Hey, either im getting this finish or white on a epiphone special II les paul, which do you recommend for a teenager, for metal/rock/today rock, or avenged sevenfold type music, based on looks white or cherry sunburst??
@AJs209TV i have the epiphone les paul special ii too. but to be honest it really sucks. do you already play guitar? or is this your first? if its your first then nevermind. but if not, i think you should just save up for a decent guitar. dont just buy the cheapest thing you see in the store. if youre a teenager then you are way to big for that beginner guitar anyway. but if you do decide to get the special ii, id go for the all black or wine red since you like metal. white is boring.
@vintage76543210 It is great and it's totally worth the money. I enjoy it just as much as my Gibson Les Paul Custom and I mean that very sincerely. : )
Would have been nice to give a summary rather than just walk up and switch off. Bit finger tied on some parts so could not get the full benefit of the tones. Nice guitar though!
hey i dont know a damn thing on how to play and electric guitar and i wanna ask.how do you know what to set to make different tunes and stuff? like at 2:32
or 235 i wish i could tho i need a new guitar mine is a epiphone sg n whin i first got it i thought it was the best you could get tho but now i have no money and im scared to ask for a new one so im stuck with the crappy sg arrggggggg
look Any axe u buy you have to set up, some are better others are bad. i have an older epi some what like this one close buy not either, i had a 67 gibson v gave it to jmy son, whats the problem right, there are older epiphones that scream as good or better than gibson, look around even garage sales you might find a heirloom even still, i payed a few grand for a guitar worth 5 times as much and plays better than most custom shop guitars found today, set your own up replace pickups tuners and jam
hmm do u mean epiphone special II? its a pretty good guitar, but the bends dont hold as long as the custom does and the treble strings go out of tune after a while. but yeah, its really smooth
@jcbak Yeah, you are right. Check out his videos. Every video its like: ''Heyy, this is my Epiphone Les Paul Custom Wine Red'', ''This is my Epiphone '56 Re-issue goldtop'' ''This is my blablabla'' etc. etc. lol
just find an epiphone that has similar body specs to the gibson, like the epiphone stand plain top, then just put gibson burstbuckers in it and maybe a gibson nashville locking bridge and that's basically the gibson les paul standard.
Just about, but it's the nitro finish that adds all the resonance and cost to the Gibsons. All the Epiphones get that thick poly finish. Very plastic-like. But that's not to say they don't make some good guitars.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
wait and get a real gibson the epiphones are built like toys and don't last long the finishes are real pplasticy aswell the onli thing they have in common is the shape other thn that the build quality of epiphone is very poor
You can replace the pickups that's what I usually do but I must say this one sounds damn nice. It really depends on what you like when you play them side by side. You will probably like the Gibby a little more until you get up to the checkout counter and realise that it's really not worth the MUCH bigger price tag. Also remember the amp has alot to do with how good your guitar will sound. A $3,000 guitar will sound like shit through a shitty amp.
getting on of these would be a great alternative. but never think that just changing the pups are gonna give you a gibson guitar. good pickups are just a mask for bad tone (or not as good tone). the true nature of the guitar really comes alive when the guitar sounds good acoustically (or responds well acoustically) which the custom shop guitars do.
NICE!! a good set of humbucker's are what the Epi les pauls need to sound 70% better. I'm thinkin about getting a custom and putting a set of Gibson's 57's in it.
This is actually a veryyyy nice guitar. i just bought the exact same one a while back and its great. I find that its pretty close with the Gibsons. If you're looking to buy a guitar thats not expensive like the gibsons, deff go for this model in Epiphone cause the price is a few grand cheaper.
just wanted to give you a 'THANK YOU' because i've just purchased my next epiphone... got a sweet P90 and a Burstbucker Pro installed (very loud and warm). kind of useless info to you, but to others reading this i just wanted to say that dcooper830 posts got me onto the wonder and value that is epiphone... keep on pluggin' these vids.
The sound of Burstbuckers are my favorite sound actually! I love them! I just wish they were a little hotter :/, they really need some gain for the Primus covers.
The thing about BB's is that they are designed the way Gibson manufactered pickups in the early 1950's. So yeah, if you know what your doing, you'll get a vintage sound.

so i've been playing a strat for 3 years. But now i want a Epi les paul custom. Does the neck feel relatively the same, or is it hard getting used to?? if u've played a fender neck for a long time.
I'm not sure if it would be easy to get to used to but... Well, it'd be hella worth it! Les Pauls are more than you could ever wish for. Though if I could guess I'd say that you should be alright. And if it's too thick, just move your thumb towards a thinner place on the neck or something... =P

Sweet guitar... I personally just got the exact same guitar from my local music store... I am running it thruogh a Fender Frontman 212R 100W with elecrto-harmonix pedals!!! (all of this was my 16th b-day gift!)
hey buddy.....1st great playin... i got a question... i just wanna know about these epiphones. like do u find them any good...as in are they relaible and the sound???... cos i wanna buy one but not sure if they'r that good... what do u think.. and are they "gig friendly"... if any one could answer i'd like that....
Nope.. sometimes there are special editions like the epi lp custom silverburst.
..But what he got here is called an Epiphone Les Paul Custom Plus. They come in Heritage Cherry- and Vintage Sunburst. The only difference though with the normal Custom is that the Custom Plus has a flamed maple top and comes in 2 sunburst colours instead of ebony and alpine white.

wait a sec.. i thought u can only get customs in black or white?

Nope.. sometimes there are special editions like the epi lp custom silverburst.
..But what he got here is called an Epiphone Les Paul Custom Plus. They come in Heritage Cherry- and Vintage Sunburst. The only difference though with the normal Custom is that the Custom Plus has a flamed maple top and comes in 2 sunburst colours instead of ebony and alpine white.
