaller and much-lighter-complected than the 'real' Precious described in 'Push'. The 'real' Precious is 6'4" tall, 375-400 pounds and her skin complexion matches or is darker than most black clothes sold in department stores. Anyway, congratulations to 'Gabby' for her Oscar nomination for Best Actress and to Mo'Nique for winning her Oscar for Best Supporting Actress!

  • i could of sworn alicia keys was in the movie paula patton is sexy tho

  • @wysiwyg43 :the aura is created by the 4 most powerful traits a woman can war: beeeauty, intelligence, integrity and above all: indestructible feminine empathy/love. There is this look of responsiveness in her eyes the whole movie through. OMG, i'm in love.

The same indestructible powerful but now masculine love is seen in Lenny Kravitz' eyes while he encounters Precious

  • watched this movie 30 mins ago, and im STILL crying. Mo'nique DESERVES a nomination if not an academy award!....Her performance was absolutely blood curling and some scenes just gave me chills. This movie is refreashing...definately go see it.

  • awesome movie absolutely heartwrenching can't wait till the oscar nominations are announced whatever happens mo'nique needs to win the oscar she deserves it

  • Why does the light skinned teacher, Ms. Rain, appear to have a "halo" of light behind her in this movie? I didn't she her as the messiah but I guess that's what the director saw . . .

  • I didn't notice that but I guess within the context of this movie Ms Rain was the first person to love Precious. So maybe it was just a little subconscious prodding on the director's part meant to help drive a point home.

  • This movie was just beautiful!

  • THIS MOVIE WAS AMAZZZIIINGG!

  • Who is the person who plays the guy on the motorcycle.

  • Barret Mindell

  • Monnique will be in the best supporting bit win or not she will be in there

  • She REALLY let herself go after eating that ladie's face...

  • MARIAH CAREY IS IN THIS ^^

  • racist Britain will not buy it and show it to us.

  • im sorry well in my state its not coming out till like 2 months from now i dont know why

  • i know how you feel... I couldn't wait I had to watch it online

  • amg i thought paula patton was alicia keys...talk about look a likes..lol

  • I can't wait to see it!

  • I think that watching this movie will be really hard and tough, definitely not enjoyable. but i'm going to see it anyways because it's dealing with really important issues that more people need to realize is happening.

  • I agree. I say give Monique that Oscar though, because my friend is convincing me to read the book (which she's giving me tomorrow,) but watching Monique in that trailer is making me nervous to even do that. That's what I call a powerful performance tbh.

  • Self Hate!

  • film luks NYCEEEEE

  • I know, right? I'm gonna ask my mom and my cousin if they wanna see it tomorrow. =}

  • She isn't the material body,you aren't the material body,you are a spiritual soul

  • I still can't get the movie BELOVED out my system. I can't watch this a mother molesting her own daughter. It hurts me to know that there are children that are abused to this level.

  • Her mother is not molesting her, she is abusing her, her father is molesting her, I understand you not wanting to see this movie, it is a sad story I personally would like to see though because why run away from the truth, people are actually abused like this so I feel by refusing to watch is like refusing to see that this is really going on

  • no, both parents molest her sexually.

  • Her mother was molesting her as well, Read the book Push. and then see the movie

  • oh i didn't know that abyss, from all the reviews they make it seem like only the father did but i will definitely read this book before seeing the film....

  • her mother did molest her ....

If you watch the movie she was like precious come help mommy(when she was playing with her self) and

if you read the book its more vulgar than that

  • Your very late replying to my comment l0l but if you read my other one I figured this out, the movie was not out at the time i made that comment but I saw it thanks for trying to explain anyway.........

  • @girlscott411 Yes, the novel 'Push' describes sexual situations between Percious and her mother and father that are too obscene to be in an 'R'-rated movie. Also, the 'real' Precious is much larger and darker-complected (between 6'4"-6'7" tall, 375-400 lbs. and a skin complexion matching new black clothes) than the Precious played by Gabourey Sidibe. Both the novel and the movie are excellent, though!

  • I refuse to see this movie.
