@LegoDaleks John Barrowman has had a Scottish accent ever since he could talk, he just chose to start using an American one when he was 9 because he moved to America and was afraid of being bullied if he used his Scottish one. If you watch the video of him and his sister on the Today show, you'll see how he switches between accents so effortlessly. So, just clarifying, your point was dumb, full stop.

@slitheenplanet My point wasn't dumb, I was talking about Captain Jack - the one who's supposed to be the same character as the Face of Boe. Face of Boe doesn't have an American accent. That's what I find unrealistic. Why would he over time lose his accent (when generally as people get older their accent gets stronger or MORE American) & why would he start using proper diction? The Face of Boe was a dumb idea & it was dumb to make it & Captain Scarlett -I mean Jack the same character, full stop.

@swordseye2 See, because he can never die, that's not natural, so each time he dies, he changes a bit each time. So billions of years go by...in even thousands of years, things can become myths, legends, etc. So finally, being deformed and old and frankly strange Jack becomes Boe, old and weary and under the different name. :)
